  1. Bryz hasn't gave up a bad one yet today but he looks very shaky making any save right now and his giving up some huge rebounds.
  2. Hawks look to be a lot more crisp than Friday which was expected and really shut the Wild down that period. If the Wild had any thoughts of re-signing Moulson I think that may just be going away with how horrible he has looked in the postseason.
  3. Bryzgalov actually comes up with a big save on a breakaway by Hossa but Toews beats Koivu to the lose rebound and the Hawks strike first. All started with Prosser not being able to get the puck deep and then Stoner has no idea that Hossa was behind him for the breakaway pass.
  4. You know he is no longer the Rangers coach right? He was the coach of the Canucks this year and has already been fired from that job.
  5. I live in NW Minnesota so I don't have to hear that stuff from the cities media for every loss but I can imagine it would get sickening. I was really just talking about the reffing being bad in general both ways for most of the Colorado series and the only game that could really be blamed on it was game 6. As for the goaltending Bryzgalov just doesn't give me a lot of confidence as a Wild fan and its more because it looks like he plays with no confidence and is always out of position rather than some of the goals he has actually given up and who knows even with someone else in the net the Hawks still could have very well won game 1 I just know that the chances improve if Kuemper is in the net and it seems like the team plays much more confident in front of him as well.
  6. The 2nd goal or the 4th goal? The 2nd was a nice pass but you gotta at least make the guy make a shot. Bryzgalov didn't even know where the puck was the save could have been made by a lot of goalies while the 4th was the Smith deflection to Kane alone on the backdoor because Prosser was lost and no goalie had a chance. I don't know why you say they keep making excuses when the things you brought up were facts. The reffing was horrible in the Colorado series and Bryzgalov isn't a very good goalie. I don't think anyone is talking about going out and getting a goalie they are just hoping that Kuemper or Harding can get back in there because that gives the Wild a much better chance to win. I do agree that they do lack a little bit on defense and that is why I've said their biggest need this offseason isn't a guy like Vanek it is a solid defenseman like Niskanen. The Wild played well enough to win except in the area that usually matters most and that is between the pipes.
  7. I think he probably will but the bigger need is a defenseman, maybe someone like Niskanen. Maybe they have enough cap room for both but I would definitely rather have them get a top defenseman over Vanek.
  8. Figured you probably knew already but sarcasm is hard to detect on the internet and I've heard enough stupid people try to say how great it is that a little school with no scholarships can win an NCAA Championship that I'm real sick of hearing that misconception about schools like Union. Love the Little Giants comparison by the way, now I'm gonna have to find that movie and watch it again.
  9. I was only born for a few years before they moved so I don't know how much of an actual fan you could say I was but my Dad had me watching the North Stars games and I'm a Wild fan now.
  10. I would think the Sioux have interest in top '99 D Max Gildon and some good news as he wasn't selected until the 3rd round of the WHL draft when most everybody thought he would go top 5 so could be a good sign for his NCAA prospects.
  11. I know this is a joke but you do know players at places like Union are basically on scholarships just like a player at UND or Minnesota they just don't call it a scholarship. Really seems stupid to me that national media like ESPN made such a big deal of Union not having any scholarships like the players have to pay their full tuition when in reality they have pretty much everything paid for just like the rest of their D1 competitiors.
  12. Looks like you get your wish Pelfrey to the DL and Deduno into the rotation. Twins also called up their top SS prospect Danny Santana so I would think he would get a shot to take over that job as the Twins SS are very underwhelming. Hopefully guys like Meyer and May will be up soon enough too.
  13. I'm the same way, was young when there was no team in Minnesota and Chicago was the team I followed. When the Wild came back and being able to see every game of theirs and have so much exposure to them they went right back to being #1 for me. I agree I have no confidence at all in Bryzgalov and he is almost always out of position and shaky. There were definitely other mistakes too from the Wild but I thought Bryzgalov was again bad last night especially if you compare him to Crawford. Kane made a great rush for that 3rd goal but that is a shot that has to be stopped as there is nowhere else he can go with that and Brodin shoulda played it a lot better too. Also thought the first Hawks goal was kind of weak despite the deflection and the 2nd was a nice pass for the goal but Bryz shoulda at least been able to find the puck, nothing he could do about the 4th goal as Prosser just was lost in d zone coverage yet again and he is one I hope is scratched on Sunday.
