  1. I’m afraid it’s you who missed the point and it’s made painfully clear by what you just regurgitated into that post. The comparison between an accountant and a hockey player got even sillier and you somehow pushed us even further away from a coherent discussion. That’s not to mention the staggering amount of ellipses you used. I’m guessing you’re not an English teacher because... “results matter” as you so eloquently put it. These young men will do just fine moving forward, but you don’t actually care about that. Good luck with getting those “numbers to add up” and the Peterson account
  2. Senior VP, VP? I don't know, it's a tough comparison
  3. Comparing college hockey to “the real world” and being an accountant is such a stretch. Thousands and thousands of people are successful at different levels of being an accountant and they’re not all that special. I know because I have been one. Much fewer people in the world are talented enough to play d1 level hockey, at UND nonetheless. To suggest that because UND hockey currently isnt living up to your hopes and dreams for them this season, they may not be preparing these young men for the real world is proposterous at best. These kids have produced “results” their entire lives or they would not be in the position they are. I feel like a few people on this site project a lot of their desires/emotions/feelings of accomplishment(or lack thereof) on this team. Then, when they don’t produce or fall short of that person’s standards it becomes personal and these people lash out as if they’ve been wronged. It’s similar to a father living vicariously through their son’s accomplishments. This is a game and winning or losing is not a reflection of these student athletes character or your bull$%!# preparation for the real world spiel so save it. This season sucks because cheering for a successful team is more fun than an unsuccessful one but that’s all it is. So don’t make it out to be more.
  4. I mean you're not wrong but you have to acknowledge they shut down their top scorers too. It does feel like every time a team scores a big goal on us it's that players 1st of the season/career. If it weren't so sad I'd laugh. Defense isn't our problem though IMO I got the feeling last night that I've had plenty of times this season but haven't been able to articulate until now. It feels like for UND to score 4 or 5 perfect things have to happen in succession, where as other teams it's one good bounce/pass/etc for a goal. I imagine this is due to not having a game-breaking offensive player but it's frustrating beyond description.
  5. If a post on a message board from an anonymous avatar doesn't convince him... nothing will
  6. Celebrating with the team at Ferg's Live and getting to hold the national championship trophy didn't suck either Although, I will say there was an awareness of all the fans in Tampa that a massive party had kicked off in Grand Forks. One of the best nights of my life!
  7. Let's go boys, everyone starts at zero in the playoffs 4-3 OT win Guch, Kierstad, Poolman, Mismash
  8. I don't think anyone is arguing that UND should be higher than they currently are, at least I hope not. They've played themselves into this position and now they're going to have play themselves out of it or have an early end to their season.
  9. They have to drive through Colorado Springs though and that’s 6,000 so that should help
  10. Can't it be both?
  11. 2021 National Champions...heard it here first
  12. Sure, but 97 wins is nothing to scoff at.
  13. Exactly, there were no shortage of seats at MSG. A lot of Sioux fans travelled but we're talking an NHL arena here.
  14. Yeah but this board has him going top 5 overall
  15. Could you tell us which games are most important so we know who to root for?(besides UND of course)
  16. This^, seriously. I don't care how, just have more goals at the end of the game than them.
  17. 2 VERY different things, completely agree
  18. PST worthy statement here. Thanks for the laugh, goodnight everyone.
  19. Win the ones I said and I show us at 14th in PWR, assuming many other results obviously. A win vs UNO doesn't have much value except that it's not a loss. Going 5-3 with one loss against UNO leaves us at 19th in PWR and probably having to run the table in the playoffs.
  20. I'm showing we need to win about 6 of the final 8 to be inside the bubble. Then of course you have the NCHC playoffs. I'd think winning 6 of 8 and then winning the 1st round would get us in. It's a big ask but not impossible with the teams we have left to play. Split vs WMU and UMD, sweep CC and UNO.
  21. You think Colton stays? I think he should and it would be fantastic but thought he was a decent bet to leave after his jr year?
  22. In Omaha for the 1st time since outdoor series, hoping to extend my 2 game winning streak to 4!
  23. In 46 years of doing the bus, none of the reasons you listed are without precedent. Gas has been cheap before, the team has downright sucked(if you think this is bad check out our records from '91-'96 and you'll appreciate this year), sure someone has always had to sit in front of the toilet, and there have always been drunk people.
  24. Sure you have math on your side, but panic and despair are the native languages spoken around these parts.
