  1. OK, no score 11:00 1st, Sioux on PP
  2. Webcast up, looks like there's nobody there.
  3. Hard to argue against the 3 high-scoring Wisconsin forwards averaging over 2 PPG, I thought Monique might slip in as a first team defender but Larocque from UMD was the WCHA Defensive Player of the Year and Schleper from Minnesota is a repeat selection so apparently they favored true defenders more than a hybrid like Monique. Seems fair enough although I'm sure we didn't get any love on the UM ballot. I'd expect them both to be first team next year, this should put a little more coal on the fire.
  4. Agreed this was a bad situation that UConn got put into which pushed their losses much higher than they would have been, but it's becoming more common to lose money on Bowl appearances even if you're a decent team, the article stated that Virginia Tech lost $2.2 million playing Miami in the Orange Bowl in 2009 and West Virginia lost $1 million playing in the Fiesta Bowl in 2008. It would be interesting to see the final numbers from all 70 teams to see who made or lost money and how much.
  5. Just another example of how they're ruining their precious (now almost month-long) "Bowl Game Oversaturation Extravaganza". With the number of Bowl games up to a staggering 35 this year there were 8 teams who finished the year with LOSING records in Bowl games and another 15 who finished the year 7-6. Who wants to watch that crap? And then they expect these teams to sell a bunch of tickets so they can make some long green while the teams take a big financial hit? Some reward for getting an invite. NC$$ at its best. I hate to see this happen but maybe this is another step closer to a playoff system, if teams start turning down invites because they can't afford to lose money on Bowl appearances it might make them rethink their stance. On second thought...no it won't. What gets me about this whole Bowl setup is back in the day there were about a dozen Bowl games, they all had good teams and I watched every one of them. This year there were 35 games and I probably watched about 5 and checked the score once in a while on some others, I just can't get into watching two mediocre teams who have been drilled by every good team they have played battle in a meaningless game. Am I in the minority here?
  6. Wouldn't be ideal, Maine has played well lately, I think they have only given up 1 or 2 goals the last 4 games combined, and 2 of those were against Merrimack who is pretty decent.
  7. Seems like people will pony up and pay for out-of-state tuition if their kid really wants to go there, I looked at the U of Montana numbers out of curiosity and it says for the fall 2010 semester 75% were Montana kids, 20% were out-of-state kids, and 5 % were WUE kids which is a scholarship program for out-of-state kids which knocks about $10k a year off of tuition cost if they are fortunate enough to receive a WUE scholarship. Cost of 2 semesters tuition and fees: Montana Residents 5586. Out-of-State 18834. WUE 8198. So basing these numbers on their 2010 fall enrollment of 15642 you get: Montana 11732 students @ 5586 = $65,534,952. Out-of-State 3128 students @ 18834 = $58,912,752. WUE 782 students @ 8198 = $6,410,836. Bottom line...the 25% representing out-of-state students, including both full-paying and WUE, pay almost the exact same tuition as the 75% Montana students, so I guess the answer is as long as there are parents willing to bite the bullet and pay the price for their kids to go to out-of-state schools (and apparently there are), the schools will be more than happy to take them, because like everything else in this world...it is a $$$$$$$ thing. After looking at this stuff I'm sure glad my kid decided to stay in Montana for college.
  8. I don't know if it's boredom or cabin fever or what, but it's gotten pretty chippy on here the last week or so, seems like every comment whether joking or in earnest has the potential to start a big rhubarb, I'm about half leary of even posting this and getting hammered.
  9. Are you sure you're not pregnant? Ya Ya I know you're a guy. Seriously though, I remember sweating out the Super Bowl weeks back when the Vikings actually made it to Super Bowls, what a relief when it actually kicked off (although it never ended well for me). Looks like a really good SB on paper, a close game that could be decided on a great play or a huge mistake, should be entertaining to watch. Good luck Big A, Oxbow, and other Packer fans.
  10. Can you imagine a Chicago-Jets Super Bowl? 2 Weeks of nothing but Cutler and Tootsie Ryan on Sportscenter? I'd rather watch the Oprah channel than listen to those two. OK maybe not, but it's close. Based on that horrifying scenario...GB 31-17, Pittsburgh 24-17
  11. There's something wrong with that kid, last night he puts Mac in a choke hold from behind with his stick during the scrum, now he wants to headhunt with it? He's either going to really hurt somebody someday or really get his ass kicked, and I mean bad.
  12. Blood won't be winning any Academy Awards anytime soon.
  13. Getting more and more chippy as the game goes on, Sioux awoke from their slumber in the 2nd.
  14. Good to see that 17 back in the lineup. EDIT: You beat me to it bc.
  15. There's a girl from a town close to me named Saccara Molina playing for Minot, how does her game look?
  16. First alone now...33% to 32% for Bob Morris or Keith Urban or whatever.
  17. No doubt. I wonder if the coaching staff tries to get most of the prospective recruits to attend this weekend, if this series doesn't excite you to play at UND nothing will.
  18. Shouldn't they be too smart to get caught at anything?
  19. ...or the disdain for loudmouth Rex Ryan.
