I'm flattered. The necklaces are well underway and we have more than just pull tabs on them. The Box contingent will be a bit smaller than last year, but it's hard to tell at this point. We are looking at anywhere from 5 to 10 Box members plus 3-4 old school Bulldog USCHO posters. tUMD is also sending their fan bus full of senior citizens this year as they did last year. They should blend in nicely with the Ralph folks. Hockey is really secondary on that weekend. We love partying in Grand Forks for some reason - maybe it's the great drinks, maybe it's the house parties, maybe it's getting up at 8am on a Sunday morning at the RoadKing and drinking straight Windsor. I didn't want to start a new thread, so hopefully someone reads this that can help me... I see on the Ralph's homepage they give tours tues-friday at 3pm. Do they give any tours on Saturdays? My group won't be in town until 3 or later on that Friday of the UMD/UND series so we wouldn't be able to make it. So if anyone knows, or knows who I can contact, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Well thanks for the compliment. I don't know why some people take this crap so seriously - they're just freakin' games! They are supposed to be fun! Plus, it's hard to get too down when you remember the tUMD Penalty Box motto: See you in December!

Believe it or not, I actually know this kid! He did his undergrad at tUMD and I had Calculus II with him my freshman year. He was a whinning weenie then, and I see things haven't changed. He always wore his St. Cloud black jersey around campus and to hockey games at the DECC. He was pretty much a tool. I hope UND fans are a little more hostile toward us Bulldog fans this year. Last year you guys were waaaay too cordial toward us, and even let us outcheer you guys to the point we made it into the Fargo Forum. Hopefully you guys will beak us a little more this year, and the best part is that afterward we can all laugh about it over a stiff Windsor at El Roco.

The Gorillas absolutely biotch slapped SCSU earlier this year. They'll give UND all they can handle. For UND's sake, they better have a full, loud crowd at the Alerus.

BSU scored 2 PPG and a ENG. tUMD got totally outplayed and were completely dominated. They should have lost 5-1/6-1 but Reichmuth kept them in the game. Worst Bulldog loss I've ever witnessed in person. This season is really weird so far for all WCHA teams.

So if UMD beats Winona, the Bison are in? Or is it not that simple... I tried following all your scenarios but I'm not that smart... And if Winona gets in, I don't think they'll be an easy first round opponent for anyone. UMD almost knocked off the #1 seed last year, so anything can happen.

Man, that really sucks for you guys. I love standing at games - I prefer it actually. Perhaps it is because I feel like less of an "observer" I don't really know... The only way around it is to move the students to the end where they can stand all game long. They did this to tUMD students at the DECC last year. At first we were all upset over losing our redline seats, but it ended up working great. We could stand all game, and yell using some minor vulgarities and no one would complain. It worked out great.

What the hell is going on up there? The show has cut out twice today.

These are the "seats" you bought. You have to stand 6 feet back from the edge because the people along the rail have season tickets there. We were fortunate to find empty seats to sit in, but I doubt you would have such luck during a Gopher series. The only positive is that the SRO tickets are in the bar, and the bar has the game on.

NDSU is probably a big fan of Northern St. and tUMD to knock off Winona. I believe Northern plays Winona in the Metrodome this weekend and tUMD plays at Winona on the 15th. I know the Bulldogs can beat Winona - they have a new quarterback and have been clicking. I think Northern can beat Winona too - it will be very high scoring. NDSU @ UND in the first round. Again?

Should be a good game. I expect an offensive shootout, and obviously the Sioux have the upper hand on goal scorers. It's always interesting going into the first game - it's like that damn box of chocolates. If tUMD can survive the first period I think they'll be ok. Luckily for the UND crowd, tUMD Penalty Box will not be attending this game. They decided the 5 hour trek from Duluth was too much for one game, and decided to wait for the regular season series. I will be there to represent, so if you see a guy in a Penalty Box shirt, say "Hi" or "Bulldogs Suck."
