  1. Been purposely avoiding the board for a couple of days - I was just a little disappointed with the loss. Lots of info posted about the game, so I'll add a couple of pennies worth too... I too was watching Hanson limping along the sideline. I don't know if he was listed at 100% or not - sure didn't look ready. I saw maybe 3 attempts to Hardin for the long play (maybe I missed more), and he had his defenders beat. Those are touchdowns if not overthrown... that was frustrating. If Cal poly wanted 5-10 yards, just run it up the middle. We couldn't do jack. On the few passes they did attempt, they connected or probably should have connected. Our pass coverage wasn't there either - we were VERY lucky more than once. I really looked more into this game than I should have. IMO, this was a game to get some hype, and get your home town behind you. Dammit - this football program needs some support and some excitement. The way we ended - it may cause a setback in the support department from the community. Admittedly, I left the game after CP's final touchdown, and didn't see "the catch" until just now. WOW! The fake punt? I dunno - we sure gave them good field position. Just the same, if we sprint to the corner and not try to cut upfield, I think he makes it. On the other hand, IIRC, game time wasn't a huge factor at that moment, so why chance it knowing we can't stop their offense? Why not "go for it" instead?. Either way - I just don't care. Cal Poly is a talented team. But with all due respect, I think our role in losing the game had more to do with the outcome than their role in winning it. At least that's my perception as a homer. Defense? Did I mention our defense? Like someone else mentioned - maybe the 3-4 isn't what we need week in and week out. I don't know - but this is getting tough to watch - even when we're winning. Tailgating crowd seemed light - at least lighter than I expected given the beautiful day. Maybe I was drunk. Whatever.
  2. Reporting from the sidelines..... our defense cant stop a runny nose.
  3. No way - just get one of these...
  4. I just deleted a post about Hanson getting the job back after I read: I just don't know what to think about this...
  5. HEY!!! Quit shooting holes in my perfect analogy!!
  6. I think that's a fair question. To honestly answer, I'd have to say I don't know. Hak has never been scared to give out a "team rules" suspension in the past. I'll concede, though, that in the light of the NDSU issues and all of the negative press they're getting, it made the decision a whole lot easier. Ultimately, I don't think Hak had a choice.
  7. If Hansen is healthy, you play him. He's the starter. It's like the 72 Dolphins - Bob Griese was hurt in the 5th week, and the backup came in and led the team undefeated for the next 11 games. But Griese still started (and won) the Superbowl.
  8. Didn't quite know where to post this, but thought I'd share. Looks like good Tuesday night TV. http://www.youtube.com/user/PrairiePublicBcast
  9. THIS IS ALL JUST A CONSPIRACY!!! UND staffers knew that we'd smoke Alaska, and it'd be an easy game to have these guys sit out. Further, there probably wasn't even a party in the first place. UND is just trying to make the NDSU administration look bad by going overboard with these suspensions, and trying to kiss up to the North Dakota general public.. Once again, the north school is keeping the south school down.
  10. Ugg... my old ticker can't take many more of these "no-defensive-stops" performances. Hardin as making a case for himself. Talented kid and fun to watch, but lots of season left. I'm not ready to crown him just yet. :cue Denny Green video:
  11. True - But I would've been much happier with Hak letting these boys "have their day in court"......
  12. I have to disagree with you regarding the probability of this making the ballot. The fact is that we will never know. What we know is that forged signatures were placed to garner a number of signatures in an easy manner. What we don't know is if these individuals would've put an honest effort forward to do the work they were being paid for, a substantial number would've/ could've been documented. Their laziness and pursuit of an "easy way out" has cheated numerous groups out of money spent to drive these initiatives, and cheated the people of the state the right to be heard. I guess if this thing makes the ballot in the next couple years, we'll know if it was or wasn't possible. Hell - I would've signed both, but I was never approached. (perhaps my name is still on the petition, though)
  13. Since we know that they HAVE been charged, I'm looking at the above rules a little closer. I'm guessing it pertains mostly to a situation where a booster of sorts "hires" an athlete in an effort to flow cash his or her way. But at the same time, I'm wondering if it would apply in this scenario. Any speculation?
  14. http://www.jamestownsun.com/event/article/id/168535/group/News/ Video - 48 seconds in. From someone you trust, and in plain ol' english - "...and today they've been charged."
  15. Officially - It's because of the thread title and its relevence to the State of North Dakota. Personally - I love reading about idiot bison football players and their never-ending shenanigans. Better yet is watching the SU administration getting heat for inconsistent disciplinary policy (something you have to be careful of when you have multiple unlawful episodes in the same season). A definite bonus is that it is the Fargo media outlets being the first ones to bring out the torches and pitchforks. And the frosting on the cake is that it made the NCAA website and other national media. Perhaps others feel the same way as I - hence the 14... err... 15 pages on this thread. Misery for the NDSU football squad brings me joy. Pass the popcorn - this show's far from over.
  16. Hendrickson went 5 for 6 last night with 2 TD's and including one for 44 yards... pretty darn good considering we were in "run the ball" mode for his time on the field. I'm willing to give the guy a chance to lead this team over the next few weeks - hopefully he is up for the challenge. I would have my doubts if they throw someone in at QB that hasn't played since HS. You're taking a big chance there - you'll be a god or a goat; no in-between.
  17. Agreed - the PA was TERRIBLE. Lots of echo - could not understand half of what was being said.
  18. I agree - Hopefully those on the fence for attending games the past few seasons are on board for a new chapter of UND football. Even though I was a regular during the transition, I find myself being more excited for the football season than I've been in a while. I'm sure many others are feeling the same way. My Prediction? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSPNQ82Sq4E
  19. Of course they should play for the nickel. It's a regular season football game between UND and NDSU - that's what happens during these games. In case many forgot... the winner hoists the nickel trophy. Losing the Sioux nickname DOES NOT lose our history and tradition... why voluntarily put a great trophy out to pasture when we've been trying so hard for this long to get the game back? Ultimately, it will be up to the schools, so who knows what'll happen. As far as making it a travelling museum piece.... umm.... no. I suspect since NDSU doesn't really care for this game, (and neither do their fans) an NDSU victory will not lead to players rushing to hoist the trophy anyway. They are SO over us.
  20. Sold - Thanks siouxsports.com for this forum!
  21. 4 tickets for Saturday - have to go to a wedding of all things. Section 107, Row E, Seats 17-20. Great seats near the south blue line. $100 takes all four. Call or text 218.779.8696. Thank you, Chris
  22. I hope the bison lose. But after the whippin' they put on Georgia Southern, I'm guessing they'll take home a championship. Just another thorn in my side, and a few more knuckleheads to deal with.
  23. All this talk about Amy Ruley; and here I thought Sioux83 was talking about Dale Lennon........
  24. I see your point, but we were selling out hockey games long before they were on TV... I guess they got the demand to where it needed to be. We didn't get the demand for football, IMO before we gave it away. Not saying I'm right, but my opinion nonetheless.
  25. I think watching on FSSN for free kills our attendance almost as much as the crappy schedule. Yes - the exposure is nice, but it doesn't do diddly for putting butts in the seats. This is by far the lowest student turn-out I've seen in a long time. My son was quick to notice the "sack-city" poster was missing. As far as season ticket holders not attending, I'd encourage you (if you haven't already) to post your available tickets on this site. A few bucks in your pocket and a Sioux fan will (most likely) get a better seat than through the ticketmaster window. If money isn't your thing, give the darn things away - but at least don't let them sit empty if you can help it.
