You might be thinking of Roe from St. Cloud, he's taken more dives than Greg Louganis. Cepis would just hide and point.

Yeah, if that play runs smoothly it would have been a footrace to the corner and he might have made it, like you said it just wasn't executed well. I didn't like the call when I saw it, but now that I think about it the Packers probably didn't have their normal goal line playbook available because they're being careful with Rodgers and his concussion issues, normally he would either spread the field a little more and sneak it, or fake a dive and roll out with a pass/run option. With him coming back from his second concussion of the year, they probably weren't going to call anything that would result in him getting hit by a half-dozen guys at one time, which is understandable, and that's probably why they ran the plays they did. That said, I think if that same situation arises against Philly we'll see the regular goal line offensive plays, he'll have his nose in the middle of the pile.

I was starting to wonder if they were going to piss it away, when they had to settle for the FG after that goofy fake sneak/lateral that lost 3 or 4 yards at the one I started wondering if Chicago was gonna slop out a win on a fluke play or a long field goal for the 6-3 win.

Not the way I saw the division shaking out, I had it GB, Minnesota, Chicago, Detroit...what a crazy year. Vikings didn't really do GB any favors beating Philly, I liked GB a lot more at Chicago than at Philly. Still that should be the best game of the Wild Card round, if Matthews and Company can blitz and pressure Vick like the Vikes did they could sneak one out. High-stress 3 hours coming up for Big A and Oxbow. Not too worried about the Twins, they're the one Minnesota team who knows what they're doing.

Of all the nicknames that have been discussed this sounds like the best one to me...relates to the region, sounds tough, has good logo possibilities, can keep the current color scheme, shouldn't offend any PC...um...advocates. I do think that Northern Warriors would be the better of the 2, University of North Dakota Warriors of the North seems a little breezy to me.
