No one said they shouldn't exist, stop being dramatic. THANK YOU! Someone understands what the original discussion was actually about.

Not bagging on SCSU, just pointing out that they are not on UND's level. It's not being boastful, but it is a fact. SCSU is a young program that doesn't have the same amount of resources, history, and accomplishments. Doesn't mean you can't take some games from us now and again but it'll take a lot of those stacked up as well as a bunch of postseason success vs other teams that has alluded your program historically. The 4 out of 6 points in December is a nice feather in the cap for SCSU but us ending your season 2 of the past 3 years are the really important ones.

FS23 on USCHO put together a points system for ranking programs that seems pretty objective. I don't believe it necessarily takes into account how recent they've been successful but it's kind of a fun countdown that covers the complete history of the programs. Plus it puts us in 1st .... SCSU is #32 FWIW http://board.uscho.com/showthread.php?119970-The-Greatest-Programs-of-All-Time-1-60/page6

It's not boasting to say we're a flat out better hockey program than SCSU... it's a fact.
-
Yeah I worded it poorly, I meant with both programs offering the same thing so it's apples to apples. Not necessarily a full scholarship.
-
Has any recruit ever had a full scholarship offer to UND and SCSU in their hands and chosen St Cloud? Honestly curious...
-
I just think it's adorable that SCSU thought they had a shot at him.

While I agree he should've stayed another year, he definitely stuck out in the MSG game against BC and that Omaha game where he had that highlight reel goal late in the 3rd to get the sweep.

Went to the soft opening at Ely's Ivy and it was good food, definitely unique so not sure how that'll play to the GF market but hope they succeed. Also went to the soft opening for Sickie's yesterday at service was top notch, food was great too. They opened up Whitey's formal dining area and added a lot more TV's so it feels brighter. I also think a wall must've been opened between the bar and sit down area because it seems more open.

NORTH DAKOTA vs. Union - SATURDAY Gameday

Our powerplay is not as terrible as people make it out to be. UND is not known for a lights out powerplay even when we've had good teams. Currently, our PP is 26th in the country at 20%. For comparison, the 2016 champs clipped along at 19.1%. -

Yeah that's a fair point, helps when tickets are that cheap. Good move on the REA to drop those prices to fill the arena. -
NORTH DAKOTA vs. Union - SATURDAY Gameday

Maybe I was at the wrong game but I thought the crowd was pretty solid for a thanksgiving series. The only section open was that corner one on the NW side of the rink in the upper bowl. Makes me think we should take another student section away in the upper bowl because most of those sections were more full than they were against Miami. The crowd also tried to will the team back into the game with some chants despite them only scoring 3 goals on the weekend. Obviously having the band quiets it down some between plays but I thought it was a pretty good turnout <shrugs> -
NORTH DAKOTA vs. Union - SATURDAY Gameday

Pointing out inconsistencies in officiating while recognizing our own team's faults don't need to be mutually exclusive. Union was very good at getting little grabs & subtle stick work to affect our guys just enough. I can't remember who it was but a guy had a slap shot right in the slot this weekend and literally had his stick stopped halfway down which made him fall over. The Union player did it so quickly and subtly that the refs didn't see but if the guy stops his stick halfway down on a slap shot and turns the player, that's a hold all day. Kudos to Union for playing the game they needed to play. Also, they were phenomenal at getting in lanes then clearing the pucks all weekend. -
While Eids was a fine goalie, he really regressed after his sophomore year.

What do you think of the logo now??

I think cberkas and MM are saying their nickname is 'Cardinal' as in the color, rather than 'Cardinals' as in the bird. -
NORTH DAKOTA vs. Union - FRIDAY Gameday

Unfortunately he did get exposed a little on his tendency to over-commit leaving wide open nets on the backside. I'm sure it'll improve as he matures but I'd think teams will key in on that. -

ChesterFritz90 hit it it right on the head, lotta conjecture being thrown around here with the tiniest of sample sizes being projected onto a massive population of people. I'm in the 'show me some real numbers' camp as well. -
