I am watching DU-SCSU. It's 0-0 after one. Most of the first period was played with one team or another on the power play. DU had two 5-3's. Sounds like this is the way it is going to be this year. Announcers saying how tough it is to get a flow going when always playing special teams.

If Lucia were hired I'd denounce my Sioux allegiance immediately. Looking at that guys roof makes me glad I'm bald. Donnie has to be burning up inside. It's a well known fact that he wants to coach the pros some day. He sees Deano leaving and realizes that he is stuck with a bunch of perm wearing losers for another year. Bummer. The in-the-crease violation can be so stupid. On the goal that was just waived off, the guy in the crease had no effect on the shooter or the goalie. They should have an incidental violation rule.

I'm cheering for Maine. The only plus for Denver winning is to see if Gatorade poured over Gwozdecky's dome makes his hair move. That guy must use the same cranial shellac as George Jones.

Even though they ended up losing the game, I loved the third period of the 2001 NC final. I still remember the shot of the Sioux bench going crazy after they scored to tie it up. And Blais' move to pull the goalie for a 6 on 4 was classic.

This was not what the doctor ordered for my Sioux hangover. Notwithstanding, best of luck to Zach. The kid is not only a special talent on the ice but a real class act off the ice. It was a pleasure watching him play. My only disappointment is that he leaves without a NC ring. He has won at every other level. Oh well, maybe Jordan will let him wear the one he is going to get next year. I love the guys we have coming back.

From someone at last night's game, I totally agree. Parise is a stud. IMO, the Sioux outplayed Denver badly. Just picked a bad time not to bury some changes. Duluth beats Denver by at least 3 goals. I hope Parise and Bochenski stay if nothing more than my selfish reasons to watch them play together another year.

Colorado Springs paper today reports that JPar gets the start tonight. Cover story on what a nice guy Zach Parise is and an article on Sioux goaltenders. Denver article focused on Denver's seniors, Holy Cross on historic season making the tourney for the first time, and Miami on a kid who lost his father in January that has become the inspiration for the team.

We were disappointed to learn that all practice sessions are closed to the public. Appartently a new rule put in place by the NCAA. So far, Colorado Springs has done a terrible job of promoting the Regionals. Nothing in the sports section today. I suspect there to be better coverage starting tomorrow. Also, you'd think they would have some fan events set up but have not seen anything advertised.

Listened to final CC coaches show on the radio tonight and they rehashed Final 5 and previewed upcoming regional. CC radio announcer commented on how all 5 of Minnesota's goals were up high. Said he was walking back to the hotel with Lucia and he asked him what was up with that. Mullet Boy responded that "Brandt flops all over the place". Both then proceeded to say that UND has great forwards but "you never know with their goaltending". The funny part was when they were talking about next year, they were saying how happy they were with their goaltending and only UND had two goalies with better GA. It still surprises me that UND goalies get no respect. Maybe a NC will change that

I've seen the question asked but not answered. If WI or MI or some other lower seed knocks off Maine or BC, do they reseed once they get to the Frozen Four or are the brackets set in stone. In other words, is there any possibility of a Sioux-Gopher final depending on the teams that reach the Frozen Four? I, for one, want another shot at UM. That said, I will be cheering for UMD if the two meet in the regional final.

The difference between Vanek and Parise is that Parise makes players around him better and Vanek is better because of the players around him. Put them both on the Tech roster and Parise is still a Hobey candidate and Vanek is a middle of the road hack with a bad perm.
