How can we offer him a scholarship when none are available for next year? The only scholarship for next year was Pat Mitchell's and I thought that one was going to Shane Benton. Is possibly one of the red-shirt juniors not returning next year. Something has to give for this offer to be made. Go Sioux

I see us going 10 deep to start with. The entire starting 5 is back with (Brekke,Huff,Schuler,Webb and Mitchell) so I dont really think this will change especially the way these guys finished up the year. We will have Anderson and the canadian (sorry cant think of his name right now) rotating in at the guard positions. Goodman will back up Huff and Allard will back up Mitchell. At the center spot I see Wilmer backing up Brekke and maybe some of time for Archer. We have a solid backup at every postion this year and whoever is hot will play the most in that paticular game. It could be a very nice luxury for Jones and company. It will also make practices very competitive. Go Sioux

Looks like a great addition to this team. He brings alot of experience and knowledge and since most of our team is guards he should help them tremendously.

Four non D1 schools if I read the schedule correctly. Hopefully in the future this number will be reduced. Non D1 games do nothing for RPI nor anything else. Otherwise nice schedule moving forward for the Big Sky. Go Sioux

Whatever the reason why UND is not playing USD is a shame. Its a huge rivalry game and with the amount of games played each year this game should be played. Hopefully in the future these games will be played. UND, USD and NDSU need to play each other for the fans and the universities. Go Sioux

Reliable source told me the game against North Dakota State will be in the Ralph. Great news. How sweet would it be to sell out the Ralph for basketball. We need to at least top 10,700 . Go Sioux

I really wish this game was not on a Tuesday. Seems they would bring in alot more people from the state if it were on a Saturday. I dont see many people travelling very far for a Tuesday night game. This game should have definately been on a Saturday. GEEZ

Has anyone heard about any holiday tournaments like the one they played in last year in Idaho and the prior year in Montana? This usually adds 3 quick games to the schedule.

Very solid opponents both home and away so far. I would guess we would be playing at least one more power conference team on the road for the money and then about 10 other non-conference teams for a 30+ game schedule. Hopefully the full schedule will come out soon.

Not only would it make it difficult to recruit but I can see many of our current athletes transferring to other schools. Its a very bad situation if UND continues to fight the nickname.

This is a shocker. Dont know what he expects from this move other than to watch most of the games from the bench.

Agree, without some big men to help Brekke this talented freshmen class will just fall into the middle of the Big Sky conference in their only two years in the conference. What a shame that would be to have so much talent in one class and not help them out where needed. Hopefully there is something major in the works or expect to be middle of the pack at best.

Brekke and Schuler had already signed when this other Jordan kid left the program. So, one of the true freshmen got his scholarship.

Do we have scholarships to offer for this class? I thought we only have one scholly for this year and was thinking it was going to Benton after his first year. As it stands right now we will not have an experienced big man for this freshman class (outside Brekke) when these freshmen are seniors. When this freshman class are seniors the only big men we will have is Brekke and freshmen big men if we even get any, unless a juco player comes in when they are seniors.

I talked to Faison after the NDSU game this year and he told me the NDSU came would more than likely be in the Alerus. Set up and practice time for the teams would take up too much time away from the hockey team (3-4 days). A sold out Ralph for basketball would have been awesome but likely not going to happen.

I'm sure there will be at least one more big time game. We have played 2 big time programs in each of the last several seasons since the D1 transition. Also, I believe we have to go to Louisiana Tech and Longwood in a two year deal since they both came to GF last year. Hopefully we will also play South Dakota in a yearly contest. I'm sure South Dakota wants a piece of us after we beat them 3 times last year. There will probably be serveral Big Sky games on tap also. Go Sioux

Vegas gets my vote. As another poster mentioned you can plan ahead with your vacation and if your team losses early then what better place is there to spend 3 -4 days waiting to come home. SIOUX in Vegas, love it.

If indeed Benton is given a scholarship for 2012-13 then we have no scholarships available until the 5 red-shirt sophomores graduate, which leaves us with no big man addition for our first year into the Big Sky. Unfortunately thats what we needed the most. Watching video's Austin looks more like a point guard. We will basically have 3 points guards so Im wondering who gets the bump to the bench if Austin is as good as they say. Maybe a pure 4 guard offense and play only 1 big. Its definately going to be crowded at the 1,2 and 3 positions for the next several years with no hopes of a BIG. Go Sioux

Good point. That would be a possibility but would Moody do that to Jones if it was not a mutual agreement between all parties.
