As opposed to opinions elsewhere?
-
He accepted in April 2011 when GT offered a home/home. Not 2 years later. Not with a counter-proposal for any games more than the 2 in 2015/2017. He responded to GT's e-mail saying that what GT proposed will work for UND.
-
Not at all and it wasn't from a current or former player. And I didn't say that he won the starting spot, but based on performance in spring ball, he had a good shot at being the #1 going into fall camp. The QB position was and still is far from settled. He had already decided he was transferring to a JuCo to try to play FBS though (Sioux Football Insiders have reported this part as well). I felt comfortable enough with where I got the information to post it, mainly with the point that his leaving was a bigger loss than most people (myself included) would originally think.

Interesting. Quite different from what I was told but at this point doesn't really matter. Hopefully Molberg and Bartels put in some work with the WR's over the summer, both positions are going to be a little short on experience this fall.
-
Was told that he was the leader for starting coming out of spring ball and headed into the fall camp but he had his mind set on playing FBS already.

Trying to impersonate another poster seems pretty "lunatic fringe" to me.
-
Doubtful since he already posts here under the exact same name and has for years.

Not making light of it and if it really did happen, its unfortunate. I've personally never witnessed people throwing food at others and have attended many of the UND/NDSU games with fans from both teams. I'd have no problem telling a UND fan they were way out of line if I witnessed it. As for the verbal comments, that isn't limited to a single fan base, I've heard stuff like that from many different ones, NDSU and UND both included. For the record, I believe the only fan removed from the UND/NDSU basketball game this year was a "gentleman" who was "screaming yellow".

Losing is never fun.
-
Please tell me that this is something GT actually said.
-
Then come out and say it and quit pretending there is some sort of negotiating going on. The only guarantee games Faison has ever agreed to have payouts that exceed what GT and FU can afford. And speaking of moving on, if what you said is true, there is no need for the FU trolls to continue posting on the subject.

Ernst threw a heck of a game and was the only reason it was close. Pitched out of quite a few jams, 13 baserunners in 7 1/3 and only giving up 2 runs is getting some timely outs. Oregon State's threw their #3 pitcher and he absolutely dominated. 14 strikeouts in 8 innings isn't too shabby, I believe it set a post-season record for OSU. Of note, Ernst threw against UND a few weeks ago and gave up 10 hits and 3 runs in 5 innings, striking out one. In the humor department: Dom Izzo tweeted this from Sirius's coverage. #buttmediadarlings

Can likely shut this thread down. Heard from an NDSU buddy that GT was talking scheduling recently at some event and he isn't going to offer/accept anything that would be regarded as remotely reasonable for both sides. Maybe he was playing to the crowd but doubtful. Not sure why he won't just come out and publicly state it but also not a surprise.

The price is in line, but I don't see Faison agreeing to anything short of a home/home and I'd personally be disappointed if he did. In regards to scheduling that far out, UND already only has one more game to scheduled for both 2017 and 2018 so 2019 is not that far out of what Faison is looking at for availability (along with the open date in 2015 he has held for NDSU). The open spots in 2017 and 2018 fit into the mold of spots where Faison has gotten guarantee games with UND bringing someone in, I don't see a 2-for-1 happening. GT signed the Montana contract in 2009, that was 5 years out at the time, same time as his return game would be and he is able to close out his 2015 schedule almost a year when its been finalized in the past .
-
How are you funding the increased cost plus the matching funds on the women's side? That is where the discussion begins and ends.
-
Which is at least around $50K less than NDSU has been paying, of course he'd take a home game at a discount price for himself. Faison has never taken a one-time guarantee away game unless it has been against an FBS school and has a payday much larger than NDSU is able to offer. Not sure why they don't agree to a deal for 2015/2019. NDSU gets their 6th home game in 2015 (no FBS though) and travel to UND in a 12 game season so that it doesn't interfere with their "scheduling template", models very similarly what they did with Weber this year except they get the home game first. Buyout of $500K minimum.

They tried, Obama and the State Department wouldn't deport him! -
Its your fans who say a home/home can't be done because the "scheduling template" needs to be followed every year. Just pointing out that its not a hard and fast rule.
-
If you FU negotiating power, they wouldn't have to sign a home/home and travel to Weber State to get a return game. They haven't signed any special contracts that no one else would have been able to get. Also, Faison has offered 2019 as one of the return dates for a home/home. If you're going to keep pretending that there was 2 years between the original negotiation and a contract showing up on GT's desk, than I'm going to keep bringing up the actual known facts, there was communication between the two. Faison didn't randomly draw up a contract without any input from GT.
-
How is that power? Signing a home/home is something that happens regularly, Faison has been doing it for years with FCS schools. If you had this power you thought you did, you would have been able to get Weber to show up next year plus had someone else come in this year, not have to got to Weber. UND must have similar power since it got to 12 games this year by signing a home/home with Stony Brook and Missouri State. NDSU isn't negotiating from some perceived position of power. You're forgetting that in May 2012 GT told Izzo that the series was close to resuming and due to him talking to the media, Faison got questioned about it and confirmed it was still a home/home. On top of that, Faison accepted GT's offer for a home/home when he made in 2011, though apparently the dates were not settled.
-
What "power" is it that FU has to negotiate? GT paid D-2 teams almost $200K to come to Fargo. He signed a home/home with Weber St who is historically a very average football team. Explain to me which part of these deals show this magical power?
-
When you're done sorting through this thread, there are a handful on the FU site you can work on. Might be easiest to start with the one that has over 4,000 posts and almost 300,000 views.
-
Have you looked ahead to your 2015 schedule yet? A whole one year away and your "scheduling template" excuse doesn't hold up.
-
Curious why you bring it up but won't say any names and give any of your "inside" info other than trying to stir the pot. If your going to air someone's laundry, at least have the courage to do it. Happened over a month and a half ago, good old boys a little slow on the draw? Still being sorted out from what I understand.

Didn't necessarily break any rules but as previous stated, the conference doesn't currently meet the minimum requirements for an autobid. It was only granted due to a waiver.
