I believe so I would think the league will have to review that and he will miss their game Friday.

Good solid win, kind of a sloppy 3rd period but that was a little expected being up 4-0. Anyone else notice the Wisconsin player squirting the crowd with the water bottle when Mersch jumped off the bench to try to fight Pattyn. It looked like the postgame coaches handshake was a litlle more intense than usual, think Hak may have had a message to send Eaves off with. Couple very important games next weekend that will probably have a huge impact on playoff seeding, gotta build off this game and get a nice streak going.

That's one of the biggest things that annoys me too. Just seems so unprofessinal with this group of broadcasters, no matter who they are talking about, interviewing, etc. they always call them by a nickname.
-
A little suprised to see Mitch in as well and also thought we might see Senkbeil watching from the stands tonight. Overall Iooks like Hak is looking for a little more balance in scoring and I thought we might see Grimladi and Caggiula flip flopped but I still think Caggiula will create a few more chances tonight playing with Rowney and Parks.

Who does Fredrick play for? Numbers look good we will need someone for next season.
-
Didn't hear the interview because I can't stand listening to the Midco team but apparently Wisco wasn't very happy with our fans. UW's Michael Mersch calls out UND fans in our 2nd intermission interview Friday night, Mersch quote:"you would never see something like that at the Kohl Center with their fans leaning over our bench which is kinda unfortunate." A little too intense and passionate for the BADgers taste I guess.

I know there are are a couple of local Juco kids visiting today.

Any rumors on goalies for next season since we will need one? Looking at the USHL it doesn't look like there are a whole lot of uncommitted goalies that stand out. The top 3 look to be Arthur Brey of Dubuque with a 2.11 GAA and 90.7 save %, Connor Girard of Dubuque with a 2.11 GAA and 91.0 save % and Kevin Lindskoug of Muskegon with a 2.42 GAA and 92.7 save %. The only one I have seen play is Girard but that was when he was in high school at Edina and he didn't really impress me there.

There has been speculation he is injured, but he really hasn't done anything to prove he should be in the lineup consistently when he has had the chance.

This game today has the feel that is a must win game. The RPM line needs to step up and score on some of these chances they're creating and that could actually go for the whole team too. There were 2 or 3 posts guys hit last night, Knight couldn't finish a great chance early in the game that would have created a lot of momentum, Rowney had a great chance and couldn't finsh, there are just way too many good chances that guys can't finish on. A lot of people have mentioned how the RPM line hasn't been able to score and whether that line should stay together or not and I think they should because they have created a lot of good chances and just have to start finishing them. Another guy who needs to get back to how he was playing earlier this season is Caggiula as he was a big scoring threat in the first half of the season and really hasn't created too much offense in the 2nd half so far although that may be because of a change in his linemates. A lot of different options to go with but I really think we have to get more offensive zone time and chances from our 3rd and 4th lines. I'd like to see this lineup tonight if RPM stays together Grimaldi-Knight-Kristo MacMillan-Rowney-Parks Caggiula-St.Clair-O'Donnell Chyzk-Pattyn-Gaarder If you wanted to break them up MacMillan-Knight-Kristo Caggiula-Grimaldi-Parks O'Donnell-Rowney-St.Clair Chyzk-Pattyn-Gaarder

If you are making the decison who do you go with in goal tonight? Gothberg played pretty well last night and probably deserves another start, but it would be his first time starting back to back games at the college level. Saunders was decent in his last start and has probably been a little bit more consistent through the year. Are you sticking with the rotation or hoping you get the same performance from Zane as last night?

Wish I was making the trip to Omaha but I'm not able to. I'm just gonna agree to disagree with you, the team does need to be a lot more consistent in their level of play but I still think we will get that. This team doesn't have the look right now of some of the very good teams of the past couple years but I think the potential is there. I think as a whole in college hockey this season there really aren't a lot of teams like that though. I mean even with the recent winless stretch we are still sitting in a tie for the 9th spot in the pairwise rankings and there aren't a whole lot of teams on that list that I would be dreading to play.
-
Well are you gonna name these great teams that we can't compete with or what?
-
I'm not sure you have, who are these other teams that are far superior to us? because I'm pretty sure we had the #1 team in the country beat on their home ice and let it slip away. IMO there is nobody in the country we can't play with when we play our best, which I still think we will start to see on a consistent basis down the stretch.

