That is just stupid. Hain really struggled last night by imo that was more a product of who he was playing with and Blaisdell really had some solid sequences.

PJ was definitely campaigning for Gameday to head to Minneapolis in a couple weeks. I still think they will end up going to LSU/Bama but he had a good sell. Really fun one to watch today. Gonna be a fun build up to that huge game with Penn State. Biggest Gopher game in a long time. TCF should be rocking.

Good to get out of that one with a win. Bemidji was the hungrier team, the more urgent team, and the team that executed better for about 50ish minutes tonight. UND just seemed a half second slow with everything for most of the night. Nobody really had a great game but I thought Mismash and Blaisdell had some solid play as far as forwards go. Caulfield was solid in his limited opportunities too. For as good as Hain was watching him opening weekend he was non-existent tonight. I don't think the line changes tonight helped him out at all. I think I'd keep him with at least one of Mismash, Michaud, and Pinto. Think Frisch needs to be a little bit more aggressive with his offense. Seemed a little hesitant at times and I think part of it is just being more confident and trusting yourself. Had a couple solid shot looks where he chipped it back in the corner instead.

Gophers just have to take care of business against Maryland. Maryland has a ton of speed so the defense will have to really tackle well in space. Especially with the Gophers top tackler this year Kamal Martin leaving the game against Rutgers and looking like he will miss at the very least this next week. The Gophers offense has to be able to take advantage of a Terp defense that hasn't been good though. The Wisconsin loss was definitely a nice surprise yesterday for sure.

I'd love for another night game for the Gophers but it sounds like that probably won't happen. Apparently they were interviewing an associate AD pregame yesterday and he said they've been told it won't be a night game. If I were to guess I'd say it will be Fox's Big noon game and while it would be cool to be their focus game a 11 a.m. start wouldn't help the atmosphere at all.

Sounded like a very exciting and fun game just wish I could've watched it. Seemed like the Hain-Michaud-Mismash line was really really good again but just didn't have much to show for it. Pinto is a very good player and definitely has the coaching staff's trust. Who was taking the crucial defensive zone faceoffs late? Pinto.

Fun to watch tonight. Gophers just physically dominated Nebraska. Gotta keep taking care of business and beating the teams you are supposed. Can't have any sort of let down next week at Rutgers.

Only caught bits and pieces of the game but seemed like it was a slow start before the guys got going. Good to see a big number put up on the board and multiple goal scorers. A Sioux sweep combined with Gopher football destroying Nebraska make it a pretty good Saturday. Hopefully the Vikings can follow suit tomorrow.

Are these new jerseys Colorado College is wearing? They might be the worst I've ever seen. The white writing and numbers with the yellow jersey is bad and then you mix in some light gray on the shoulders and top it off with a white helmet. Not a good mix at all.

Despite not scoring the powerplay showed some good things. Thought they overpassed quite a bit and the spacing was just a little off a few times and those are things that should improve as guys get more used to each other. I would've liked to see a time of possession stat tonight. Felt like UND had the puck 90% of the game. Was impressed with Peski tonight. Coming into the year I kinda wondered if Frisch might take some playing time from him but his skating looks much improved and he looked good tonight. The Mismash-Michaud-Hain line created a ton tonight and really look like they work well together.

I'd bring back both of them and sign another free agent as well with Pineda missing the first 40ish games because of his suspension. I'd give Cole whatever he wants but he will still probably end up on the west coast. Maybe end up with someone like Zack Wheeler. I really don't have a preference but I won't be surprised at all if Rosario is a guy they look to move while looking for pitching help and guys like Kirilloff, Larnach, and Rooker getting closer. Rotation of 1.Berrios 2.Odorizzi 3.Pineda(when his suspension is over)4.Wheeler 5.Winner of spring training battle Thorpe, Smeltzer, Dobnak. Graterol will take over a spot at some point in the summer but doubt they put him in the rotation right out of spring training. Yes.

Michaud

Sure looks like Odorizzi is done as he is getting hugs in the dugout and I disagree with it. I'd let him start the 6th and see if he can get through it. Rogers was the one warming up in the pen and I can't see him pitching the final 4 innings.

Up to 5-0 and playing much better the last couple weeks while taking advantage of the soft schedule. Next up is the hype machine that is Nebraska for a Saturday night game at TCF.
-
Few thoughts from the exhibition tonight. -Puck movement was much better than at any point last season. I know it will get tougher against better teams but crisp tonight. -Lot more creativity and skill shown from the group tonight especially the forward group. -Mismash looked very solid tonight. Really liked him with Hain and Michaud. -Pinto was maybe the most impressive forward to me tonight. Guy that can do a little bit of everything and do it all well. -Interesting to see Feeney ahead of Thome at least for tonight.
-
I know the game was out of hand but hopefully his performance earned a little more trust for him from Rocco. I definitely would have had him coming in before Stashak last night.
-
Exactly and if he didn't want to have guys throw more than 1 inning then you let Berrios go back out there to start the 5th.
-
With the way he has looked tonight I'd be surprised if he is starting tomorrow with a righty on the mound. Throw Cave in the outfield and move Gonzalez to 1st base.
-
I would've been fine with that too. My thing is if you are going to your bullpen in that situation you can't go with a guy you're kind of rolling the dice on like Littell. If you wanna roll the dice roll it with Berrios.
-
Its like Rocco was trying to steal an inning with Littell and it was a terrible time to try that.
-
I was alright with going to the bullpen to start the 5th but not Littell. I thought it was a sure thing Duffey would start the inning. If the option was Littell or Berrios to start the 5th I would've just seen what Berrios could do coming off his best inning of the night.

Zimmer and his staff got it handed to them by the Bears in the 1st half. No adjustments at all from the Vikes as the Bears just methodically moved the ball down the field all half. A Bears team missing 2 of their top players overall on the defensive side and their top OL coming into the game is completely dominating. Oh yeah and they lost their starting QB on the first series. This is one the Vikings need to have and it looks like they have no chance.
-
I don't know what Rocco was thinking there but he is lucky they got out of it with only 1 run. That is the type of thing you test out after your team has clinched the division. Your coming off a day off and you roll with Gibson for 2 innings in a close game and the only guy warming up was Stashak? That just isn't smart at all.
