  1. It would be easier to keep the same lines if they, ya know... showed any sign of chemistry. I'd expect to see similar lines to Saturday. Helps when your forwards actually put the puck in the net.
  2. Agreed FS4L, he was a stud that year. Even with that d corp in front of him he was a .930 goalie i think? Made huge saves vs DU & QU in high pressure situations. I don't remember him giving up goals like that 2nd one on friday where he is just out of position. Part of it could be that no one had expectations for him so he could play more freely...just speculating. Either way, awesome to see him supporting Thome as he had a solid game Saturday. Listening to berry after the game I'd say it's thome's net if he keeps playing that way.
  3. Mine would be put up for adoption
  4. Good post, agree with all of it
  5. It'll be a UND sweep, book it
  6. Looking to buy 3 tickets anywhere in the arena for Saturday. PM me if you are selling
  7. Got ya, I saw a CHN column that said Smith went to the make the hit to the head even after he had no chance at the puck which is probably why I'm sensitive to it.
  8. Smith deflected Plante's shot before he made the hit
  9. White Honda Accord in Grand Forks with a smallish Sioux Hockey sticker on the center of my rear window.
  10. Merely pointing out Thome's weaknesses vs Cam's right now as we want the best goalie for us at the time, no? We are #12 in the PWR and don't have time for a goalie learning on the fly right now. I think until Cam has a bad game(by Berry's standards, not SS msg board avatars), you keep playing him.
  11. Agreed, unless Cam has a clunker of a game I think you keep starting him. He recovered nicely after that bad goal against, I was sure that would destroy his confidence but he was resilient and was solid for the remainder of the game. Thome will continue to get better as he has a lot of natural talent but he got exposed @ Denver, overplaying passes and leaving the net 100% open a few times. If it's a player getting a straight up shot on net I'd give Thome they edge right now but any sort of cross ice pass or fake shot Cam is a much better goalie right now. DISCLAIMER: This opinion is based on 5+ years of being a shutdown knee hockey goalie in my former years as well as 20+ years of coaching college and NHL goalies...from my couch
  12. No way, he has better sense than that
  13. The kid next to me was yelling for Tomek. I thought about correcting him but didn't wanna spoil it for him.
  14. Reading through this thread, the puck cleared the glass by maybe a foot. I had a perfect view of it.
  15. I remember at basketball games at The Hyslop there would be a member of the Sioux tribe doing their traditional dances during halftime. I was in elementary school and still remember thinking it was really cool AND it taught me something about their culture. However, I suppose that doesn't fit the narrative that the UND logo was racist and we appropriated their culture... but I digress
  16. They're even participating in the green out, nice work!
  17. My thoughts exactly. Usually these give me a chuckle, this one fell flat.
  18. I remember being terrified of the Bleacher Creature when I was a kid.
  19. I was thinking purely from a selfish standpoint. Ask me in June and I'll probably say don't let them join.
  20. He did until he got walked in the opening faceoff in OT that led to the game winner. However, figuring in on both of the goals for CHI probably gives him some leeway.
  21. Hope this happens quickly and they can join the NCHC, I would probably not miss an away game in AZ. Any excuse to get a hockey/golf trip in during a ND winter would be great!
  22. Bowen's strength of being a great PK was actually a weakness for him vs Duluth. If I had a nickel for every time he failed to clear the dang puck... I'm a fan of Dixon but he made me curse multiple times this past weekend.
  23. ...and beating Omaha 7-0
  24. You can still recognize he's vastly improved in the last few series and setting a good tone as captain with his play. 5 game point streak with 5 G 3 A, despite his slow start he's one of the positives of this team so far.
