right now we lose the comparison to bc and are winning against unh. what will really help us is for maine to play 5 more games against tuc's and we will atomatically flip that comparison as their tuc record is brutal. it wouldn't hurt for yale to start losing a few games. as well to drop their rpi.
-
will gregoire ever come come back or willit be like chay last year? that said sounds like same lineup we had against the usa teenagers in which we struggled big time to score. that puts a damper on thursdays game. maybe it's a good thing it won't be on tv.
-
they usually leave a day ahead to get a practice in the opposing arena.
-
if you live in the duluth area it will, as far as other areas-that remains to be seen right now.
-
true, but that was one year. in other years for example in 2005 had to go through bu and bc intheir backyards, 2007 go through michigan and then minnesota, 2008 princeton and then wisconsin on their home ice, 2009 new hampshire on virtually their home ice and if we would have won BU intheir backyard, 2010 yale and if we would have won BC in their backyard. which is more dificult? already being seeded in the semifinals as in 1980 without having to play a game, playing clarkson in a total goals series on your home ice in 1982 to advance to the frozen four, and a home series against st. lawrence in which most total goals advances you to the frozen four or the route teams have had to go in the past 9 years?

also Gino did have some down years, some real bad years in fact. Dean even had a down year-hak hasn't had that down year yet. has he won one yet-no. but we have been in postion to each of his years. not to mention the playoff format is a little more difficult now verus any of the title runs gino had or dean had. in all three of blais' frozen four trips they only had to win once to get the the frozen four.

wow, how many great coaches would have been canned for not winning a collegiate national championship in x amount of years-coach k, dean smith, jerry york, red berenson. I think all these guys ended up winning more than one.
-
maybe he thought it was time to do things different for a change. I think he also has beating BC at the Frozen Four on his agenda for change this season well
-
you're right it is way too early to start getting into pairwise. that said if we keep winning at the rate we are the maine losses shouldn't hurt too bad as we'll have a high enough rpi and tuc record to cancel out the common opponent category against other teams and head to head versus maine. if we were to happen to be a #2 I would love to be matched up in yale's bracket. I think we owe them one from last year.

our special teams will be brutal this weekend. no hexy and no gregs on the pp which has already sucked in recent weeks-good lord. I'm sure we'll see mr. nelson back on the unit which is not a good thing as there is a reason why he was taken off of it. like I said in an earlier post split at best now.
-
no. but if it is true and we lose two thirds of our top line and we already have had struggles scoring, just saying anything more than a split doesn't look promising. who's going to step up rowney, bruno, gleason?
-
wow, if that is to be true. split at best.
-
I'd say we make Dunn look like an all-american one night as we did last year on the second night here, we lit Lee up a couple times last year. I'll go sioux 6-4 fri and some kind of 2-1 or 2-2 result on sat to keep with the theme of the past couple of weekends.

I saw the replay on goon's sight and there isn't an argument for goalie intereference as the notre dame player was inadvertantly tripped into dell. if you look at the replay you can see right before he goes flying into dell his leg hits a sioux players' leg then he goes flying. I do think it was the right call.

wonder if the weather over the next day or so will impact Notre Dame's trip up here? hopefully, they have a safe trip. -
I would actually guess the one on the left will be duluth's and the visiting team's will be across ice off in the upper right corner.

not gonna happen. no team that loses to tulsa and navy will beat USC, especially in LA with a backup QB. -

yep and I hope Looker announces USC's 42-3 drubbing of the Irish on Sat night when he announces scores from around the country. -
Hey WYOBISONMAN, you obviously are closer this situation than we are, if NDSU wins on Sat are they in the playoffs or is there still a chance they could miss it?
-
the more points we keep throwing away now are points we can't get back at the end of the year. don't forget it is only the top two teams that avoid playin games at the final five this year.
-
the part that bothers me is we keep facing all these"veteran" teams and they do things real well in the words of Hak. we're supposed to be a veteran team as well and what are we doing well right now?
-
not that it means much, but how in the hell do we have just the fourteenth toughest schedule when we have played DU, Duluth and Maine? unless our schedule is overrated and on the flip side dultuh is higher than us having only played us really?
-
that's what was said about UMD as well and we split with what many consider on this board to not be a very good team on our home ice. no way shoudl we be favored over wisc or omaha as at this point are just as good if not better than us right now.
-
yep, score one more goal last night and this is all moot point. it goes both ways. after malone got pulled down last night with no call, moments later we got away one as well as we took down one of their guys in the closing minutes with no call.
