  1. That’s my perspective also. Plus they only finished ahead of us in the NCHC by 2 points, last year, and I’m not sure this year’s DU team is significantly upgraded where they are too far ahead of the pack.
  2. Western, to me, is one of those teams that never seems to live up to expectations when they are supposed to be good. I also am not convinced DU is that far ahead of the pack as everyone else thinks. NCHC play will tell us more about where everyone is at.
  3. I have a correction if this matters to you You have Tucker Poolman as having the shootout winning goal in November of 2017, but it was Christian Wolanin. Tucker wasn’t on the team anymore at this point. Appreciate your write ups!
  4. I thought I heard DU dropped him during one of their coaching changes. I think back when Monty took over? Edit: I could be wrong, or have the wrong player.
  5. I don’t know the why, I just came here to say: The ECAC is weird. They play every team twice. Once at home-and-once away. That’s it. They never play any team 4 times in conference play like other leagues. (Maybe they like playing each other so much they decided twice was not enough?) Why I didn’t already know this is also concerning
  6. It’s sitting in my car waiting for a response.
  7. Yeah, he’s been noticeable for me in these first few games. And he seems faster? (The entire team does, but him in particular)
  8. I also figured out the problem. I didn’t have a beer until the third period last night. And I didn’t have any during the Mankato series, so I’ve decided to be a team player and drink more beer.
  9. I cringed.
  10. Hain and Blaisdell scratched in favor of Casey Johnson and Josh Rieger we’ll see how that one works out...
  11. I actually thought it was the right move. I had mentioned it to a friend last weekend actually. He is good defensively but was also really struggling on Faceoffs (35%) and we have other guys who can win them right now.
  12. Make that a no.
  13. In the 2015-16 season, the Saturday game was in Grand Forks. Hyrinkiw’s first career start.
  14. Well they got those 2 extra games to get their sh** together so ... not too surprising. Plus the other “favorites” in the league have underperformed at this point.
  15. And RPI (wins/losses and strength of schedule). If you look at PWR on USCHO, the rankings at this time are pretty much completely based on a team’s RPI. So that’s very little to go on, especially considering the Ivies haven’t played yet.
  16. I only glanced at USCHO, and am guessing it’s based on 2nd highest RPI, by the looks of things.
  17. It sounds like Casey barely played, if he played at all, and I don’t think Judd played more than a couple shifts on Saturday. (I only saw Saturday’s game). Frisch was good on Saturday I thought.
  18. Yes. Which is exactly my point. It’s way too early to know that much about anyone. I think I’ll wait until Christmas for my judgements.
  19. You mean St Cloud, who is 0-0-2 and Duluth, who is 1-3? Further proof that it is waaaaay too early to be having this conversation. No one has any idea who is better than who yet this year. But somehow not surprised we are
  20. Them too? I know they declined SCSU.
  21. Student manager I believe. I assume he is still finishing up law school.
  22. It’s wrong. We were 1 for 9 on PP
  23. I cannot even remember the last time Mankato swept us. Must’ve been before I was a fan Funny how neither of them said why they think that...
  24. I pretty much agree. I mean, Casey is the extra forward, it’s not like he’s taking up a ton of ice time. Same with Yon when he draws in. I would imagine when he draws in its likely as an extra skater. Though if I see either on the power play... that’s a completely different story. I would honestly rather we play an extra D over an extra forward, but that’s just me.
  25. Lost a bet last year. There’s another one this weekend.
