I was hoping to see the Twins really focus on adding at least 2-3 impact arms and May was one of those guys so this isn't a good start especially with a couple other guys I had in mind opting to take qualifying offers. Hope he gets a chance to close for the Mets.

I like it I think the one adjustment I'd make is moving Hain with Keane and Senden and Ness with Weatherby and Blaisdell.

I mean the win over Indiana is decent for Ohio State but I think this year more than any other would just be they went with the eye test and Ohio State looks like one of the best 4 teams in the country. I think Clemson will beat Notre Dame when they play again for the ACC Championship but I'd like to see both of them in the playoff and between those two, Alabama, and Ohio State I think you could matchup any of the 4 teams and it is gonna be a pretty good ballgame. Alabama looks like the most complete team so far but I'm not convinced they've really been tested. Clemson and Ohio State have unbelievable offenses but both have had moments were their defense has looked questionable and probably even moreso for Ohio State there. Notre Dame looks like they have the best defense and their RB Williams carries a heavy load for them while Book just seems to make winning plays when they need it most.

Hell of a job there from Rhule with clock management to give the Vikings the shot to win. Basically screwed it up twice with the 2 straight incompletions although both were kinda drops at 2:26 and 2:23 before the punt saving the 2 minute warning and the Vikings final timeout. Then the incompletion on 3rd and goal saving some more time. I thought he should've just went for it on 4th and goal from the 3 rather than taking the field goal. Either you get the TD or the Vikes have to go 97 yards for the lead. The other big play was the blocked 28 yard field goal from Wonnum. I was actually fine with the Vikings losing because as much as I'd like to see them go on a run I don't see it. Probably finish 8-8 just outside of the playoffs and right around 17-18 in draft order. Still felt weird as a Vikings fan you are used to heartbreak and kinda brace for it but I don't know if I've ever been more confident that a kicker wasn't making the kick than on that game winning attempt.

South Carolina fires Will Muschamp. Buyout is $13 million.

Yep the Sanford experiment has failed miserably. He should be gone and let Simon take over as full time OC. Special teams have been a disaster for two years and whenever Fleck fires Wegner it won't be soon enough. I expected to take a step back defensively but it has been worse than I expected. Just terrible angles from LBs, soft soft coverage giving easy throws to young inexperienced QBs and allowing them to gain confidence, and last night was just total domination from Iowa's OL. Embarrassing performance.

Look at the change in live bet odds from the people who always seem to know in Vegas. They have swung the favorite to Trump. Big time change.

Vikings win. Damnit there goes Justin Fields too.

Dalvin Cook looks like he is gonna carry the Vikings to a worthless win today. On the other side Aaron Rodgers defended Mike Zimmer in the press this week and said it is crazy people mention him on the hot seat and then plays an absolutely terrible 2nd half of football and his O shows no urgency in the 4th quarter despite being down 14. Think Rodgers might be playing the long game here and trying to make sure Zim is around next year.

I don't condone what Miller did at all but I also don't think it needs to be held against him for his entire life like the kid can't change. Disappointed to see UND just bow down to public pressure and this is probably referring more to president/academic people than athletics people because I think they largely made the decision themselves. I trust that the coaching staff had done their homework on Mitchell and were confident his character at this point in time wasn't a concern. I'm not sure Miller would have played a huge role this year maybe 7this defenseman but in a covid year and injuries the president forcing the move right now really hurts the depth of this team. A 22 player roster where you dress 19 every night just seems a little lite to me. Maybe we can bring in a guy at semester.

I'm open to suggestions go ahead and throw out your guess at some combos.

Man Atlanta is so good at finding ways to lose. Really thought the Falcons and Bengals were gonna help the Vikes tanking hopes out a little today.
-
Vikes really proved something to me today. If you can lose to Atlanta you can lose to anybody. Sure Atlanta has a solid offense but I thought the Vikings would just outscore them but I'm sure glad to be wrong about that. I would think 3 or less wins should bring you a top 5 pick and with Green Bay, Tampa Bay, Carolina, New Orleans, Jacksonville, Dallas, ChicagoX2, and DetroitX2 I don't see any more than 2 maybe 3 more wins maximum in there.

As far as free agents I'd like to see the Twins target I have a few in mind. A few of the top free agents don't really fit like 2B LeMahieu and outfielders like Springer, Brantley, and Ozuna If the Twins were to move Jorge Polanco I think Didi Gregorius would be a great fit. On the pitching side we will go with starters first Trevor Bauer would be a dream fit at the top of the rotation with Maeda and Berrios. I don't know how realistic Bauer is though. Marcus Stroman would also be a great fit at the top of the rotation. Guys who probably won't be quite as high but would be good fits are Kevin Gausman and Taijuan Walker. There is some solid relief options as well with guys like Liam Hendricks, Joakim Soria, Blake Treinen, Yusmerio Petit, Greg Holland, Trevor Rosenthal, Alex Colome, Jake McGee, Tony Watson, Justin Wilson, and Jeremy Jeffress.

Twins free agents are pitchers-Odorizzi, May, Hill, and Clippard. Of that group I think you need to bring May back, I'd like to bring Clippard back, and if they can bring Odorizzi back to fill out the back of the rotation I'd be all right with it. I think Hill is at the end and I'm not sure how much he could start over a full season. Hitters-Cruz, Gonzalez, Adrianza, and Avila. I'm kinda torn on Cruz because I think he is a huge leader for this team and he still really produces. He also is really getting up there and it wouldn't be bad to have the DH spot open with some of the young guys coming. I do think I'd try to bring Cruz back for one more year. Gonzalez and Avila I'd let walk. Adrianza I'd try to bring back probably to fill that utility role. I'd definitely explore what you can get on the trade market. Kirilloff we didn't get to see much of but he has been hyped up. Aside from Cruz's double he probably had the two other hardest hit balls today. Rooker only got 20 ABs but I thought he definitely made the case to earn a starting spot next year. I wouldn't be surprised if the Twins go into next spring planning on both Kirilloff and Rooker starting opening day and I'd be good with that. That would mean 2 spots open up and the obvious one that everyone points to is Rosario. Where does the other spot come. Maybe it is Sano, maybe they don't bring back Cruz and Sano spends a lot of time at DH, or maybe it is just more of a rotating lineup in some spots through the week? With Kirilloff and Rooker being able to play 1st/OF that gives you some flexibility.

Exactly, give me the robot umps asap. Ump has been bad all day and then decides I'm sick of you hurting my feelings you're out of here.
-
Absolutely hate the decision to pull Berrios.
-
How many times this year has the Twins 3rd base coach sent a guy and the guy is about by 15+ feet?
-
If Rocco pulls him here he deserves all the heat he will get. Aside from the 2 walks Jose has been in complete control.
-
I don't mind some shifting but I've never been a big fan of a 3 completely on one side and the Twins seem to use that a lot. Even if Polanco would've been lined up a step towards 3rd from 2nd he would've easily made that play today.
-
Berrios loses command for 2 hitters and then the shift strikes again and the Astros take advantage for a run. Meanwhile Twins can't make solid contact at all. Lot of weak fly balls on very very hittable fastballs.
-
In the interview with Rocco just now he didn't entirely rule Buxton out for entering later in the game. Maybe he has some kind of flu or something?
