  1. What does football have to do with any of this? If NDSU wouldn't have got beaten out on Shanks by UND, they wouldn't have to poach kids from D2 schools at the last minute.
  2. Why would he have been looking for a better situation? And doubtful he thought he was going to come in and play as a true freshman and if he had that illusion, its on the staff. Guessing if he wanted to play right away he could have held out for an offer that would have provided him that instead of signing with NDSU so early. Wonder how that "mutual" decision was reached since as of two weeks ago, he was still a solid commit.
  3. They compete and fund hockey at the D1 level. Does your NCAA basketball win mean less since you fund football at the FCS level instead of the FBS level?
  4. Not arguing that, Hendrickson had some key runs in that game and built on a record setting performance from the week before. Just pointing out that Hanson didn't play against San Diego St.
  5. Hanson didn't play against San Diego State, he was injured and Hendrickson played. He had a great game outside of the pick-6 he threw in UND's first offensive play of the game.
  6. That is some interesting spin. Why would NDSU offer and then sign a kid that early if they had concerns about him still developing? And the kid had a very good senior year, curious what he didn't progress on. I guess its a win/win for NDSU. If the kid ends up blowing up his senior season, he's already locked in at NDSU. If not, tell him he won't play and release him from his NLI. I understand the offer aspect of it, those get pulled all the time for various reasons. What I don't get is the part where they were confident enough that they had him sign his NLI early in his senior year and it prevented him from being recruited by other schools. It would make a little more sense if the coaching staff was completely new, but from what I was understand, Richman was the one the recruited him.
  7. I found it interesting that they released a player from his NLI who, from what I understand, Richman was key in recruiting originally. Also found it entertaining that the experts they have talked him up for over a year on how he was such a steal and NDSU was lucky to get him to commit early and then promptly dismissed him being released as a positive for both parties like it was no big deal, especially after recently stating that all 4 players were still committed despite the coaching change.
  8. Seems like there are quite a few players facing adversity for the first time as it relates to football and taking the way out and not dealing with it. Unfortunate but will be exciting to get some players who are hungry and want a chance to prove themselves.
  9. I assume another Shay connection.
  10. Also of note, it was his first career start for UND.
  11. But Gomez did throw a fit because Cole called him out and then turned around to walk back to the mound. If Cole wants to chirp Gomez, all Gomez has to do is stand on third and smirk. He doesn't have to lose his head. Players trash talk all the time, Gomez took it to another level, like he has a history of doing.
  12. Punter Brett Cameron (2008-2012) and LB Curtis Deblanko (2006-2010) were probably the last two big contributors outside of Bamba (2008-2009). Donovan Alexander (2003-2007) was also a pretty solid get out of Winnipeg.
  13. Not in UND's favor: He's already experienced missing almost a full year already because of injury and he isn't exactly a giant out there, especially with how physical his play was as the season wore on.
  14. I think I have a better handle on it than assuming that it will be exactly how a high school did it or that one person has the power to arbitrarily pick whatever they want.
  15. Despite all the Kelley hate on here (some deserved, most not), he's a very smart individual. Whatever nickname chosen won't be popular, especially initially, but there will be significant input by many groups. This isn't and won't be a rubber-stamped agenda item by Kelley.
  16. Thank you for confirming you don't have much of an idea on the matter.
  17. UND is in no way comparable to Central High School, nor will the process be. There is a lot more money and people with very vested interests involved. And if you don't think Kelley, president of the University, should have his voice heard, then you are in for a rude awakening. Considering there are still quite a few details to be ironed out about what will actually happen and how it will happen, I'll reserve trying to run down Kelley until it actually might make sense to do rather than doing it for no reason.
  18. Guessing his opinions and insight will be heard, as they should be, along with all the others on the committee. Maybe you can start a "Fire Kelley" thread to get him removed before the process if it makes you feel better.
  19. There will be a committee of people who ultimately make the final decision, not a single individual, and they will get input from all viewpoints (alumni/students/faculty/etc).
  20. They played over a 4 year span and last year's 35-28 victory by the Jacks was a far cry from a thumping. Surprised that since SDSU opted for a D3 team that they didn't schedule UW-Lacrosse to try to even the series after that loss a few years back.
  21. You have an odd fascination with cup checks lately in a thinly veiled attempt to defend what Chara Lucic did.
  22. I thought we just went over another FU fan saying that numbers was the best way to prove who was better? All the double standards have me confused as well. *For the record, Kupp is really good. But his worst game of the year came against UND. 2 catches tied for his lowest of the year and his second lowest yards in a game was 65. He also scored a TD in every single game except for the semi-finals.
  23. You sure about that? Why would either party agree to that? KVLY is taking on all the costs (and thus the risk) by producing so why would they share what they are earning and why wouldn't NDSU guarantee themselves a set amount every year regardless of what KVLY does? That would be pretty non-standard if correct unless there is some other reason behind it.
  24. How much does KVLY pay NDSU for their media rights?
