    FCS Post Season

I don't see why they would have to. Between true Bison fans, fair-weather Bison fans, and all the relatives who will be home for Thanksgiving weekend there should be a big NDSU base to start with, then add in all the casual football fans who just want to watch a playoff game, especially since weather isn't a factor, and they should have a big crowd without having to give away a bunch of tickets. Heck if I lived 80 miles away I would go watch it, and I bet a bunch of other Sioux fans will too, even if it is to cheer against them.
  3. Let the healing begin. Now about that other guy...
  4. Yeah, I'm going to go for the Packers and Falcons in the NFC now, I just can't stand the phony Bears. I'm real interested to see what's going to happen the next week with the Vikings, I think it's pretty obvious that the team has no confidence in or desire to play for Childress anymore, you don't mail in a stinker like that at home against your biggest division rival with your season on the line unless there are some real problems internally. Not saying GB isn't a good team, but c'mon 31-3 at home? They've raised the white flag. IMO they should: 1) Bench Favre and let Jackson finish the year 2) Fire Childress or at least start quietly looking for a replacement 3) Start cashing in their war bonds to pay a proven QB in the offseason. They still have enough skill players to make a couple playoff runs the next few years, but I'm afraid if they decide to go with any combination that includes Jackson and/or Childress the window is already shut.
  5. Strange question but is Bob showing up as offline to anybody else? EDIT: I see, private, never mind
  6. Thanks, not watching tonight so appreciate any updates.
  7. Oh yeah, they are the biggest homers for the "Good Guys" as they call them, but they do actually call a pretty good game. I'm a big Griz fan too, but honestly I don't think either them or NDSU deserves to be in the playoffs, although they both might slide in.
  8. Announcers seemed to think the Grizzlies were going to get in win or lose today, probably with some reputation votes, but after losing today even if they do slide in they are going to have to play a killer in the first round and will probably get spanked. Did I see right that NDSU got beat 3-0 or was that not an updated score? Didn't that team they were playing give up like 400 points this year? I see the Sioux mailed one in as well, I actually had a little hope after they showed some heart here against the Griz, but alas...
  9. Different day, same story for the Grizzlies...turnovers and penalties have killed them all year, dominated the second half but 2 fumbles inside the 5 keep them off the board. Crappy loss on a crappy Missoula day. Hopefully the Bobcats can make some noise in the playoffs.
  10. And it very well could, it looks like Rice is wavering on coming back this season, and that would probably drive the last nail in the coffin. One way or the other this weekend will determine the Vikings fate for the year, if they aren't playing for their absolute lives and lose this game, then the 2010 season/Favre era/hopefully Childress era will all be over, and the Wilfs can start looking at coaches and QB's for next year. If they really are thinking about Jackson running the ship next year they should let him finish out the year so he can prove once again that he is not the answer and finally look for another long-term option. If they do win this weekend and Rice does decide he is healthy enough to play, they would still have a shot at the playoffs, but with little margin for error.
  11. I would say that's a pretty safe bet, I see a lot of Sioux hockey clothing even out here in Montana, in fact we were in Vegas last month and I saw a couple people wearing Sioux shirts walking the Strip, which was pretty cool. Kind of unusual for a college hockey team to be the most followed, but when you look at it ND has no pro teams and they are the college team that has had the greatest run of success and national exposure the last 20 years or so. When I was growing up Bison football was the big powerhouse in ND but now I'd have to say that Sioux hockey has overtaken that too, after all there's no better fan recruitment tool than winning, and nobody has put a better product on the court/field/rink the last 20 years than UND hockey (despite the recent Frozen 4 Title dry spell).
  12. Your comment made me think of the post by Goon and my reply after the Yale loss this spring, the way the WCHA playoffs are set up it is imperative to avoid the play-in game, especially if your first rounder goes three games, playing 6 games in 9 days is too much even for these kids who are in great shape. Goon, on Mar 29 2010, 06:25 PM, said: I hope not to get flamed but I think the guys were tired and worn out on Saturday. They looked very slow and a step late and almost like were skating in cement. I think 8/10 UND beats this team. If anything this year was a lession to put your opponent down in two games and rest on Sunday during the first round the WCHA playoffs, try to get second at least to avoid the play in game. 6 games in 9 days is too much. In the end the Young Sioux team blew too many games early in the season that could have set them up better for the WCHA and NCAA playoffs. Valuable lesson learned. I think it was definitely a factor. Play 3 in a row, take 3 days off, play 3 more in a row, few more days off then travel to the East coast and practice for a playoff game...there has to be some jet lag there. But like you said, they put themselves in that situation, finish 3rd or higher in the league and avoid the play-in game (hate that term) and finish off your first rounder in 2 and you're looking at 4 games instead of 6.
  13. Looks like they threw this together in about 5 minutes. I wonder what kind of grade they got for it in their Film Studies class?
  14. Fellow Viking fan sent that to me yesterday, I've seen this Hitler video used for a lot of parodies but this is one of the better ones. It is pretty damn funny but unfortunately it is mostly true. Tough to be a Viking fan.
  15. OK, well hopefully someone else on here can help.

  18. What a crock, I thought this stuff was supposed to be handled on Mondays? Thanks for not waiting until pregame skate so Hak has at least 1 day to plan his lines. Another botched effort by numbnuts McLeod.
  19. Does anybody know what is up with Forbert? Illness lasting 2 weeks, does he have mono or something?
  20. Yeah, if this keeps up you'll be taking Dell and Eids soon. This has been more painful to watch than the political ads.
