Personal opinion - I would prefer both games in the Betty and a loud, sold out crowd over what would likely be a half-full REA. Also no clue on if dates would even work. I get the draw in playing in the REA but I just think a full BESC is a better atmosphere. I could be swayed if they really felt they could draw a huge crowd but I just don't see it.

Interesting that Golson is graduating and they are still limiting his options that much. Nor is it even remotely the same situation as Nevermann's as he was a walk-on player at WYO and is transferring down a level.

Confirmed that UNI will be playing in Grand Forks the coming season. NDSU will also be on the home schedule. Couple of pretty decent away games including Bradley and Florida Gulf Coast (Dunk City). Was a few other higher profile ones as well but can't remember off the top of my head.

Concrete work continues to be done on what will be the outside edges of the track. The dirt in the middle where the football field will be still had a little frost to come out but they were working the ground to try to try speed it up. I believe they were still on pace to be using it by August 1. Going to be a pretty awesome facility.

The nicknames and logos have changed multiple times over the past century plus, the name of the school hasn't. Also, I believe this would be a combination of stages 1 and 2 of grieving.

They only made it to the G's so Nokota's hasn't been officially excluded even though it didn't make the rough draft cut. I believe that was one of the names that the reasoning it didn't make the original cut was going to be looked into, as was Roughriders. Nokes and Charging Nokotas (as you stated) made the first cut, which means there was likely some sort of confusion somewhere (possibly with the word Nakotas).

In 2006, NDSU (though the NDSU Foundation) bonded $3.5 million for the locker room/coach's office renovation at the Fargodome which was almost the entire cost, and still have $1.7 million plus to pay on it. They also don't have anywhere near the cash on hand for the SHAC, but that project is well under way and they will end up bonding a huge dollar amount for that as well. Full disclosure - UND did the exact same thing though the UND Foundation this past year to be able to get shovels in the ground for the Indoor Practice Facility.

They aren't doing any scoring at this point. They are weeding out the name. To move on, a name needed to receive a single vote, no reasoning needed to be given. They will work on the whittled down list from there. For a marketing expert or whatever, you sure aren't great at understanding how processes that have already been laid out work.

Belichek and Kraft had no knowledge of this incident. And they can't even prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Brady did after spending 4 months investigating. I'm not defending Brady (I believe he likely told the equipment official that he preferred the footballs less inflated but even that can't be proven) but again, you are blowing this out of proportion because of your hatred for NE continuously pounding Miami. What should Miami's punishment being for blatant violations of the tampering rules?

They were appointed, not elected and their job is to what is best for the school. If they determine not to choose a nickname, so be it but claiming "will of the people" thing is a little far-fetched.

I too was pretty disappointed in Brad's take on this. Maybe he hears from hockey fans more than anyone else and that's where his POV is coming from but it would be a colossal mistake in my opinion and feel fairly comfortable that the committee is aware of not picking a new nickname will cause the large majority to hold onto the old one because they have nothing to gravitate towards. Your second paragraph is spot on. People will slowly figure out they are cheering for and supporting a University and not a nickname or logo. I honestly wouldn't start getting too concerned at this stage. Names like those are easily deemed to be not offensive or controversial and at this point, it is a high level look on getting rid of the majority of garbage that was submitted.

I don't think the center hung one would work in the Betty but two similar to the first one would more than fight the bill coupled with the ribbon boards they currently have. Not sure on the HD thing and how it affects the price, but as you stated, the feed is already there.

Odds that genius realizes that Notre Dame plays in a conference in every sport except football? Not to mention there is a strong likelihood they will end up in a football conference in the near future and they only reason they are able to current due it is because NBC pays them $15 million per year just for the football rights. UND gets $1 million total for 5 years from Midco for almost all sports. But these are the people who should have a voice...
