Actually I think that Sal and UPB made a good decision there. Some of those threads would turn into USCHO type flamefests if certain fans were able to register. Those of us already registered (for the most part) have defended our selves there rather respectively. POI has it's own not so nice fans that if mixed with ours...would cause the board to explode. Dagies, I agree wholeheatedly. When I want to practice flaming...I go to USCHO. It can be fun, when it's good natured. But SS isn't the place for it, there's some threads on here that just need to die.

Not so. CC fans bought most of the tickets...They hate Denver as much as Sioux fans hate the Goophers. Notre Dame is the best 4 seed, and has a shot to unseat Minny first round as they are not at home...but, they probably won't, Minny is on fire. I see tOSU in this one, but it'll be close. Nothing made me happier than to see that the clutch and grab trapping BADgers got the 3 seed (except maybe if they got a 4th). Plus, the Buckeyes have played well for losing Umberger and Kessler Michigan goes out first round...Berensen and Carr share their post season "success" I think that tOSU will be there and will beat Maine. You will...KC told me she experienced it at The Ralph just for wearing her Guyer jersey. Giving opposing fans crap is one thing (screaming the Rouser in my face for example, ahem WPoS ), but it needs to be kept good natured. I've seen Sioux fans not abide by this as well as fans of pretty much every team (except, strangely, from JBSU...they (even the Dogg Pound) were pretty nice to us a few years ago at the Concrete Center...must have had something to do with the idiot Saigo protesters outside and anti-nickname propaganda that was passed out inside the arena). As long as there are bandwaggoners, this will, unfortunately, continue.

I realize we are all great fans of our teams...but in the end, IT'S JUST A HOCKEY GAME. There's no need to personally insult other fans (especially their wives) then go off and punch them. My guess was the only thing your guy did wrong was cheer for his team...like everyone else in the building (except the Wisconsin and St. Clown fans ). The fans of other teams I met this weekend were great...I feel fortunate after reading this thread. I've noticed that most incidents happened on the opposite side of the arena from where I was.

This is probably the most unbiased post in this thread (except for mine, defending Jones ...hey c'mon, I said nice things about Ballard, didn't I? ) Handy...you really need to post here more often, especially with inshights like this. I say again...great post.

During the UMD/UM game there was a tUMD fan 2 rows behind me who had jsut finished shouting Let's Go Dogs...a little kid then yelled "Bulldogs suck." The Duluth fan then shouts..."I just got owned by an 8 year-old." The kid's dad then says...nope he's 7. Apparently this happened in Wisconsin too with a 6 year-old The difference is...everyone in the section laughed at it, and the kids dad didn't let it get out of hand.

IF the Sioux play Denver. Miami-Ohio may just take advantage of the fact that Denver is missing their best non-goaltender. But then again, Berkhoel can win games all by himself. This might be the best 1st round game.
