I'm not getting as high on CHL recruits as everyone else until I see them produce. I believe there's been comparison to guys that have played USHL and CHL generally being able to produce at a much higher rate in the CHL after struggling in the USHL.

Wish the best for Hobie but he had his shots and could never consistently stop pucks. I think people railed against playing TJ late in the year simply because he's a transfer because there's no way you look at those 2 goalies and say Hobie should've played over TJ. We already have more of a pipeline in Jax' first month of being a coach than we did in the last how many years. Heil and Spunar are both exciting prospects and I look forward to watching goalies develop once again. I wasn't a fire berry guy but a weak spot I always agreed with was that we weren't developing goalies well enough.

One of the wildest tournaments I've seen at any level, so for it to be at The Masters to complete the Career Grand Slam is unfathomable. You couldn't write that script because no one would believe it. And look out Quail Hollow in a month for the PGA. He's freed up and has won there 4 times in his career.

The thing you miss in this is, all of this success benefits UND. It makes us better throughout the season, it helps with recruiting for all NCHC teams, and it makes a huge difference in post-season success(7 of the last 9 titles). If conference success didn’t matter, we may as well be in the AHA right?

That was surprising to me as well. What was Chaves looking for in that meeting or what did Berry say that made Chaves decide to fire Berry? At the same time he said he doesn't make decisions in a vacuum so that tells me he spoke about the possibility with Armacost before the meeting. I'm not totally buying everything being sold.

I believe Jackson said in his press conference that Simmer wasn't there because he was on the road recruiting? Or maybe that was just wishful thinking

Love to hear it, our d core is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Emery has a bit of a mean streak(in a good way) and I imagine one more year of experience will make him more comfortable back there.

The tough part with fans that hate the portal is Jax is going to have to use it to field a team for this year(and maybe the next) as recruiting takes a long time and it sounds like there's significant work to build UND's presence back up on the trail.