Very much disagree with this, Drake hit him on the shoulder and the guy turned and made it look worst. That call was maybe a minor but definitely not a major. The MacMillan play was something that could be called but I have seen a lot worse things that haven't been called at that stage of the game.
-
I believe the couple horrible calls were both made by Matt Ullwelling who I believe is from Warroad. I had him ref some games in high school and he was good at that level but he looked like he was in over his head tonight. Eaves stopping play constantly getting the officials to come to the bench needs to stop, give him a delay of game and it will happen a lot less. I thought Wisco had a more skilled team but there really aren't a lot of top end guys on that team I thought they really got away with a lot of things tonight like a lot of holding and stickwork as well as a few shots at Gothberg well after he had it covered. Wisco players also seemed to take a lot of dives and go after guys when they were already engaged with someone else. A lot there guys taking cheap shots and then when one of the Sioux players challenges them they back down and want nothing to do with actually dropping the gloves. The refs did lose control of this one tonight so I would expect a very tightly called game tomorrow night. It was a decent game but the bottom line is we need wins, guys have to capitilize on their chances and start to play with a little more desperation.
-
Not suprised to see Gothberg again tonight, didn't think Saunders was really tested last Saturday and gave up 1 soft goal. Hak will stay with the rotation until one goalie clearly takes the job and runs with it.
-
I thought they created some pretty good chances Saturday night and looked like they were starting to find that chemistry a little bit. They had a lot of offensive zone time Saturday and did a nice job cycling the puck as well. I think that line will create some chances tonight again and cash in on a few of them tonight. IMO that line should stay together and is a very dangerous 2nd line.

Lineup notes: Wisconsin isn’t releasing its line chart until game time tonight, UND is responding by doing the same. The lines below are what I’m expecting them to be. Schlossman@SchlossmanGF Here's my best guess at tonight's lines. UW's Kevin Schulze is warming up and may be inserted. UND’s lines 7 Danny Kristo–10 Corban Knight–19 Rocco Grimaldi 16 Mark MacMillan–27 Carter Rowney–15 Michael Parks 8 Dan Senkbeil–28 Stephane Pattyn–11 Derek Rodwell 9 Drake Caggiula–17 Colten St. Clair–13 Connor Gaarder 2 Andrew MacWilliam–18 Dillon Simpson 4 Derek Forbort–24 Jordan Schmaltz 5 Nick Mattson–20 Joe Gleason 31 Zane Gothberg 35 Clarke Saunders 35 Tate Maris Wisconsin’s lines 16 Joseph LaBate–9 Mark Zengerle–25 Michael Mersch 17 Nic Kerdiles–14 Jefferson Dahl–7 Tyler Barnes 20 Ryan Little–21 Brendan Woods–18 Sean Little 26 Brad Navin–12 Keegan Meuer–8 Matt Pappe 19 Jake McCabe–27 Frankie Simonelli 22 Eddie Wittchow–55 John Ramage 5 Chase Drake–24 Joe Faust 30 Landon Peterson 33 Joel Rumpel

Schlossman@SchlossmanGF Zane Gothberg and Landon Peterson starting in net tonight.

Merrimack and Mass-Lowell are on FSN+ right now if anyone else is trying to pass time until the Sioux game starts.

North Dakota MHockey@UNDMHockey Both games this weekend will be on FOX College Sports Central. Saturday's game is on DirecTV 626, but no DirecTV on Friday. #GoUND

I think he is saying something about the news that Midco will be broadcasting the outdoor game at Omaha.
-
I think there is a possibility of a couple JUCO recruits on the defensive side that really haven't been mentioned too much.

If Holy Family was still in class A this year they would have a decent chance but with the move to AA they will have to pull a couple upsets probably to get out of 6AA which is almost always the toughest section in the state. Cathedral has a chance but will have to get past a Hermantown team who is very solid with a little bit of a question mark in net and also the only team they have lost to in section play in Princeton 4-3 who is 6-0-1 in the section, they have already beat Hermantown 5-4 in OT. Holy Family has only played 2 section games so far and split them and will probably end up around the #5 seed in their section.
