  1. Sounds like an exciting WCHA game so far . . . . TH is all lit up. End to end action.
  2. Try the LISTEN LIVE button on the home page.
  3. You try that link to KFGO that Sprig supplied in Post #38?
  4. The best dining in all of Grand Forks and eastern North Dakota . . . . Red Pecker included.
  5. Five from my tribe will be traveling from the Twin Shitties on Saturday for the Saturday night game only, returning after the game. We may try to hit town early to take in the revelry outside of Camp Randall to experience a bona fide Big Ten football atmosphere, unlike the joke scenes outside of the Metrodome for Gopher games.
  6. Is that you Tom Izzo?
  7. Cripes. Stupid me. I thought that the University had worked out some sort of deal with Ron His Horse Is Thunder for the job.
  8. Smoke 'em if you've got 'em folks.
  9. One of the many pangs of being a once occasionally successful playboy.
  10. Under the Blais regime, I believe that this was a plane trip. I was flying out of the MSP on an early Sunday morning once in the early 00's and saw the boys waiting to get on a jumper to GF. This said, Madison is really a fairly easy drive. At least until you get to that hell hole of a town. I have been lost miserably there.
  11. If you miss him before the game you can always wait around after the game near the player's elevator. Better to get him before, as he may be in no mood afterward, especially if a loss. The request through the UNH bench, and coaches, sure makes sense to me.
  12. We are all set. Thanks for the calls.
  13. We are looking for two tickets to Colorado College game on Saturday night. Please call John or Aggie @ 701.772.3622. Or Tim at 612.201.3239.
  14. Well here's one. How about the North Dakota Brand. Seeing how we've been branded as hostile and abusive. By the NCAA and the indomitable Myles Brand. I know. Stupid.
  15. Shheeesh. That's too bad. It might keep him off of the karoake stage for a few days.
  16. Geez. You didn't need to drag me into this thing, did you? I agree with everything else that you say.
  17. Sheeps. A lot of y'all must be, or shoulda been, undertakers the way we been shoveling dirt on this deal as if the name is dead and done. Me, perhaps, included. After a few deep breaths, I have come around to believing that this thing is far from over. Some good solid advocacy, some well-placed intentions, some commitment to programs and legacy, and a bit of cash on the barrel to boot will keep the name, and logo, well afloat. I am quite sure of it. The tribal leaders have both boatloads of pride, and plenty of need. They are also both smart and highly respected. They will know how to leverage this deal, and will readily see the wisdom in doing so. The activists will go in search of some new cause, unless the University agrees to give them 9-5 jobs at a fair wage as part of the deal. Smoke 'em if you've got 'em.
  18. Wow. Sounds like a green weenie deal to me. Me thinks that the driving force behind this "recommended" deal is that the lawyers who had been crawling all over the case, sucking fees for how many months, finally figured that they had been to the trough long enough and that, rather going to the hind titty called the nitty gritty work of preparing for trial and getting the job done, it was best to propose a wrap on the deal now. Of course, this is a bit unfair as I have not seen any details on the agreement. I suppose that not requiring The Ralph to retrofit at any time for any reason is a good thing. I suppose that support from the tribes can be garnered. Allowing the tribes to change their mind at a later time is b.s. Perhaps the University could contract that right away from the tribes, depending on whatever consideration might be given for that relinquished right. All in all, in sounds to me like the lawyers got weak knees after getting full pockets. A typical malady of many, if not most, lawyers. I say, no nickname, just "North Dakota." Use the state highway symbol for a logo.
  19. Time to screw on the brass nuts and be both clear and firm with the NCAA.
  20. Lots of folks are parading out this "No. 1 team in the nation" candy. It don't mean jack. The last few years, when the Goofie fans were flying that flag, many said it don't matter a lick. It doesn't. In college hockey, perhaps more than any other major sport, No. 1 means nothing, especially this early, and especially since, top to bottom, No. 12 or 15 can beat No. 1 or 3 on any given weekend of the year. Tech is no slouch. Who is to say that these are games that we should win just because we are No. 1? Whoever wants the puck more will win these games.
  21. Back in the day, I had heard that this trip is a good bonding trip. They boys leave Wednesday or Thursday, stay overnight in Duluth, and enjoy the bus ride to Houghton at a slow pace. They return home after the game on Saturday, stopping more than once to stretch their legs after a tough two-night stint of hard skating. In between, popcorn, movies, sleep, and talk of ladies in the night.
  22. It is never easy to win on the road, anywhere, in the WCHA. The trip is long and tiring. The hype is high. Like us, Tech returns the large nucleus of its Final Five team from last year and has one heck of a coach. The ice will be firm and fast. There will be no Northeastern caliber squads anywhere to be seen. While a sweep or three points is certainly well within reach, coming home with zero or one is near equally plausible. I'll take a split here with no problem, and with no crying about it. An early season loss might just be what the hockey doctor orders to get alot of heads out of the clouds. Both on the team and in the stands.
  23. 'Twas a real bummer watching THE marquee matchup in college hockey this weekend get pulled because of poor ice. All in all, it was a ballsy, and likely correct, decision by the refs to blow the whistle on the game. The chance of injuries to players in such conditions is very real. No sense rolling those dice for no good reason. It really is amazing that BC's so-called storied history over the years has not allowed it to build both a bigger and a better arena. I well suspect that the private school has loads of money, and countless monied-up alumni. They could get a building done in no time if someone there had the gonads to head the charge. Maybe this absolute embarrassment will result in just that. If and when BC does build a new building, the Sioux should open it up for them. Until then, a firm thanks, but no thanks, wiill be in order on any future regular season visits there. Why spend a ton of money to travel to BC, only to run the apparently very real risk of playing a lousy two periods in slushy conditions at great risk of injury? Jerry York. C'mon Jerry York. You're supposed to be the Puff Daddy of the Hockey East. Get it done. Until then, see you later.
  24. Cool. Thanks for the information. I had better take an aspirin and a powder to relax.
  25. WTF? Are we in some type of warp. No one is posting anything about the game. Anyone have it by radio. CSTV is showing something else! I run home to get Keith Fat F*&K Jackson pontificating about his so-called career???
