  1. Sure they have never been a Sioux but many of them still refer to them as Sioux. Not saying one way or the other on this argument but just think it's interesting I still see current players and new commits use #Sioux or something similar in their tweets.
  2. So my $1700 bet on North Dakota was NOT a good one?
  3. Movin' on up!
  4. Only a period?! I hope we can keep them off the board for a series.
  5. UND 4-2 Chyzyk, Boeser X2, Simonson
  6. I would argue we have a majority of their support. You're never going to get full support about anything across the board, it's not realistic. The few offended are drowning out the many who aren't, including members of the Spirit Lake Tribe who sued the NCAA to keep the name. http://indiancountrytodaymedianetwork.com/2011/11/01/spirit-lake-tribe-sues-ncaa-60972 That sounds like support to me, how about you?
  7. No, we failed to meet the NCAA's arbitrary guidelines which is completely different. Spirit Lake Tribe provided support, Standing Rock's Council didn't allow it to go to a tribal majority vote. I understand we have to move on at this point but don't simplify the facts about what really happened.
  8. Beat me to it, damn!
  9. I would but you down-voted me... so I'll probably just cry myself to sleep
  10. To piggyback off Fetch, I am also generously accepting donations of old Sioux gear for fans that would like to move on to the new logo and not be stuck in the past. For everything this program has given me, it's the least I could do.
  11. Yup, simply stating the color of their skin is tough to defend(It'd be like a team with an African American logo named Blackskins or Asian logo named yellowskins). I see a very distinct line drawn between Sioux and Redskins but some people lump them together which is disheartening when Sioux is the name of the tribe vs the pigment of their skin.
  12. They've earned it for sure. And the sign of a good team is one that wins even when they don't have their best. One thing I've noticed from this year to past years is we are consistently outshooting and out-possessing teams. Our team has looked quite veteran for having 11 freshmen on it. So far it's fun to watch, hopefully they can continue to have success once we get into the meat of our schedule.
  13. Agreed, him not "going for the puck" makes zero difference. You're allowed to check someone that possesses the puck(legally of course). It does not factor into a penalty and definitely should not factor into a suspension.
  14. Friday - Chyzyk Saturday - Nick Schmaltz
  15. +1 to this comment so an aggregate of -1... I think
  16. Great question, I was wondering the same thing...
  17. Nope, but guessing this is the only angle the league saw as well.
  18. Saratoga is a nice establishment
  19. Here ya go https://twitter.com/UofHockeyBlog/status/661738054558748672
  20. He does have the most penalty minutes in the nation thus far as well so unfortunately has a rep for taking penalties already this year.
  21. It sure didn't look like you were aware when you quoted the previous poster and stated all of ND is in the same market. And that would not be that obvious to everyone on this site so thought I'd clarify, no need for the snarky response.
  22. 7 single tickets left for Friday and 1 ticket left for Saturday on Ticketmaster.
