looking at the 2017 NHL entry draft only 7 first rounders and 5 second rounders were eligible to play college puck. Is the pool for blue chippers decreasing? or is this on par for most years? How did Makar go from AJHL to Amherst? was that a miss?

I was responding to this post, turns out the poster counts players that actually attend and play as recruits lost. I thought he was commenting on players that had shown interest or even committed to the program.

i thought the topic was recent misses by the program

oh, I guess I didn't put them in the recruit category... I was thinking Seth Jones, Austin Matthews, JT Miller... I hope the are looking at Layne Young, his EP page show University of Saskatchewan.. seems to know how to put the puck in the net.

I agree runaroundsioux, and would like to add that the "recipe" for a natty does not always include blu chippas. Although if scoring by committee comes up short it is easy to point at the missing piece..
