Boy, that must have really been a tough decision for Gwozdickhead. To lose his big enforcer for such a tough game. I gotta change my brackets now. I'm going with the Beavers.
-
What I take from all of this is how easy Paukovich has got off for his actions. The whole "he's sorry" bit just doesn't hold water with me. Because of his decisions, you have a young girl who is scared for life and a young man who may never play hockey again. What does Geoffie boy get. Unlimited probation and a two game suspension. Wow, that's justice. Give me a break. I guarantee you that this is not the last incident you will hear about this goon.

Following is a portion of the article now on USCHO. "According to USHR.com, Hirsch and his family are deeply religious, and that his actions may have been related to religious symbolism. He reportedly told teammates that there was a need to exorcise demons from the building, according to USHR.com." If the Gophers score a bunch of goals and win a trip to Columbus this weekend, my guess is that Hirsch has found himself a summer job as an exorcist.

I'm with you Mikie. I can totally visualize what you're telling me. Red Pepper line. I love it. Gotta get me a grinder kit delivered for Friday.

That depends, define "professional". Answer to your question of the day. Top three behind my mommy and GBparkrzz poor wife.

The biggest problem with your post is that Hirsch did not high five anyone leaving the ice. Some fan reached over and tried to high five him. Get your facts straight. As for the nut job comment, that's just bush league. Good luck to Tyler. I'm glad to hear he is back with the team.

I have no problem with UM getting a 1 seed since it was based on the pairwise. Frankly, I think the bigger issue is why DU jumped ahead of CC when pairwise showed otherwise. Let's see, Bemidji State, UNH and Harvard vs. Colgate, Wisconsin and Michigan (in Michigan on an NHL sheet). What bracket would you pick? One problem with the pairwise is that it does not factor in a hot team vs. a cold team. Wins in October and November count just the same as those in February and March. The Gophers played well enough to earn a #1, now let's see if they can back it up.

Looks like the "experts" are about split on the ND/BU game.

All the best to Robbie on his road to recovery. The kid is a class act, on and off the ice. I'm thinking that a nice NC ring will help him through the therapy sessions.

Quote from Jerry York in USCHO.com article. "My fondest wish here is that when the teams are announced tomorrow morning that our four [Hockey East] teams that will make it that we're assigned to different regions," said York. "I really feel that our league is so strong this year that if we could get to [the four regions] we could have the same thing we had here [in the Hockey East tournament] at the Frozen Four in Columbus." Two good HE/WCHA matchups in the first round.

Great point. Anybody making fun of Hirsch for whatever he is going through is an idiot. I wish him the best.
-
If that is true it is too bad. The kid is a great hockey player. I hope he can overcome whatever is keeping him off the ice and he's back in uniform soon.

I agree. It's funny to see these so called college hockey experts on ESPN fumble all over themselves. Michigan, BC and UM as the top teams? Hey jojo, our thoughts will be with you over in Iraq. Stay safe and bring the joy of being a Sioux fan to all those freedom loving Iraqis.

Hey, SFIB, how big is your place?
-
I think with Minny's scoring problems of late, Maine and/or Cornell could give them a tough time since both have great goaltending. However, I would never bet against UM in MPLS. I agree that CC got screwed. How does Michigan always end up in a Michigan bracket no matter where they are seeded. It's bad enough that they host a Regional almost every year, but even in a year where they are not the host school, they still end up there. That said, I still like CC coming out of that region.
-
I actually think that Bemidji could give Denver a tough game if Clime plays well. I'd love to see the upset.
-
IMO, Denver has the "easiest" bracket. The Gophers got a tough draw. CC again will be potentially faced with beating Michigan in Michigan. I do like that they only doubled up one bracket with multiple WCHA schools. LET'S GO SIOUX!!! EDIT. My mistake. I see the Sioux do play on Friday.
-
You gotta beat 'em all to be called Champs. Let's see how good Hockey East is. I am surprised at BU. I thought we would have either Harvard or Ohio State based on pairwise. Who's in the mood for some chowda?

It will be interesting to see what happens with Hirsh in the playoffs and beyond. His leaving his stick at center ice COULD be symbolic that his days playing in the brown and yellow are over, although I doubt it. Similar to when a wrestler leaves his shoes on the matt after his last match.

Great way to head into the Tourney. Great weekend Sioux!!!!

Can someone explain the difference between boarding and checking from behind. I think checking from behind is a major but don't know what the technical differences are between the two calls.

I may be wrong but I think it stands for laugh out loud.
