Wondering if the fact that we haven’t had 8 healthy d-men all season is playing a role. From my memory only 2 defensemen haven’t been sick or injured and missed a game or more at some point this season. I don’t really know if it’s a factor but just an observation. Im also starting to wonder if Driscoll bailed them out more than we may have thought last year and this year we haven’t had our goaltending be able to save us (DeRidder at Minnesota the exception)

Our goaltending and defensive zone play still makes me uneasy so I don’t feel that great going into this weekend. Hoping we can at least win one of the games.

I basically just remember when Tambo left we started winning more games that season.

Just as a reference our next opponent, SCSU, who is currently 4th in the PWR, split with Bemidji in their home and home earlier.

Seems like it. These are his career BCHL and AJHL numbers. Obviously his last year with Brooks was an insane jump in points.

Right. I was starting to think it’s more likely Brent Johnson or Cooper Moore make miraculous recoveries.

I don’t think they ever planned for Hellsten to be anything more than a backup who can play a few handfuls of games every year. Hedquist, to me, has always been seen as the heir apparent. Hellsten has his moments but he’s also had some stinkers.

Did not sound good on Frisch for tomorrow.

26–8-28 has been good when they’ve played together before.

Plus I think some internal competition is desperately needed on the back end - will make them better. Hopefully we’ll have all 8 D healthy soon.

I’d prefer some sort of a rotation until someone shows some consistency.

I’d be surprised mainly because they haven’t swept anyone this season.

Moore is injured, Johnson is out sick

Brent Johnson is out with an illness, the others are all injured except for Kunz.

Cakebread had 15 points for his entire first USHL season and Swanson currently has 17 points so he’d have to really bomb the rest of the season to reach that level of fail

… yes, but we also finished 2nd in the NCHC that year and went to the Frozen Four. NCHC was mediocre in non-conference play that first year of the league. SCSU and UND were the only at large bids and DU got the auto bid but they weren’t good that year.

Hak teams never missed the NCAA tournament so how “bad” could one of his teams have been? There were a couple 1st round NCAA exits, but one of those teams won the WCHA tournament and another won the WCHA regular season.

Are we sure that team was worse at this point? That team just couldn’t score. This team can’t defend.

I’m aware. But we don’t have enough healthy D to bench the other one so… that’s too bad.

Miami is 31st in the PWR. So not too far behind UND.
