I'm actually done having this conversation b/c all you do is argue with everything I say.

Namely because the Gophers over recruited forwards for 2013 so the need for them in 2014 isn't as high. That's why some are questioning the space issue. They have no senior forwards, but will probably lose a couple early, and they are still bringing in at least 5 forwards next year.

UND won't recruit every top kid in Minnesota. (we didn't recruit Mario Lucia after all! ) Gotta find the right mix of kids. I haven't seen Hurley play (weird considering Edina is in my backyard) but maybe he's similar to a lot of players we already have? Or maybe they already know there's no interest on his end. Could be lots of reasons. Also, the Hockey Hub recruiting page is "user-submitted", meaning people contact the site about schools they know are recruiting each player, so if no one mentioned UND, it's not going to put it on the site, even if we are recruiting him. There are so many kids out there that commit here that we have no clue we were showing interest in. Just something to think about.

Poolman is not coming next year. Hes 2014. LaDue, Crisfield and likely Thompson I'd guess. My point was we have 3 eligible to come in and I don't see, as of now, more than Forbort, any other early departures from the blueline. Of course, that could change. We still have Simpson, Mattson, Schmaltz and Panz. Bring in the three mentioned and we are good. JMO.

D-men? If we lose Forbort early, we still have three potentially coming in to replace him and Mac and Gleason next year. I don't think next year is our recruiting target anymore. I think it's further out.

Yes. The knock on him is his lack of physicality, and always has been.

The thing is, Gothberg needs playing time so he can get experience, learn from his mistakes and get better. I definitely think rotating every weekend is not the best solution right now, but he's got to get in there every couple weekends if he's going to develop and get better.

I thought Rowney has looked kind of a step slow this year so far... I don't know if that's the best way to describe his play, but something is just off there.

If it was me, I'd tell them where to shove it, but that's just me.

They're only playing Notre Dame because Lucia's kid is on the team. Let's be real here. Definitely not a powerhouse team. Solid and competitive, but no powerhouse. There are about 5 powerhouse teams in college hockey. Maybe 6. And Notre Dame is not one of them.

You think our defense is the worst in the country? We give up 2.4 goals per game... 4th in the WCHA. I'd watch some more teams before you label us the worst.

Yet, Gophers can't even sell out the Badger series. They just discounted SRO tickets for this weekend. Guess fans prefer over the top.

I will be there Saturday! Havent been to the Ralph in over a year. Usually just hit up road games. Hopefully my presence has been what's missing on Saturdays prior.

Good luck. I don't have a clue, but they went on sale a few weeks ago and only had Standing Room Only and when we got ours set up the day prior, our ticket rep said it was gonna be tough ticket to get.

I think it's still too early to say that there is. Everyone said in 10-11 we had a slow start because we got swept at Maine, and that group was as veteran as you could get. That team only lost 9 games all year. I think at Christmas break is when we can really determine where we are at. For all we know we could lose no more games until Christmas. (Not likely, but you get the idea). So put me in the camp that thinks it's too early to determine if this is, in fact, another year where we need a big old surge. I'll wait until Christmas. That said, need to put together a full weekend. No time like the present.

I consider "Peak" to be the high point of the season. So it depends on each season when you were playing the best.

I am making my first trip to the Ralph in over a year for the game on Saturday. I'm bringing my two sisters. The Sioux are undefeated at games my sisters attend. I'm feeling good about this weekend!
