  1. That wasn't a missed call broadcasters even said it was a good no call as the guy was just trying to jump around Stoner and they collided. Kind of expecting a real good 3rd out of Koivu as he was real angry after he was highsticked in the face and it drew blood and he usually plays much better angry. Suter looked to get hurt when him and Hossa both fell to the ice late in the 2nd and if he can't come back and misses extended time I'd say the series is pretty much over. Hawks really do a great job of taking away lanes and making it tough for the Wild to get the puck to the net.
  2. Big missed hook/slash call on Keith to take away a breakaway a chance from Haula that shoulda resulted in a penalty shot. If you are gonna call the weak slash by Heatley you have to call that on Keith. I also see the that the Wild made the move to sit Prosser after 2 real bad games and have Ballard in tonight who hasn't played in 2 months. I like the move by Yeo to switch Nino and Moulson around too.
  3. They also mentioned on the sports last night that if a player signs a tender he must play in 55% of a teams games or something like that. The Force must not of had to give up their 1st round draft pick to tender Yon though as they took Kyle Sylvester of Warroad with their 1st round pick.
  4. The Minnesota '98 class looks to have some pretty good potential. Of the 124 picks in the USHL Phase 1 draft tonight I believe 21 high school/bantam players from Minnesota were selected along with 5 more from Shattuck and 1 player from MN had already been tendered before the draft. Another name that was drafted that caught my eye was Cole Thompson who is Keaton's brother but it seemed a little strange it listed his school as The Hockey Academy but I believe he played in Devils Lake this year.
  5. Crosby gets his 1st goal of this postseason to give the Pens a 1-0 lead.
  6. A USHL phase 1 draft preview including a number of potential future recruits from OverTheBoards. http://overtheboards.net/ushl-phase-1-draft-1998s/
  7. Mitchell Mattson selected 9th overall by Bloomington in the USHL phase 1 draft.
  8. Not sure if the rosters are completely accurate with which players are actually playing games in the playoffs but according to http://stats.nhlnumbers.com/teams Pittsburgh has the highest of the remaining teams followed by Montreal, Chicago, Boston, Anaheim, Minnesota, New York, and LA.
  9. Crawford has become consistently good and shows up pretty big when it counts especially the last 2 seasons.
  10. That is kind of what I'm trying to say OK from Bryz isn't gonna be good enough against the Hawks most nights and that is what it really comes down to. Looking forward to see how the Wild perform coming home as I would think the Hawks will be much better acclimated to playing in an atmosphere like The X than the Avs were and I wouldn't expect a repeat of games 3 and 4 of that series. The Hawks have done a good job on the top players for the Wild both last year and so far this year in the playoffs so it will be interesting to see if they can find the scoresheet in game 3. Important for the Wild to have a good 1st period since they haven't in the first 2 games and it would be huge for the Wild to score first.
  11. Yes I realize where the shot was from I've played a ton of hockey. After watching it another couple times the deflection was almost right as he shot it and had even less affect than I first thought. It was a shot the could've been saved without it being an amazing save when the Wild absolutely needed him to come up with one. There are a number of goalies who would've come up with that save and that is what the Wild are lacking right now. I don't see anything that is really so crazy, funny, or ridiculous about these posts, there are a number of people who have said Brygalov has been very average in these first 2 games and that's exactly what I'm saying. Average isn't good enough in the playoffs especially against a team like the Hawks and when you have a goalie like Crawford on the other end.
  12. The 2nd one where there was barely a deflection and he had a clean look at it and just as I'm typing he actually comes up with a big and timely save on Kane.
  13. Wild get another goal from a lower tier forward in McCormick to make it 2-1. Then Crawford comes up with a big save on Parise when the Hawks had to have it. Wild really need to their top guys to start showing up on the score sheet in this series.
  14. That save has to be made when you have all the momentum like that. When the Hawks need Crawford to come up with a big save you can count on it while when the Wild need Bryz to good luck.
  15. Saad gives the Hawks a 2 goal lead after the Wild had been buzzing a little bit. That is where you need your goalie to come up with a save and keep the momentum with you instead it gets by him and all the momentum goes back to the Hawks.
  16. Bryz hasn't gave up a bad one yet today but he looks very shaky making any save right now and his giving up some huge rebounds.
  17. Hawks look to be a lot more crisp than Friday which was expected and really shut the Wild down that period. If the Wild had any thoughts of re-signing Moulson I think that may just be going away with how horrible he has looked in the postseason.
  18. Bryzgalov actually comes up with a big save on a breakaway by Hossa but Toews beats Koivu to the lose rebound and the Hawks strike first. All started with Prosser not being able to get the puck deep and then Stoner has no idea that Hossa was behind him for the breakaway pass.
  19. You know he is no longer the Rangers coach right? He was the coach of the Canucks this year and has already been fired from that job.
  20. I live in NW Minnesota so I don't have to hear that stuff from the cities media for every loss but I can imagine it would get sickening. I was really just talking about the reffing being bad in general both ways for most of the Colorado series and the only game that could really be blamed on it was game 6. As for the goaltending Bryzgalov just doesn't give me a lot of confidence as a Wild fan and its more because it looks like he plays with no confidence and is always out of position rather than some of the goals he has actually given up and who knows even with someone else in the net the Hawks still could have very well won game 1 I just know that the chances improve if Kuemper is in the net and it seems like the team plays much more confident in front of him as well.
  21. The 2nd goal or the 4th goal? The 2nd was a nice pass but you gotta at least make the guy make a shot. Bryzgalov didn't even know where the puck was the save could have been made by a lot of goalies while the 4th was the Smith deflection to Kane alone on the backdoor because Prosser was lost and no goalie had a chance. I don't know why you say they keep making excuses when the things you brought up were facts. The reffing was horrible in the Colorado series and Bryzgalov isn't a very good goalie. I don't think anyone is talking about going out and getting a goalie they are just hoping that Kuemper or Harding can get back in there because that gives the Wild a much better chance to win. I do agree that they do lack a little bit on defense and that is why I've said their biggest need this offseason isn't a guy like Vanek it is a solid defenseman like Niskanen. The Wild played well enough to win except in the area that usually matters most and that is between the pipes.
  22. I think he probably will but the bigger need is a defenseman, maybe someone like Niskanen. Maybe they have enough cap room for both but I would definitely rather have them get a top defenseman over Vanek.
  23. Figured you probably knew already but sarcasm is hard to detect on the internet and I've heard enough stupid people try to say how great it is that a little school with no scholarships can win an NCAA Championship that I'm real sick of hearing that misconception about schools like Union. Love the Little Giants comparison by the way, now I'm gonna have to find that movie and watch it again.
  24. I was only born for a few years before they moved so I don't know how much of an actual fan you could say I was but my Dad had me watching the North Stars games and I'm a Wild fan now.
  25. I would think the Sioux have interest in top '99 D Max Gildon and some good news as he wasn't selected until the 3rd round of the WHL draft when most everybody thought he would go top 5 so could be a good sign for his NCAA prospects.
