Defense and goaltending continue to plague this team. Never seen a UND group struggle so much in coverage. Ty Farmer has been such a massive disappointment to me, really thought adding him would give you a solid 4 to rely on with Kleven, Frisch, and Jandric but it hasn't been that way at all.

It was always the easy need a whistle play. Gets cold in there especially if you get the pleasure of a 6AM practice with frost still on the glass but great hard ice and when the place gets rocking it is awesome. I remember playing Park Rapids at home when the Lehrke that went to Mankato was a SR and they were a top 10 team with and may have been undefeated at the time and we jumped out to a 3-1 lead and they took timeout and the place was electric with people constantly pounding on the walls the entire timeout you couldn't hear anything a coach was saying. -

It isn't ND but gotta give some props to my alma mater Red Lake Falls picking up what is believed to be the first win in hockey program history over Thief River Falls 4-1 last night -
Anyone know if we recruited Hampton Slukynsky out of Warroad? Really good in the net and was a guy I wanted. I'd gladly have 3-4 committed off that Warroad team including him and Shagubay.

Should know section 8A pretty well too
-
Believe he has played in the elite league the last couple years and pretty well this fall. I think there have been a few types from these small schools in 8A that have put up huge points playing soft schedules and huge minutes out of necessity going back a number of years. Places like Kittson, Red Lake Falls, Park Rapids, and Lake of the Woods a while ago.

Some coaching openings starting to get filled. Frank Reich to the Panthers, DeMecco Ryans to Houston where he was a great LB, and Sean Payton to Denver. Interestingly it looks like Denver tried to land Ryans today trying to get him to reconsider his Houston commitment but when that didn't work they went to Payton.

Kyle Shanahan is pretty amazing with QBs but think it will have to be their defense and special teams leading the way today. Best shots offensively are getting McCaffery and Samuel loose on a screen or reverse or something.

Certainly are. Believe they have wins over at the time the #1 team in AA and A when they beat Wayzata and Hermantown. -
Did what we should do against a bad team wait I mean terrible program. Good to see a number of young guys get on the scoresheet. Still a very long and dangerous climb to get out of the crater we created, gotta be very close to perfect.

Michigan wins 5-4 in OT, hope to see them and Minnesota face each other again

Minnesota and Michigan headed to OT tied at 4. Great hockey.

Soft play and blown coverage give Duluth their first goal and an atrocious turnover and out of control goalie give them the game winner. Had some great chances but couldn't convert both Blake and Albrecht had 2 great looks each and they missed. DeRidder made some solid saves but the game winner is part of why I can't stand him. He his always flopping/diving around out of control and has no idea where he is in the net, if he is in control and stays positionally sound that puck hits him easily on the game winner. The other part is he has absolutely no idea where the puck is going when it hits him, without a doubt among the worst rebound control I've ever seen from a college goaltender. This program is in a real bad place right now and I feel really needs a change in leadership. It is the same stuff over and over again which means either the coaches aren't recognizing the problems or they aren't getting their message through to the players and whichever of the two it is its a major problem. I had Minnesota/Michigan on one of my other TVs and found myself drawn to that game much more. The level of play looked like JV/Varsity between the two games.

Thought we were much better in the dzone, more focus on not just being near guys but being in them and their sticks. Pretty good job of limiting grade A chances. Goaltending was what it has been for much of the year. Some horrendous rebounds and kinda all over the place outta control but did enough to get a win. Created some really dominant stretches offensively but you’d still like to cash in on a few more opportunities.

I loved Arraez. I understand the Twins thinking though that they are selling high on him and could be coming off a career year. Lopez seems like a solid pitcher but don't think he is the true ace they need.

Chicago will be better ton of cap room+some high draft picks and imagine they'll trade one for even more picks. Detroit should be the favorite to win the division. Vikings don't have to go full reset but they're gonna have to tweak things especially defensively and a big part of that will be the big name guys either renegotiating their deals or being cut. Hunter, Smith, and Kendricks especially they just don't produce what they are paid. Vikings have to get faster defensively, their front 7 had to be the slowest in the NFL.

It was easy to see early in the season this Vikings team wasn't a true contender with the defense and Donatell. It was severely flawed in a few areas but really didn't try to alter things in season and let the wins cover up the deficiencies. 13 wins and a NFC North Championship is absolutely a overachievement when looking at this team for me. I did think they could sneak by the Giants but it was ending in San Francisco next week barring a series of miracles. This loss isn't really surprising and really doesn't even hurt that much. Gotta imagine a ton of changes both in personnel and staff. Some long tenured guys that we could've seen the last of in a Viking jersey today unless they redo their contracts Hunter, Kendricks, H. Smith, Peterson, Thielen, Cook. Man that schedule next year Chargers, Chiefs, Niners, @ Eagles, @ Bengals.

This just isn't a very good hockey team and it starts with not having a capable D1 goalie on the roster. Scored enough to win but dzone is a problem and you won't win many college hockey games when your goaltender allows a weak goal let alone 3. Berry is now gonna have the program at a point of missing 3 of the last 5 NCAA Tournaments which just isn't remotely close to good enough. It is time to make the move.

Thought James had a tough night so not surprised to see him out tonight but thought Matteo did some good things so not a fan of yanking him out of the lineup again. Johnson getting the start to night feels like the desperation move of nothing else has worked so lets give it a try. Almost like you are hoping he can lead a miracle run to the NCAA Tournament and it would be a great story but to me it is more a indictment on where this program is at in the moment and it isn't a good place.
