  1. Yay less Sioux fans to watch the debacle!
  2. The only picture in the article is of a UND player.
  3. Geez, you guys get picked 2nd and you still pee and moan about it..
  4. If you think NDSU fans are ballot-stuffing, check out the Iowa poll! It's obvious that Iowa State Cyclone basketball fans have voted thousands of times. There have been close to 180,000 votes already! (compare to about 11,000 votes for the Wisconsin poll).
  5. It says this Saturday (July 23) from Oakes.

    Hobey 3

    PANZER WAS ROBBED!
  7. There aren't many fans except those on this board that think the Sioux will win the series either. I don't get why people are so confident the Dogs can pull this out. I think the chance that tUMD wins this series is less than 50/50. Hope the Dogs can get a win tonight in my absence and then finish the deal with me in attendence Sat or Sunday.
  8. Ticketba$tard put 4 of us in the student section in 109. I hope my friends are alive when I get there Saturday.
  9. Nice penalty kill Bulldogs. There's your key to this series.
  10. No. There is a small beer garden called the "Blue Line Club" located outside the gate to section 7 or 9 or something (the side opposite the Lake). For anyone who has frequented the famous Curling Club between periods or before the game in the past.... it is CLOSED this weekend due to the big bonspiel. No one except for tourney participants are allowed in. We'll be running to Grandma's between periods!
  11. Student sections are 20,22,24, and 26 as well as down below in the corner where some visiting team parents used to get their comp tickets. About 600 student tickets were sold this year so there was some overflow. Anything in the "balcony" is decent seating. If you are ice level on the glass - good luck seeing anything - worst seats in the history of any arena. And to answer your question, Sioux fans will be everywhere but especially on the corners and ends since those are mostly not season ticket holder seats. You should be in a section full of green. Ick.
  12. Stay in Grand Forks! Just kidding, see you all at Grandmas.
  13. I know I had more fun being in Boston last year than I would celebrating a MacNaughton for one night.

    New Coach

This is a great analogy but you used it wrong. Roy passed up the North Carolina job after Dean Smith retired saying he just wasn't ready to leave Kansas yet. A few years later, when the same opportunity arose he made the difficult decision to go back to his alma mater. I see the same thing happening here. Scott will coach the Sioux one day, it just won't be next season.
  15. It's impossible to overlook what he did at the WJC. Plus, look at the people that vote from the quote above: NHL scouts and a representative from USA hockey. Hmm, wonder who they will vote for. I don't even see how this will be close, which is sad since Lessard was the WCHA POTY, but no one outside the WCHA will take that into account. That's ok with me - Parise is also deserving, and my team is still playing, so all is good. I'll golf clap at the ceremony next Friday.
  16. All kidding aside, it's an accurate view of the situation. Two players who are virtual unknowns outside their respective conferences, and one clean-cut, All-American Golden Boy who won a gold medal for the United States. That's why he'll win.
  17. Parise and Lessard probably split the Western vote, but I'm sure Parise got a lot more votes from the East due mostly to the WJC. Parise wins.
  18. Hey, I am looking at the Box score, and I thought he was suppose to play tonight. This is DrunkHockeyGuy, I just realized that Beersong is still signed in on this forum. HAHA>
  19. Did he say just Sioux games, or all of them?
  20. Hello - I was wondering if CableOne will be picking up the UND games from Victory Sports this weekend and if you do, will you also pick up the Gopher and UMD Bulldog games? Thank you. Sincerely, beersong Scott Geston: Almost sure. Stay tuned to channel 7
  21. Indeed the Loon used to be a crazy mascot in the 80s. He even did appearances at North Star games and the like. The Loon has been declining since then and the last blow was when he squirted Gopher fans with a Super Soaker and got beat up. He hasn't done anything fun since then.
  22. I doubt it will be covered live by anyone. But I'm sure they'll have a press release shortly after.
  23. I just sent mine. I'll be in Detroit Lakes where I get Victory, but my buddy here in Fargo would really like to watch the Gopher games this weekend. Victory Sports press conference at 1pm today in Mpls to announce who will have it and who won't.
  24. This is how one in our group was treated by a Gopher fan on Friday night. The guy was beaking his wife who had a Dogs jersey on so he told him to get lost and pushed him away from his wife and the guy popped him a good one. The Dogs fan above is about 55 years old and the Gopher fan that got him was in his early 20s. Gotta love them. Most of the Sioux fans we met were terrific. We walked with some all the way from our hotel for the championship game and had some good conversation. Also had good times with them at the hotel bar that night. The worst part of the weekend was the Saturday afternoon game where we were threatened by security because we were "being too loud." I just about lost it. They had several complaints we were yelling "too loud" and asked us to tone it down. No swearing was used or racy language. It was just Gopher fans that wanted to watch the game in peace and quiet. Hello? There are other teams that play there over the course of the weekend. We had two cops and 4 ushers surround us for the remainder of the game hoping for one of us to swear but it never happened. I just had never heard of someone being thrown out of a hockey game for being "too loud." The whole weekend got me hoping that the Pepsi Center wins a Final Five in the future to rid the bandwagon fans of ALL midwest WCHA teams. I think it would make for a much more enjoyable weekend.
  25. Brosz is still out, and Hambly is doubtful. Doesn't help tUMD's chances at all....
