OK, that's it. NO WAY DO WE SCORE FOUR GOALS IN ONE GAME OR KEEP THIS LEAD.
-
THERE IS NO WAY WE SCORE AGAIN.
-
Yeah, playing from behind again. We need that feeling of despiration. Go Sioux.
-
YEAH. A lead, for once. Keep it up Sioux. My feed is down. Who is in nets?

I think that DaveK's point is that sometimes the best team statistically doesn't win the championship. Grafton pounded Central twice during the regular season but Central is playing for the right to call themselves champions. Simply stated, Grafton lost the one that counted most. Doesn't diminsh the fact that they, South, and Minot had seasons to be proud of. I may be wrong but I got a feeling like a lot of the posters here showing such passion and anger over a high school hockey tournament may have been on the short side of the big one in their own sports career. Get over it.

DaveK, Neither GF or Fargo has the sole market for ahole fans. My guess is that both have their fair share, just like any other community. I always get a kick out of any fans taunting other fans when "their" team wins. Don't think I've ever seen a fan or parent show up in a box score scoring a goal or making a save. Yet, somehow when "your" team wins, you are somehow better than the guy wearing the colors of the losing team. It cracks me up, especially with 8-9 year old kids. How pathetic is that? Sounds like you have the right attitude. Cheer for your team and let the boys (or girls) play. Great story in the GF Herald about the kid from Bismarck who got hurt and couldn't play. That kids attitude is what the HS Tourney is all about.

Can anyone provide updates on NDHS semifinal games? Thanks.

Goon, check your medication levels and climb down from the tree. The arena? WTF. I agree the new Ralph doesn't have the atmosphere but you can't blame that on the coaches or players. I saw the UW-CC game on TV this weekend and the UW fans are nuts. Something needs to be down to get people off the fricken leather seats and cheer. The new AD needs to put the student section down in the lower bowl. The type of recruits we are getting? Parise, Zajac, Spirko, Porter, Stafford, Lammy. Yeah, I guess those guys do suck. I must have missed the announcement that the Sioux are out of the Final 5 and the NCAA's. There are still 4 regular season games and playoffs left. Wait until the season's over for your wouldda, shouldda analysis. I still like our chances. Also, there are no s-bag teams in the WCHA. Just ask CC, DU and the mighty Gophies.

Well said. Geez, after reading through the posts, I'm surprised the sun came up this morning. A lot of hockey yet to be played. Win, lose or draw, I'm looking forward to next weekend. Go Sioux!

I voted for Siouxrock. What ever happened to that guy/girl/alien?
-
Personally, I'd like to see unis with just "North Dakota" on the front and the Sioux logo on the shoulders.

SHAVED Gophers....how's that going to help?!?!

If I remember right, didn't the Gophies all get perms last year in a show of team unity? With that history, I'd have figured they would have all got manicures this year. Hair, no hair, they still suck. -
It's all good Strex. Tonight the Sioux start the roll towards Columbus. CC up 3-0 on Tech in 2nd but trying to kill a 5 on 3.
-
Hate to say it, but I think I'll head downstairs and watch what's on the WE channel with the Mrs. This is down right DEPRESSING. However, on the way down I'll put on my rally cap and expect to see a great comeback when I sign on later.
-
While I don't agree that a loss will mean the end to the season, I do agree that the way the Sioux respond in the 2nd will go a long way in showing what kind of character this team has.
-
CC leading Tech by 1 with about 7 minutes left. CC about to go on PP. McIlhenny just robbed Demet from tying it up. CC follows with empty net goal. 4-2 CC with about a minute to go.

People ripping on PCM for reporting the story are dead wrong. Unlike the rest of us, it is PCM's job to report on college hockey. Like it or not, this story was newsworthy. I'd have lost respect for him had he not reported it. People calling for Greene to be thrown off the team are just plain stupid. I surely don't condone driving under the influence if that is what happened. Hopefully Matt learns his lesson and doesn't do it again. As someone posted, he should be treated like any first time offender. I may be wrong, but I seem to recall another important leader type figure who has a DUI in his past. Maybe we should be stripping the "C" from his chest. My bet is that Greene responds in a positive manner and his teammates rally around him.

The one telling moment of the game last night was after Harrington laid a beautiful check on a Tech player in the first period, he gives a cheap shot cross check to his back on the way up and takes a stupid penalty. Tech scores on the powerplay to go up 1-0 and the rest is history.

Great post JK. Anyone remember the "Kermit Luck Guides our Puck" slogan back in '87 that took us all the way to the title? Since Kermit has now passed to the great beyond, perhaps it is time to summon the karma of some other character to start guiding some pucks into the net. Also, the UND crowd at the CC games was great. Too bad we didn't have a whole lot to cheer about. The "Let's Go Sioux" chant in the third period of Saturdays game was louder than certain occassions at the Ralph. It sure would be nice to find something to get that place rockin again.
-
Thanks man, I needed a good laugh.

Sioux7, You are right on the money. I attended both games. CC took advantage of the few opportunities they had and had great goaltending. The Sioux absolutely dominated Saturdays game, especially the third period. CC must have iced the puck about 15 times. The Sioux had great intensity and effort all weekend. Seeing as the season still has a ways to go, I felt much better about this 1-0 loss than the one to DU that ended last year. We'll be in the mix come March and April. I thought Fabian played really well this weekend. Worked very hard and their line created a lot of chances and drew a few penalties. A CC fan next to me commented that he thought Fabian was the best player on the ice for the Sioux on Friday. He was shocked when I told him that he rarely dresses.
