  1. Where did anyone say he was a feared NHL fighter, or enforcer?
  2. Enforcer, no. But he is one hell of a fighter from what I've seen. I watched him in one NHL fight where he pinned up the guy against the glass and beat on him. Hale can handle himself.
  3. Vanek playing in the NHL right now would be interesting to see. He wouldn't be able to get away with his floating and lacadasical play in the pros like he does in college. He's going to have to step up his intensity or he won't see much ice. Then again... maybe going to the NHL is just what he needs for that to happen.
  4. I don't think people are worried about the team "falling apart" without Parise. For me, I just love watching him play, especially with Bochenski and Murray, theres just something there with Parise that you RARELY see in college hockey. In any case, he's going to do whats in his best interest, and with the way he gets mangled and mauled during every game without the calls, it wouldn't suprise me to see NJ bring him up, if only to protect their investment. Let's face it, Zach Parise is the most complete player college hockey has seen in a while, and he is ready to play in the NHL.
  5. anyone got a link for the audio broadcast?
  6. I don't think there's a better way to put it. I don't know if I've ever seen a player work so hard on every shift of every game all season. Dissapointing end to a good season, but there will be more NCAA's. Time to start looking forward to next year.
  7. Congrats to the bulldogs, they're goin' to Boston.
  8. I will feel about 50% better if the dogs win today.
  9. Sioux are putting on lots of pressure, they're playing well right now.
  10. Sorry to hear about Otto. My condolences. I go to school out of state and every time I meet someone from North Dakota, I feel a certain connection with them. I know exactly what you mean.
  11. wow, complete meltdown for harvard... Maine must be capitalizing on everything...
  12. Gotta love playoff hockey...
  13. I'm listening to the game on the Maine broadcast, lets go Harvard!
  14. I noticed the EXACT same things about Vanek at the final five, particularly the party about him sulking back to the bench and just floating around the ice. He is by far the laziest player (on the ice) I have ever seen play at the University of Minnesota. On a side note, I'm excited to see Spriko play, and I'm glad that Blais is starting to pick up some smaller/faster type players such as Murray, Duncan, Spirko, etc. that he did so well with in the late 90's and '00. I've always been a fan of those types of teams, and given this years team's skating ability, and the incoming recruits, I can't imagine how well the Sioux will be flying on the transition in the next few years.
  15. Congrats to Holy Cross, it's just too bad they have to play UND first

  17. There's something different about this team though. In previous years, I would be pissed when they lost, but this year, for some reason, it just doesn't bother me nearly as much, possibly because I have so much faith in this team. They have all the pieces to win a championship, they just have to go and play hard and get it. The competetiveness of this team is their best asset going into the tourney... that and those 2 really good forwards everyones always talking about
  18. That is one hell of a question. Before the season started I would have been sold on Parise getting it, but the way Bochenski has stepped up this season is phenominal. His defense is most improved, depsite being known as an "offensive" player, he has to be one of the best defensive forwards in the league as well. I also see him working harder on the ice than he has in the past (doing more dirty work: blocking shots, etc..), it seems like his speed has improved and for that he can create alot of havoc on the forecheck. Earlier in the season Bochenski was scoring practically at will. Since then, he has slowed down a bit, but if he can step it up to that early season level for the playoffs, no matter how much the committee wants to give it to an Eastern player, they can't overlook what Bochenski has done this year, and what type of presence he is on the ice. A "Man among boys".
  19. i third that. I've liked the way I've seen Canady play this year. It seems like he has matured alot from last year, and is making better decisions, and playing more physically.
  20. Thanks for the post mezzy. I like hearing success stories about anyone who played hockey in Grand Forks, whether it be youth, highschool, college, whatever. Hopefully Olson can secure himself a spot on the Panther's roster.
