  1. why not pass out kazoo's to everyone to play the fight song or in heaven there is no beer. Did everyone know that the beer song we all sing at hockey games is actually an old polka song?
  2. Jeff Panzer with the St. Louis Blues
  3. Bochenski's stats may be significantly lower than some of the previous leaders, however I would still say Bochenski is one of the most, if not THE most talented offensive player of them.
  4. I'm not saying that Blais intentionally bashed Brandt in the media, but I'm saying that sometimes these types of things get players going. Coaching deals with alot more psychology than people realize sometimes.
  5. When your dealing with goalies, there are alot of mental issues. Certain things are done for a reason... Jake just held UMD to 2 goals all weekend and led UND to a road sweep that could possibly be the difference in the WCHA championship. I'd say something went right after Madison.
  6. Awesome... always good to hear more new people are enjoying hockey... especially college hockey.
  7. You've got me wrong dagies. My dad was a UND student in the 70's and says that he loves hearing the cheers that he used to do. Yes, even the ones with swearing. This is a hockey game, not a fund raiser for the museum. It's not just about swearing, its about policing the students to a level that highschool kids barely even need. I never said I couldn't have fun at the games without swearing, I just meant that the new restrictions could very well dull the experience of going to a Sioux game for many people, just as easily as they could help. These types of restrictions will never end, and the more the students just sit back and accept them, the worse and worse it gets from here on out. It's bad enough students can't stand and cheer, and I understand that some of what is said is vulgar and could be avoided, but don't let a few bad apples ruin the fun for the people who do it harmlessly. I've had many run ins with this type of situation going back to highschool with the faculty trying to do (basically) the same thing. I was almost suspended because me and a few friends refused to sit at a basketball game. Ever since then, I have had very strong feelings on these issues and yes, I am opinionated. I do very little swearing at hockey games, but I find it dissapointing that one thing is leading to the next. Maybe next, they'll be giving breathalizers at the door and kicking out the drunks.
  8. As Zach Parise said regarding the new rules, the players need to feed off of the fans energy. By not allowing the students to do many cheers that UND students have done for years, the administration is demoralizing not only the crowd, but the players. The old ralph was known for its great atmosphere and the new ralph was slowly getting better. This is a step in the wrong direction to supporting the hockey team. I am one of thousands of fans who ENJOY the chants, cursing, making fun of, etc. I think it makes the games alot more fun, but now because of a few people who complain, I won't enjoy the games as I used to. Why don't they ask the players what they think? This team is the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA FIGHTING SIOUX. It is made up BY the students. First they make us sit, now we can't cheer like we always do. Where does it end? If the students keep giving in, The administration will turn the ralph into a graveyard on friday and saturday nights. I would like to know what the players think about these restrtictions.
  9. I don't know if you can say one is more valuable than the other. Jordan has done alot for this team, just as Zach has. They both have been playing their asses off all season, and I wouldn't give either of them up for any other player in the country.
  10. They also had 4 or 5 guys dressed up in cheerleading uniforms...funny stuff. I like the "we're sorry" after the starting goaltender is announced idea...
  11. I think this says alot UND in the hockey community, and the amount of respect the coaching staff holds within it. Good to see the local players in green and white, too. Congradulations to Lee, I'm sure he will add a lot of talent to a great defensive class when he joins the Sioux.
  12. While I agree that Stafford and Porter are both strong on their skates, I still feel Prpich is the leader in that category, however, Porter and Stafford seem to have more speed than Prpich. The first few times I saw porter play, I thought, "Why weren't more people talking about this kid"? He is one hell of a forward if I do say so myself, and he is going to be a great asset to this team over the next few years.
  13. I'm confused.. a tripping call AND a diving call? I knew he was bad, but honestly... that is ridiculous.
  14. Agreed. It will go to Ben Eaves this year.
  15. And people wonder why they're winning stanley cups
  16. There are some familiar names on that roster... Aaron Marvin - related to Lee? I might be wrong but didn't Lee's dad play for UND also? Andrew Hasbargen - Adrian Hasbargen relation?
  17. Ironically, it was right after he two-handed slashed another player across the face, breaking his jaw Sounds like he's got a little mean streak to him...What would the NCAA do to a player who did that? Would they ever play college hockey again? I'm not going to lie and say it doesn't matter that Chucko chose UofM over UND, especially since my favorite players are the gritty power forwards who don't mind getting their jersey's a little bloody once in a while, [like Mike Prpich]. But to shed some light on the situation, the "trade-off" between Zajac and Chucko is similar to the Parise/Hirsch "trade-off" UND and UofM did a couple years back. UND has gotten the 2 best Salmon Arm players by a long shot in Murray and Zajac.
  18. Thankfully it's just exhibition...Good to see Parise/Murray scoring. Anyone know what the lines look like?
  19. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the Sioux were interested in Rosehill. I remember some talk about him on this board around the time of the NHL draft. On a side note... It looks like Zajac is one hell of a player, and I'm excited to see him play. The talent that the coaching staff has brought in these last couple years has been outstanding, and it seems like it gets better each year.
  20. Jason Blake had an amazing shorthanded goal in a great back-and-forth hockey game. Here's the link to the video.
  21. Sweeping any team in the WCHA is dificult. They played two good games with CC, took 3 from Minnesota (who is still #8 on the KRACH and #11 in the PWR and RPI), they took 3 from Denver and they've swept the lesser opponents. They are for real.
  22. Personally, I don't believe the Hrkac Circus Line's numbers will ever be surpassed by any other line in college hockey. The talent pool of the 80's simply isn't there anymore, and with the amazing goaltenders and defensive style of the NCAA, let alone NHL, you just won't see a team score that much. Just my two cents.
