Geez. Maine is looking like they did when the pounded the pi#@ out of the Gophers and the Sioux last October. Maybe the WCHA is overrated.
-
pstar, take your b.s. elsewhere. You do not hope that the Sioux beat Michigan. You would much rather have your blondies play Michigan rather than North Dakota for any number of reasons. Big Gopher win over Michigan back in December. Gopher fans fear their team having to play the Sioux. It will be a tough game. Red is a solid coach and will have his boys ready. North Dakota will be ready as always. FWIIW, I hope that Air Force bombs the Gophers back to their days of mediocrity. It could happen. Here is saying that it will.

Hey 7>4. Read your threads. There are a number of people talking Brooklyns. Call in a couple of chits and lock down a party room. Most importantly, make sure you are in the arena by the time that the puck drops.

Whatya doing playing softball this time of year anyway?!? The Sioux coaches must be really ticked at you. Give softball a rest. The injury now tells you that you are well past your prime.

Satellite Move for The Fighting Sioux Sports Network

Iceberg!!! Dead ahead. Thanks a million for your prompt response. -
Hope that the yard can be safely pailed without any intrusion into your home. Floodwaters are always a bummer. You can give us the final report in a few weeks. Maybe some others can fill in a bit, although no one will ever fill your capable hands.

Satellite Move for The Fighting Sioux Sports Network

Hey Iceberg. I am a neophyte. Does this mean my fixed dish on The Ralph arena coordinates is not going to bring me the game? Can I punch these in to get the game, or do I need a motor? Thanks. -
NCAA Tournament round 1: UND vs. Michigan

These are always informative . . . .Sioux Press Release Michigan Press Release -
Cut the drivel and get back to work. You are ripping your employer off by wasting time and energy here. BTW, I can, and will, personally vouch for WPoS. He was at the game, he was cheering hard and cleverly for the Gophers, and he is a fine hockey fan. Some of his famous cheers, however, are still stupid. I also saw him in The John in January at his bitter end, and he did in fact take his medicine from both me and others.

It is. This question has been asked before, but I think without an answer. Will the FSSN coverage mean that the game will be available on free satellite? Or is that a setup on for live games in the arena. I suppose that I can find that out tonight if I can pick up the women's bb game on the FSSN satellite dish.

Thanks. Denver is lucky to have him. I am a big Brian Lee fan and his brother is probably even better yet. That's the way it usually goes with siblings. My younger brother has it all over me.
-
It was a great game. Sure hope another one happens on Sunday. Same teams. New winner. WPoS. I saw you in the crowd. I was over amidst all of the altercations in Section 120 I think? The one right behind the goal the Sioux defended twice, and where the OT winner was scored. Sure coulda used you and your voice of civility and reason. Fun game.
-
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but hey, what the hey! Someone told me that Lee has a brother in high school who may be a D-1 prospect. Anyone know if he is committed to playing anywhere? Thanks.

First things first with a tough and storied Michigan team. Assuming the Sioux take care of business, and the Gophers manage to escape their history of collapse, a Sioux-Gophers game in Denver will be great. Here is saying that the Sioux would roar back and drill the Goofies should that matchup materialize. Wheeler's comment about the Gopher fans travelling well is funny. They do, but nothing like do the fans from any number of other schools, including of course North Dakota and Michigan Tech.

A little OT: Best Visiting fans at REA this year...
NorthDakotaHockey replied to Big A HG's topic in Men's Hockey
I am an idiot. The Holy Cross and Gopher fans were showing their colors LAST year, not this year. It only seems like yesterday to me. Now, a new tournament hunt. That was then, this is now. It really is too bad that the league did not schedule the Gophers and their back at The Ralph this season. Their trauma would have been overwhelming. -
2007 WCHA Final 5 thoughts & predictions
NorthDakotaHockey replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
A great event that will have better hockey, but for the hardware at stake, than will the Frozen Four. Tech. Sioux. Gophers. St. Cloud. Sioux. That Sioux-Gopher final from a few years back, in Parise's last year, was a classic. 6-5 Gophers as I recall, maybe in OT? -
How many of you are going?
NorthDakotaHockey replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in Men's Hockey
A great tournament. Glad to see alot of first timers. Wow, alot of real vets too. I am bringing three nephews ages seven, nine, and eleven, all huge fans. They play hockey all year long in the Valley !@#!$ area so they never get to games during the regular season. Their Pa is bringing them down for the Friday and Saturday sessions and we are all stoked. Sit in the cheap seats in the midst of some really thin-skinned Gopher fans and some good St. Clown folk. We also have some lower bowls that we will rotate in and out of on Saturday. For the play-in, I hope to drag someone along and will move down to ice level as their should be plenty of open seats tonight, at least compared with the final four games. As for parking for the out-of-towners on a first time basis, try the History Center lot off of John Ireland. It's the huge building near the Cathedral. Looks like a grey prison. It has a little known and little used lot, is an easy walk, and is real handy for on/off access to the major road arteries. -
A little OT: Best Visiting fans at REA this year...

