  1. Sometimes when defenseman score a large % of the goals it tends to indicate a lack of scoring punch up front. For example, the year wolanin led the team in scoring.
  2. No kidding, I don't recall a team that is this scary good on the powerplay. As of late, it feels like a foregone conclusion the puck is finding the top corner of the opposition's net.
  3. Absolutely, Power Play and on a line with some guys that are good at creating space for him and he thrives.
  4. If CC makes the tourney he probably gets it, and tbh I wouldn’t be that upset
  5. It is, let’s hope the boys don’t fall in it. I’m thinking the Penrose being a very real possibility keeps them locked in. I like that it’s a road series too
  6. If that was a bulldog player, he’d still be writhing in pain trying to draw a major.
  7. I believe he’s still adjusting to the college game. He could very well come on strong to end this year and watch out for him next season.
  8. It’s so awesome to have a plethora of options that can pick a corner. Gaber, Blake, Berg, OMac. You can’t stop them all
  9. SiouxSports.com defaulting to its factory settings is somehow comforting
  10. Aren't these chosen by the school?
  11. For some reason this video came to mind when imagining Grand Forks partnering with O'Leary
  12. I harken back to my post the day Emerson left
  13. I could sense how big that game was when UND won. Remember thinking, we're going to be very happy we held on to this win come the end of the year.
  14. He does stay on his feet more, I think it’s if he believes a guy is going to shoot high. I like it and think it makes him look super confident in his abilities
  15. The thing with Perron is I can see the skill, it's so obvious, and impressive when he gets a little bit of space. He's the perfect prospect for college hockey because he gets bumped off the puck easily against the boards so he'll hit the weight room hard in the offseason and add a new dimension to his game. He needs to get some of that Gaber(or Grimaldi) strength and he'll be unstoppable.
  16. One other thing I'll point out that I noticed the last couple weekends, our wingers have to stop cheating when they think we may turn the puck over going the other way. I've seen a few times where it looks like we may turn the puck over to get an odd man rush and they jump out of the zone only to have the puck stay in our own end. Gotta play honest hockey as a unit and not get separated especially on the big ice.
  17. This ^ who cares how small the arena is if it's packed and the students get to watch their team try to make the Frozen Four? Oh and the added bonus of the exposure via national television for that school that EARNED that ranking.
  18. Well that's progress at least
  19. It's easy to say you should always bring in freshman instead of 5th years but I think that's wayyy too simplistic a view. Do you want to win a national championship that season? Do you think that 5th year player or the freshman(that maybe could season in juniors) is going to further that goal? Many times it will be the 5th year player that furthers that goal. To be clear, we're not talking about delaying a Brock Boeser like talent to give a walk on a 5th kick at the can here. I don't think anything close to that has happened where we lost the freshman. I've noticed posters aren't using Cole Spicer as an example of a mistake by Coach Berry any longer...
  20. Aren't we almost out of the woods on this? If my math is correct, guys that were in their 1st year of eligibility during the COVID season would be on their 5th year next season.
  21. To win a title this year? Not sure I agree
  22. If there's one thing history has shown us, we never have any injuries that would allow the freshman 14th forward to get a chance to prove himself.
  23. I hope Berg has a hat trick
  24. No kidding, that’s wild. Makes a lot more sense and helps put all those wins in perspective
