  1. They should probably suspend all the non-UND students from attending non-UND sponsored events. Seems like that would have solved the majority of this problem.
  2. Wonder what percentage of 7th round draft picks historically make 53 man rosters and/or practice squads? I think a lot of teams were hesitant to draft him not from the media reaction and spectacle we are seeing with the Rams right now, but what will happen if he isn't able to make the team and has to be cut. I know Fisher said that he they won't hesitate to cut him but guessing the general population isn't aware that late round picks routinely don't make rosters.
  3. Knew I shouldn't have put so much trust in the Herald to get things right: From what has been told here, that does not appear to be the case. Pictures definitely weren't taken at the park and the people in question claim the shirts weren't worn to the park And no mention that UND has no control of or relation to the event, therefore no standing to do anything about it. Not excusing the kids for a monumental lack in judgment, but if you are going to sit and criticize the situation, have your facts straight.
  4. I can't see anywhere that it shows it was banned. The Principle of Community at Dartmouth is described as "a statement of aspirations and values and not a promulgation of rules, it cannot be the basis of a disciplinary hearing." It relates to students only and violating it, in itself, carries no weight. While I don't doubt your firsthand knowledge, there is a ton of Dartmouth Indian gear for sale online, someone must be buying it and wearing it somewhere. And I can't see anything that shows it is actually banned from being worn on the campus. It may be frowned upon by some if you do, but there is nothing they would be able to do about it.
  5. I have a hard time buying the idea that UND would ever ban someone from wearing Fighting Sioux logo. It is even harder to fathom considering that they continue to own the trademarks and in order to keep those in good standing, must occasionally release apparel or other items with those logos on them in order to keep control of the trademark, which they do under the Dacotah Legacy Collection line.
  6. Not really what I was alluding, just curious if they were from the area, but I see where you thought I was going. I do agree with your second statement. That's fine to be outraged and express your opinion but basing your arguments on factually incorrect statements discredits and overshadows your message. Then again, counting on the media to fact-check things like UND's actual involvement might be a pipe dream so why not spin it in a way that makes it more sensational to the media.
  7. Just curious if you're willing to share, what schools do the other 8 attend?
  8. Kelley already issued a statement and I think that his response is accurate. UND has no standing to act on this and could end opening themselves up to their own set of issue if they did.
  9. Weird that you didn't bring it up like you do for all other teams though. Only responded because it was brought up by someone else.
  10. Grantland had a pretty good article and it addressed that exact comment and makes some interesting points for both sides of the argument:
  11. Correct, women's hockey has had an issue with it more than once. I don't know off the top of my head, but guessing it has to do with a different education system and the equivalencies to ensure that they meet minimum standards.
  12. Clearinghouse can be a nightmare.
  13. Pretty sweet system though. If he's wrong when he "breaks" something it's because he was using reverse psychology. If he isn't the first to bring something up, it's because he was withholding it. Can't lose.
  14. Heard it was being discussed over horseracing this weekend, but there were no inside scoops at the time.
  15. People proclaim the Big Sky's complete media package (Big Sky TV) as being superior to what the MVFC/Summit have, where all football, men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball games are available for free over the internet (minus the weekly football game airing on Root). Feel free to elaborate how it isn't.
  16. Odd that NDSU very badly wanted Hooker just a year ago. Not sure how much I'd read into numbers of a true freshman playing in a senior dominated rotation. He looked pretty good when he was called on. Definitely more than Dupree, who NDSU will be counting on next year. Tyler had decent numbers in a terrible offense at UMKC, I think he'll be just fine. Not sure where you get the castoff part, he very much left on his own terms.
  17. Correct. UND has 63 scholarships that can be split up among 85 players Going into fall camp, there is a limit of 30 new players receiving financial aid.
  18. Glad you are able to prove your point with hypotheticals instead of actual proof.
  19. Just because UND's won in everything they've competed against NDSU this year doesn't mean the teams are satisfied. Pretty easy to dismiss head to head victories when you don't have any recent ones to hang your hat on. Pretty sure it was legendary FU coach Rocky Hager who was the one that said a season was a failure if they lost to UND.
  20. Staff wasn't completely new. Richman was very familiar with the kid.
  21. What does football have to do with any of this? If NDSU wouldn't have got beaten out on Shanks by UND, they wouldn't have to poach kids from D2 schools at the last minute.
  22. Why would he have been looking for a better situation? And doubtful he thought he was going to come in and play as a true freshman and if he had that illusion, its on the staff. Guessing if he wanted to play right away he could have held out for an offer that would have provided him that instead of signing with NDSU so early. Wonder how that "mutual" decision was reached since as of two weeks ago, he was still a solid commit.
  23. They compete and fund hockey at the D1 level. Does your NCAA basketball win mean less since you fund football at the FCS level instead of the FBS level?
  24. Not arguing that, Hendrickson had some key runs in that game and built on a record setting performance from the week before. Just pointing out that Hanson didn't play against San Diego St.