Best Visiting Fans of the Year? 2007. That's easy. 1. The fans of the Holy Cross Crusaders. They purtneer brought the roof of The Ralph down in March. 2. The fans of the Gophers. Their squealing tires out of the parking lot the night that their boys took their well-deserved licking probably saved the Ralph a good number of dollars because sealcoating the parking lot could be put on hold for a few years what with all the burnt rubber that was left that night. If the question was directed more at the season still in play, my vote goes to the Michigan Tech Huskies. Anyone willing to road trip that distance, in those conditions, while a beat down was likely expected, have got to be faithful and rabid fans. Their perserverence was rewarded with the sweep that propelled the Sioux into the second half and beyond. -
Too much to do. Couldn't get myself out of the ditch and onto the road on time. Will watch on the FSSN. Then, out dancing with the ladies.
-
Hopefully, it will be the curtain on another season at The Ralph. A great venue that is slowly, but surely, seeing the clueless socialites drift away, and seeing the real hockey fans fill the majority of the building. For all who will have the privilege and pleasure of being in The House tonight, bring it down on Jutting and the Mavs, and show the Sioux how much we all appreciate all that they have done, and all that they will still do, this season.
-
Yup. As long as they don't get placed in the same regional as the Sioux.
-
Disagree. There are plenty of so-called Gopher fans who will not take the time, make the effort, nor spend the money to see Final Five games in which the Gophers are not playing. While there is obviously a solid core of Gopher fans who are also fans of the game, many Gopher fans will simply not go if their fair-haired boys are not skating. Both of you may be at fault for painting with broad brushes. What will always amaze me is this. Several years back, West Regional, The John. Sioux, much to the delight of Gopher fans, get beat by a tough Ferris State club. No Holy Cross collapse there. Gophers beat someone, I do not recall who. My kids and I, having a full pocket of series tickets, go down to the Regional final. Because I always think that I have more friends that I actually do, I had some extra tickets. No problem, I thought. Gophers playing their last game at home. Just off a National Championship year, maybe two. Great spring day. No television, as I recall, I might be wrong. The Gopher fans will be out in full force to see their team play its final game of the year at The John. Send them off to the Frozen Four. Well, no deal. There were hundreds of tickets on the street that day. I was stunned that fans were not out in droves looking for tickets that could be had for a song. Here is my broad brush. Gopher fans are finnicky, fickle, self-righteous, condescending, unsophisticated, generally unlearned in the finer details of the game, cry to the heavens for penalties every time their boys fall to the ice, and are the first to desert when things are looking bad. They are unwilling, or unable, to stand up and cheer for the Browser at the end of a period if their team is getting drilled, they think that the world revolves around DaDonny, and their jerseys are often taut to the seams and stained with gravy. Oh yes, and they are envious of the pride, the tradition, the focus, the class, and the determination of the Fighting Sioux hockey program, from its players, to its coaches, and its fans. They also have little more to do than to surf SiouxSports.com in their never ending search for wisdom and knowledge as to the finer points of the game and the sport. By the way UMHockey, you have Hakstol's name misspelled in your signature line. I do agree with you though that Lucia greatly surpasses Hakstol in both arrogance and in idiocy, and in his general inability to properly school the boys under his tutelage. See you in St. Louis. I am pretty sure that you won't be in the Ex on Saturday night.

Whoaa!! Careful there Triouxp. You belittling my work avocation of dishes and scrubbing toilets for Johnny A. at The Extra End?
-
No offense, but these predictions are getting pretty tired. How about something real challenging . . . . League assignments of its refereeing corps. UM-UAA --- Derek Shepherd SCSU-UMD --- Marko Hunt UND-MSU-M --- Todd Anderson DEN-WI --- Scott Zelkin CC-MTU --- Randy Schmidt. Don Adam, Jon Campion, and the rest ride the pine.

Not entirely true. Two and a half months ago, there were plenty of us who had this team firmly in sight and had not lost heart, or hope. Just like the coaches and the players. We knew then what we all know now. The college hockey season really begins in earnest in February, builds to a crescendo in March, and a lucky few play in April. We were lucky enough to be in the arena tonight. North Dakota was dominating a solid St. Cloud club. While St. Cloud and its players supposedly had little to play for tonight, they'd best not fall into the Lucia Folly of the past year or two. Every game in March means something, no matter the opponent, no matter the stakes. Winning in March breeds winning. Losing in March brings an early end to The Ride. North Dakota Hockey is a class organization. Hakstol. Eades. Jackson. The players. The equipment guys. The Administration. The Ralph. The fans. This is the best time of year. Enjoy it while it is here. If you ain't got 'em yet, get your tickets to and make your reservations in St. Louis now.
