Strategy obviously matters, but so does execution on the players part. Plenty of blame (and credit to go around) Bad snaps in Boise threw off the whole offense. That wasn't an issue at all previously this year and hasn't been since. Untimely turnovers turned the game quickly. Need to play clean. Big game tomorrow, players and coaches need to stay in the moment and execute to their potential.

Patty V on the FCS playoff selection committee process last year: "It sucked" Interesting to hear her openly talk about the commissioners going as far to right a paper outlining expectations, meeting with the selection committee and expanding on their expectations. One of the big things is that strength of schedule will be focused on more and they will at least acknowledge Massey and Sagarin. All good things for the MVFC.
-
They know what they need to do. Just need to execute. Stay in the moment, do you job.

Behind Nokotas, yes. But that one didn't survive the consultants.

Columbia Hall?

What's even a trick play anymore? Screen? Counter? Reverse? Jet-sweep? RPO? Wildcat? Option? All of those include some sort of misdirection or action to deceive the defense. Don't really care what UND runs, just make sure they execute it.

Considering they are currently separate entities, I don't think that will work all that well. I'm sure Heather Weems probably wouldn't appreciate it either. That being said, Fenton, Weems and Viverito will all be doing a panel at the UND Booster Luncheon Friday at the Memorial Union and taking questions. Seems like a good chance to get some of the answers you are looking for.

Directly in line with both Sagarin and Massey.

OK. I guess we need to get the message out to the fans to not be overconfident. It's apparently on them if they do and it turns ugly. Agreed on the second part, though I won't be as shocked as you if they do. They knocked off the #7 team in the country last year, would love to see them do it again.

Who said anything about an empty Alerus Center? The place will be packed and fans are going to show up and cheer loudly. My comment was specifically that what those fans think is not going to directly impact the game, they are going to be heard regardless. And hopefully have an impact with their actions. All I can gather from your comments, which you stated wasn't directed at anyone playing the actual game, is that over-confident fans (or coaches maybe?) is going to lead to an ugly game. Or you're just talking yourself in circles. Again, no one on the field or in a coaching booth thinks that UND will win because NDSU is or isn't having a down year (for them). And I think the jury is still out on that. Anyone tied to the UND team knows they are still underdogs in the game and need to show up and play well to have a shot at knocking off NDSU. Maybe you can clarify directly on who you were referring to about "UND" thinking they can win and that would clear everything up.
-
Then who is "UND" that you reference in your commentary stating it will get ugly if "they" think that they can win simply because NDSU has fallen down to the pack? What the fans think isn't going to have a direct impact on the game.
-
No one that has any involvement in the playing of the actual game thinks this.

The WIU linebacker's ankles that Tommy broke probably beg to differ with your assessment of his ability to run when called upon.
-
Somehow this is an understatement.

$368 out of $500 million goal already raised during the silent phase. Still a long way to go but an amazing start. Huge, huge deal. Lots of momentum behind it. Highly recommend taking the time to learn more and see what this will do for the University.

No one does. People just make things up and parade them around like they are true. If you actually believe half the crap constantly being spewed around here, I don't know what to tell you other than reality is a different dimension than this site, particularly the last 8-10 months or so.

What in my comparison was factually incorrect? And underperformed compared to what exactly? NDSU? Sure, who hasn't? USD since they are a fair comparison, moving to D1 the same time we did and in a similar conference? Nope. Nebraska fans would kill for a winning percentage equal to Bubba's since Pelini left. And Frost didn't have to rebuild from the bottom up, unlike where UND's program was when Bubba took over. Like I said, come up with $500K and your dream of being equal to the Big Red faithful is on its way. Until you have the money, you're just shouting into the abyss because UND isn't firing a coach with 2 years remaining on their contract.
-
Come up with $500K and make all your Nebraska dreams come true. You're on the right path, bringing home a national champion to replace a head coach with a winning record.
-
Tell me more.
-
Tell me more. We're literally talking about product on the field and Nebraska has had 1 winning season in 8 going on 9, a 40% winning percentage and are on their 4th coach (counting one interim) since fans pushed Pelini out (who never won less than 9 games, was 7 for 7 in winning seasons and had a 71% winning percentage). Brilliant move by Nebraska. Really elevated their program....
-
SDSU definitely made the right call not moving on from Stiegelmeier. There's no guarantees on staying the course or making a change. It's almost like the people making the decisions have a lot more information than fans that goes well beyond public information. Nebraska is literally a perfect example of letting fans have way too much input on coaching decisions.
-
I'd be curious where I've "spewed" that at numerous times. Now, are at least a few of you related? While it is a bit odd, I'll still comfortably put my name to that thought process.
-
Almost uncanny. But entirely predictable and not too hard to get them to pop out of the woodwork together.

The team was 2-5 when Camp got benched for Bouman. USD also finished the season 1-3 last year in games he started. That's a completely different situation than where UND is currently sitting. Bouman was also a 4-star FBS transfer in his 3rd year of college football (last season), slightly different pedigree than a true freshman.

Sometimes it isn't all the surprising when how people really feel accidentally leaks through. It is really strange that there is a vocal, core group who seem to enjoy any failure or struggles from UND and the athletics program.
