I know for a fact we're pursuing Cammarata and Stepan(I read an article), I don't know much about MacKinnon except that he's from the same hometown as Sidney Crosby and some call him the second coming of Sidney Crosby, but I've never seen the kid play or anything. So I'd guess MacKinnon is bound for the Q. We could very well be pursuing all three. There's a lot of recruits we get that I'm never aware we are pursuing. I also agree that Stepan is likely Badger bound.

I'm assuming we are talking about Taylor Cammarata and Zach Stepan? Those are the only two I know we are pursuing.

I'm debating this. hopefully at least the Saturday game in Kato. Ditto for the St Cloud series in St Cloud - I went last year to the 8-1 beatdown with my dad and we had a great time. But I'm hoping to talk a couple of my fellow Sioux alums to tag along with me to both series.

He was going to. He visited the team that drafted him earlier this summer in the USHL (Sioux City maybe?) and also visited Penticton of the BCHL and decided to head west instead.

Minnesota expends all their energy on recruiting the same small, skilled forwards that they don't have enough energy (i guess?) to recruit any defense, when really, their priorities are screwed up there. They have one D recruit slated to come in next year and none after that so I'd guess they'll be looking at doing that this season. (Looking at our D recruit(s), we'll probably be doing the same). I'm purely speculating.

Oh, I agree with you. I've read several interviews with Grimaldi where he says right out he's not playing in the WHL. He seems to be a pretty "spiritual" kid if thats the right wording. I'm hoping to convince a buddy or two to go to the Wisco games in Madison. I've never been there and my cousins (who went to UW/lived there) tell me it's a lot of fun and I must go. But I'm also supposed to go to Las Vegas in November, so that might not happen. If that doesn't work out, I might settle for a trip to Mankato. And since I live in the Citiies, the Final Five and Frozen Four are on my agenda for this spring.

He was last year, but they lost his rights because of a USHL rule that has something to do with the age you affiliate players on your roster. So they just drafted him again this year.

I haven't heard anything down here. On GPL it was said the Kyle Rau visited the U a few weeks ago and it is between Gophers and one other school. Pretty sure I know what that other school is I did see Chad Rau today -- perhaps I should have asked! And no, it's not selfish! I consider recruiting battles like hockey games, and I'm competitive and I like WINNING.

My thoughts on the roster and the bolded name of Chris Kreider : Is this seriously the best we can do? It's not ALL bad, but still. So, so sad.

Tufte looks to have pretty good size. I can't say I remember him much from the ONE GAME I saw Blaine play on TV during the state tourney. But no one on his team was noticeable in that game either. I would guess since he's a senior that it's kind of a wait and see how he does in juniors kind of deal now.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm a Penguins fan. But I'm also a fan of a lot of other teams. That said, before we all go off running our mouths, I think we should remember before grouping ALL fans into one group that there are those of us on this board that like different teams. I don't like the Wings. So be it. I admit it. And I'm just going to leave it at that.

Pretty sure the Sedins and the Canucks will have to get by the Blackhawks first... and the Wings will have to get by the Sharks. Just saying...

I've heard rumblings of that as well. I live in the cities. Sometimes I hear things.

I don't know about Poulin, but the other one, Coyne, I hear is interested in going Ivy.... likely Cornell or Harvard. I think she's trying to get her test scores up though to gain admission there. Don't quote me on that though, that's just what I've been reading.
