I think it basically mean he hasn't made the decison yet to play juniors next year, you can play a certain number of games before or after your high school season and still return to your high school team and I believe that is what is happening here. That doesn't mean Gersich will for sure be playing high school hockey next season and really just means he is keeping his options open at the time.

North Dakota vs. Michigan Tech - Best 2 of 3 - Ticket to the X
SiouxScore replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
We won't play Denver, the teams we could possibly play on theThursday at the final 5 would be the Mankato/Omaha winner, or Colorado College if they beat Denver, or Duluth if they beat Wisconsin. -
Denver-CC should be a very entertaining series and CC has played very well against Denver this season and then you factor in their big rivalry too. Also with Omaha headed to Mankato you will have Troy Jutting returning to Mankato for I believe the first time since being fired.
-
With Denver winning 5-0 after 2 they should hold on to win and I believe this is what we will see for the 1st round next weekend. 1. SCSU 12. AA 2. Minny 11. BSU 3. Sioux 10. Tech 4. Wiscy 9. Duluth 5. Denver 8. CC 6. Mankato 7. Omaha

Anyone aware if the students will be going on spring break this next weekend? Just wondering what the crowd will be like at the Ralph.
-
The dreaded "hot goalie", I do like how we matchup with Tech and think we will be fine next weekend though.

Saw that it was in Bemidji tonight, strange decison to have it in Bemidji rather than Madison since St.Cloud was the only team with a chance to win the cup outright. Looks like the loss tonight has dropped the Sioux to #7 in the pairwise for the time being, Very important to take care of Tech in just 2 next weekend.

Maine and New Hampshire on FSN+ right now with UNH leading 3-1 late in the 2nd.

2013 Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament
SiouxScore replied to fightingsioux4life's topic in Non-collegiate sports
I loved how he went after them and stuck up for his team and can't wait to see his press conference. It was really a shame for the refs to take the game away from Hermantown like that and you could kind of feel it coming as soon as they gave STA the powerplay. If you are gonna call one of those a hold you have to call the other one too. I think my hate level for STA is at an all time high right now. -
I didn't mind the change at all, probably trying to balance the scoring a little more and also trying to get Caggiula going a little since he was perfroming pretty well earlier this season but has been in a little scoring slump lately.

Looks like we need a win and a Minnesota tie or loss to get Bemidji, with a loss we would face Tech, if we win and Minnesota wins we get Tech.

EGF didn't play to their potential either and you knew they would need great goaltending today and that area has been a concern all year and it really was today as well. I know there were a number of people that thought EGF could give STA a game but that early goal in the 2nd period really seemed to completely defleat them and the route was on from there. -

Sounded like we really stole one tonight. Nice to be able to still get a win when you really don't play all that well and maybe we were finally on the right end of a goalie stealing a game. Hope we play better tomorrow and can get the sweep along with a Wisconsin win and a Beaver win or tie.

Hill would be the biggest competition there and I believe they were 1-1-1 against each other this year. -

Agree with you many reasons nobody else in the state likes them besides their fellow cadets. Everyone also taking the shots at them with the "we have girls chant" or calling them "stgay" but I loved it when sta section chanted "whats a green wave?" and EGF section responded with "whats your city?" haha. Its hard to even want any of their skilled players and potential recurits just because of the way they act with things like cordinated celebrations and overall attitude. Even when they move to AA I will still hate them and really have no respect for them because the move should have been made about 3 or more years ago.STA will be able to compete in AA and they really have during the regular season for a few years now but it should be much tougher for them (unless they put them in section 1AA) to even get to the tournament and then yet win a championship. -
Agree with you too cordinated should be more based on emotion. One of the many reasons nobody else in the state likes them besides their fellow cadets. Everyone also taking the shots at them with the "we have girls chant" or calling them "stgay" but I loved it when sta section chanted "whats a green wave?" and EGF section responded with "whats your city?" haha. Yeah if you're an 8th grader playing a regular shift at a program like Hill-Murray you more than likely have a pretty good future ahead of you.
-
The 7 that are locks are Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Illinois, and Minnesota. There is a chance that with a couple B1G tournament wins Iowa could also work themselves into the tournament so you are right with probably 8 teams being the max that will get in unless a way under the radar team like Purdue, Nebraska, Northwestern, or Penn State somehow wins the B1G tournament.

I thought it sounded like Crisfield would only come if we had someone leave early. This is Poolman's 1st year in the USHL and he also played a year in the NAHL and I thought it sounded like he would be coming in this season and that would leave us with 8 D for next season if we don't lose anyone as an early departure.
-
I get the football argument and but I really don't believe the basketball argument to be true especially this year and even probably last season the B1G has been the best overall conference in baksetball and IMO is looking like it might stay that way for the next couple of years as well.

Thats a good question. I like Slattery and also have liked Zach Lavalle a lot for a couple years now. I think he will be a good two way college player for somebody in the future. I was also pretty impressed with the 8th grader they had Anderson and think he will be one to keep an eye on in the coming years.
