Despite all the Kelley hate on here (some deserved, most not), he's a very smart individual. Whatever nickname chosen won't be popular, especially initially, but there will be significant input by many groups. This isn't and won't be a rubber-stamped agenda item by Kelley.
-
Thank you for confirming you don't have much of an idea on the matter.
-
UND is in no way comparable to Central High School, nor will the process be. There is a lot more money and people with very vested interests involved. And if you don't think Kelley, president of the University, should have his voice heard, then you are in for a rude awakening. Considering there are still quite a few details to be ironed out about what will actually happen and how it will happen, I'll reserve trying to run down Kelley until it actually might make sense to do rather than doing it for no reason.
-
Guessing his opinions and insight will be heard, as they should be, along with all the others on the committee. Maybe you can start a "Fire Kelley" thread to get him removed before the process if it makes you feel better.
-
There will be a committee of people who ultimately make the final decision, not a single individual, and they will get input from all viewpoints (alumni/students/faculty/etc).

They played over a 4 year span and last year's 35-28 victory by the Jacks was a far cry from a thumping. Surprised that since SDSU opted for a D3 team that they didn't schedule UW-Lacrosse to try to even the series after that loss a few years back.

You have an odd fascination with cup checks lately in a thinly veiled attempt to defend what Chara Lucic did.
-
I thought we just went over another FU fan saying that numbers was the best way to prove who was better? All the double standards have me confused as well. *For the record, Kupp is really good. But his worst game of the year came against UND. 2 catches tied for his lowest of the year and his second lowest yards in a game was 65. He also scored a TD in every single game except for the semi-finals.
-
You sure about that? Why would either party agree to that? KVLY is taking on all the costs (and thus the risk) by producing so why would they share what they are earning and why wouldn't NDSU guarantee themselves a set amount every year regardless of what KVLY does? That would be pretty non-standard if correct unless there is some other reason behind it.
-
How much does KVLY pay NDSU for their media rights?

I'd guess there are at least 4-5 starters next year who aren't on campus yet. Along with that, the offense hasn't had all that much time in a brand new offense. Withholding forming too much of an opinion based on yesterday.
-
It wasn't last summer... or doesn't Beasley (a decade removed from playing at UND) get his day in court like a current FU starter got when he was originally charged with the same thing?
-
Not too bad. Not sure but I would guess a little bit smaller than last year but more than I expected.

Heard Maverick Edmunds name quite a bit. Made some solid plays.
-
I have a hard time thinking he will considering the NCAA didn't give him a waiver to play immediately when he transferred and I think that is what he's basing his appeal on. On the other hand, Tom Miller has mentioned a few times that he thinks there is a legitimate chance but it would be a late decision. Maybe he has some additional insight.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2014-15 season

That's fine, but those who claim that those coaches that are better than Hak because they've won a title ignore the fact that those coaches have had stretches of losing prior to and after those titles that would not be acceptable here. And maybe Sandelin wouldn't have had down seasons, maybe he would of. Your basing your arguments off of a hypothetical, mine is based off of facts. Hak has never had a single season losing close to that let alone a stretch of it. I don't care what tools you have at your disposal, that is incredibly impressive. That doesn't mean anyone, myself or Hak included, should be satisfied, but it is absurd to think he should be fired. -
Not a fan of any change the moves a first round series off of campus. I would think that UND and the REA would tend to agree. Having 6 teams makes it to MSP means no home playoff games unless you end the season in 5th or 6th place. Having all 8 teams go to MSP means no home playoff games for anyone. The league may make slightly more money having all the teams or 6 of the teams make it to the Target Center, but in the long run, I think the majority of schools would lose money eliminating the possibility of 2-3 extra home games per year. Granted, only half the teams get those games a year but even if you only host once ever 2-3 years, I think you'd still come up ahead compared to the slightly higher revenue the conference would generate with an increased field size at the Target Center. While their run of hosting (and winning) first round playoff series won't last for ever, UND has had an extra 25 home games over the last 10 years because of the current format.

The one constant is that Hak hasn't had down years like all of the others have had (outside of maybe York). Sandelin wouldn't have had the opportunity to win a title at UND, he would have been fired well before that with the previous seasons he had before UMD won a title. -
Makes sense. In their defense, its their 12th game and sounds like they had felt they exhausted all of their options for someone better at home so did what they could to get a 6th home game. Still, yuck.

Kupp wasn't a true freshman, he redshirted in 2012. He is however, extremely good. Having Vernon Adams under center makes him that much more dangerous
-
All hype? Serious? In 2012 they managed to round up a few accolades. Jameer Jackson -Named to the 2012 College Sports Journal Freshman All-America Team -Finalist for the 2012 Jerry Rice Award for FCS Freshman of the Year Greg Hardin -Named to the Sports Network All-America Third Team -Named All-Big Sky First Team -Named the College Football Performance Awards FCS Elite Wide Receiver of the Year -Named to multiple preseason teams Golladay played as a true freshman with a severe high ankle sprain the majority of the year and proved this year he had more talent that both of those guys. The talent UND's WR's had wasn't some made up hype promoted by UND fans. The talent was there, unfortunately it was not at other positions.
-
Is that verified or just assumed? I've seen both being claimed.
-
The NFL sure screws up how they draft WR's then. Just get the guy that had the most catches or most yards coming out of college. WR's can't throw the ball to themselves. You can't be serious that you think that there wouldn't be a difference in production when you go from playing with 2 senior QB's vs. 2 redshirt freshman QB's. And if you look at per game averages for Golladay/Hardin/Jackson, yards and catches per game are in line with the top 3 from EWU.
-
I can see why you'd put them there and have no issue with it but I think they will finish quite a bit higher. Not sure how much, hard to tell with a lot of question marks still out there. I have a feeling UND's roster isn't set for next year either, wouldn't be surprised to see another transfer. Transfers Tyler and Shanks (second half) should help fill the void along with JuCo Coleman. Also Nash getting a 6th year would make a very huge impact, his athleticism for his size is tough to match up with. I think you'll also see UND playing more fundamentally sound and consistent, things that have been missing the last two years. Not sure whether that will add up to wins, but it should at least limit the downside.
