Good win. Definitely a little bit of sloppiness at times and gotta be stronger on clears especially but down 3 of your scorers to get a road win is nice. Powerplay looked really solid. Big positive if it can start rolling a little bit. The interference call on Omaha was obvious. They had called interference pretty tight all game and that was the most obvious one of the night. Guy even stuck his hip out a little more for extra. The big thing to me is the response from Omaha after it. Your coach and a couple key players absolutely lose it and can't keep their composure. That is an indictment on your leadership. Meanwhile Senden gets hit with a hook late and I thought it was weaker than the interference call but didn't get a great look at it. Still Senden was upset with the call and calmly asked about it but held composure. You see the guys on the bench and the team as a whole just kinda say alright can't control the call but we will control the response and just gotta get the job done.

Post pod series #6-It's literally Omaha from here on out........

Left no doubt tonight. This team has so much depth and so many guys that play the complete game. Scheel is really seeing the puck well. Both goals this weekend took fluky plays to go in. Really seemed in complete control for pretty much the whole weekend which is what this team should do to a middle of the pack team. Get/keep guys healthy but keep the foot on the gas pedal. -

Got better as the game went on. Pretty good job defensively getting sticks in lanes and creating a lot of deflections. The skill of this D group is so high level and I think they seem to be getting more aggressive and confident as we go here. Scheel is really locked in right now, playing so confident. Would really like to see the powerplay start to get going a little bit, maybe simplify things some. -
Post pod series #5-Denver......for the 5th....and 6th time.......

Absolutely. Was more talking about the 1st period where I thought we didn't look sharp at all and seemed to be losing every race. Definitely a pretty solid job defensively especially considering Denver's goals come off of a guy coming out of the penalty box and a puck taking a bad hop over JBD's stick. -

Good teams find ways to win when they aren't at their best and that is what UND did this weekend. Especially in the 1st tonight I thought we just didn't look sharp at all. Beat to too many pucks, not connecting on passes, giveaways, indecisiveness, and blind passes for turnovers. It did get a little better as the game went on but still nowhere near what this team is capable of. Powerplay really looked off, just no rhythm at all and a half second slow with everything. Thome looked a little shaky at times like the 1st goal but stepping in to a tough situation he got the job done. -
Not real sure but I watched him a few times at Cretin and loved his game.

No idea but looking at the commits I would've loved for it to be Matt Gleason but seems a little late for that now. Wouldn't mind Ahrenholz, Batchelder, or Jensen but don't see any signs really with any of them. Don't really see any signs just scanning their commits social media.

Based on the actual plays I'd be absolutely shocked. He was making a hockey play on both of them and the second one never happens if not for the Denver defenseman. But based on the NCHC decision makers it could definitely happen because who knows how they make decisions. -

Scheel was outstanding. Hope he is alright after the dirty slew foot from the Denver player. The Hain penalties were an absolute joke. I'm fine with giving him a 2 on the first one but a 5 is ridiculous. Then on the 2nd one Gavin does his best to avoid contact and would've with out he push from Meindel so we reward Denver with a 2 minute PP for pushing a player into their goalie. Definitely a little bit of rust at times in areas but did a really solid job of kinda grinding out a win. Weatherby, Pinto, and Caulfield have really been coming on and taking their games up a level lately. Finish the job tomorrow night! -

Goaltending is a huge issue for EGF. I watched the 1st period yesterday and it was tied 2-2 after 1. 2 goals on 6 shots for Red River after the 1st and 4 goals on 12 after the 2nd. They have used 2 goalies this season. One has a 3.26 GAA and .818 save % and the other has a 5.40 GAA and .719 save %. Gonna be tough for them to make any run this year with those numbers. -
What color Omaha jersey will you be wearing tonight? My brother is a Gopher fan and even he commented how bad the officiating was in favor of Omaha last night. The 5 to start the game was weak but if you want to call it whatever but then be consistent as Omaha had 2 very similar hits and didn't get called for any penalty on either play.

Nice win. After a bit of a shaky start Scheel played real well late. Some coverage issue to clean up. Few missed opportunities offensively especially on the powerplay. Too much trying to force things instead of taking what is there. Not impressed with the officiating at all. Give Budy a 5 early which I disagree with and then let a few very similar hits go with later on with no calls at all. Couple more calls I'm not sure where they pulled them from either. Omaha is still Omaha. Thinks they are better than they are. Tries to take a ton of shots at guys after the whistle or catch you not looking, embellishes anything and everything they can and whines a ton. Finish the job tomorrow.

I don't really expect it but Shanahan seems to really like Kirk. I would be perfectly fine with moving him not really because of his performance at all but to get out of that contract. I expect another extension to spread the cap hit this offseason.

Another really solid performance. Really nice job defensively tonight limiting opportunities. Could've easily been double digits tonight. Ton of missed chances, couple tap ins missed, Mismash shot was rolling in when net got pushed off, Hain whiffing on the open net, and then just a few real good saves. Would've liked to see us convert on a couple more PP opportunities. You can see Sanderson continue to get more involved offensively every time out. Love the response after Kleven got hit from behind. Good to see the guys protecting each other.

Good solid win. CC's goalie was really good tonight. Number of point blank saves. Generated a ton of chances and seemed like the puck barely left the CC zone in the 1st. Few times got stuck in the d zone and it seemed like every one started with just a weak clear attempt. It is a little picky but gotta be stronger at times on the clear. Glad to hear Berry talk about the penalty issues in the postgame on Midco. Said it is becoming an issue and they have to clean it up. Hurts not only having to use the killers for more minutes but hard to get guys involved.

I watched a little bit of both and EGF had the better of the play when I was watching in all but one crucial area goaltending. Didn't even notice if they started the same goalie both days or not but it looked to be a weak point for sure. Believe EGF actually outshot both Central and Red River. -
Post pod series #2-Denver (MONDAY NIGHT HOCKEY!!!!!!!!)
SiouxScore replied to Wilbur's topic in Men's Hockey
An absolutely horrendous first 40 minutes. Guys legs look really heavy losing almost every puck race, terrible puck management, d-zone coverage is awful, o-zone spacing is pathetic multiple times we have had 3 forwards all go to a D with control of the puck, indecisiveness everywhere, and Scheel has given up a couple weak ones. -
Not exactly pretty but grinded out another win. Good to get a couple games in and a couple wins who knows what we will have this weekend. MVP for tonight goes to Sioux Fanatic, thanks for the stream!

Definitely could see the rust last night on a lot of little things just not being real crisp like puck handling, passes, and even just seeing a lot of guys falling down although part of that may be the CC ice. Thought we could've shot the puck a little more last night but did generate a number of real good chances. Did a pretty nice job of taking away space in the neutral zone and transitioning for having so long of a layoff. Hoping to see another win with a little more crispness tonight.

Somehow they named York one of the top 3 players of the tournament for the U.S. I disagree with that and also Knight being on it as well. I've really noticed York and Thrun struggle in their own zone. They'd be the bottom 2 USA D for me that have seen regular time throughout the tournament.

That was absolutely terrible officiating in the Vikings game. Vikings should've lost that game if not for the incompetence. No way that is a roughing the passer call and that gave the Vikings 6. The incomplete pass on the Detroit TD was terrible too. Man that dude should never work another NFL game in his life.