  14. Wow did Prosser get lost on that Kane goal, aside from in the nets the other big advantage for the Hawks over the Wild is their depth defensively. Not a real bad game from the Wild they had a lot of chances and Crawford was very good but whoever is in the net for the Wild will have to be better and they have to cut down on some of those little mistakes or it will be a 2-0 lead for the Hawks after Sunday.
  15. Haula is really having another good game for the Wild. Who would have guessed Stoner and Brodziak would both have goals in the same playoff game. Nice rush by Kane to give the Hawks the lead back but Bryzgalov just can't give that type of goal up and Brodin could have played it a lot better.
  16. Crawford looking very sharp for the Hawks as for Bryzgalov for the Wild not so much. Hawks PP seems to have found life afer being horrible in the series against St.Louis. Wild have had some real nice chances but Crawford has come up big everytime, seems like the Wild have really missed the net a lot tonight too.
  17. Really wasn't much explanation on it. I really didn't think Malkin got Lundquist's glove much at all and Lundquist kind of just tried to sell it but didn't get the call.
  18. *Trevor Olson
  19. As a fan of both the Wild and the Hawks I could honestly see either team winning this series and I think it has a decent chance to go 7. The key to the series is goaltending and specifically if Bryzgalov can give the Wild a chance to win at least until Kuemper can get back or maybe even Harding if Kuemper can't get back as Harding did practice today. If Bryzgalov gives up some of the soft goals he did against Colorado though it might be a pretty quick series. I was a little surprised the NHL decided to start the series tonight rather than tomorrow with the Wild not finishing their 1st round series until late Wednesday. The Hawks should have the advantage tonight being at home and being well rested.
  20. Could be a lot of things that contributed to it my best guess would be he played a very long season for the 1st time in his career. He went pretty much straight from playing in a huge high school state tournament with guys he has played with for years to some NAHL team where he only knows a couple guys and didn't have much time for adjustment at all. Watching his high school games he played a lot of minutes and didn't do a whole lot in the defensive end but I think that was more to conserve energy when he could. He made the plays he needed to defensively but will need to improve some there and I think he will. Yon is a player who is best offensively and really when he has the puck on his stick. 1 or 2 years in the USHL and he should be ready to play at UND, even if he doesn't become great defensively in the USHL as long as he can at least be average his pure goal scoring ability should make up for some of it.
  21. I agree with the Minnesota coaches on this. The only thing that should really matter is the letter of intent and that is the way it is in every other sport. Schools are already not following the "gentleman's agreement' anyway as can be seen by the number of BC recruits who had committed elsewhere first. Schools like Minnesota, BC, UND, and Michigan are gonna be able to get a kid to flip their commitment from a smaller school if they really want them so why wouldn't they be in favor of the only thing mattering being the letter of intent.
  22. Subban gets his 2nd of the game on the powerplay to win it. PK and Price were at their best for the Habs tonight and they definitely needed them to be.
  23. Carey Price has been fantastic tonight, Bruins could have easily got the winner at least a few times in that OT but Price came up huge. Big opportunity for Montreal with the powerplay to start the 2nd OT.
  24. I was hoping they would bring up Meyer for the spot start in game 2 of the doubleheader today. If he keeps pitching as well as he has they can't keep him down too much longer. Correia and Pelfrey are the two that I am real sick of and think they should either trade them if they can get anything or just go ahead and release them otherwise.
  25. Anyone catch the Bergeron hip check? I didn't think it was horrible but I didn't think Cooke's knee was real bad either. Lot of Montreal fans are pretty upset about Bergeron going after the knee and I can kind of see what they are saying and can see why they would think there was intent there but there is probably a little overreaction on the Montreal fans end although that definitely wouldn't be the first time for that.
