Diggler, you bring up some good points... to a point. When I was that age, you are right... I didn't like to be bossed around, and I suppose I thought I could get away with pretty much everything when it came to hockey games. (evident by the number of "half glasses of coke" that were ordered from concessions) Entitlement, however, is something different. I never thought that it was my right to go to these games, rather my privelege. I never thought that if I broke the rules there wouldn't be consequences. If I was approached by one of these 45-60 year olds that you speak of, I treated them respectfully... even if I was thinking something different. As I've posted before, I sit in 107... closer to the student isle than the other one. I can put up with the language, and if the standing occurs when "play calls for it", I'm okay with that too. But some of the blatant disregard and disrespect for the staff at REA really drives me crazy. I've personally witnessed, and a number of times, a verbal lashing of the REA ushers by students. Whether the staff is young, old, or elderly, it doesn't matter... the student will say whatever they want, however they want. REA is partly to blame in this because they never kick anyone out for such rude behavior to set an example. Maybe the students should be forced to bring a grandparent to each game to accompany them. Then grandma can kick some manners into their arses like they should've done 18 years earlier. Granted, this doesn't mean the whole student section is doing this. It does, however, completely remove any symapthy that I have for the student section and their seating trouble.

With all due respect, the NCAA wasn't harrassing us about it until recently.

Right on Sic. There are undoubtedly more important things at stake. Ummm... so the crowds are the same? ;)

I'm all for his development, but IMO he has made too many positional errors that have cost odd-man rushes and ensuing opponent goals. I think he'll work out to be a dynamic player, but maybe needs to take a look from the seats to improve his game.

I understand your points, but disagree. With all of the new infrastrucure that has popped up over the last 5-10 years, Bemidji seems to be catering to the regional population more than to those within the city. (certainly the constantly expanding new populous in the area doesn't hold the grudges and close-mindedness as the now dwindling old) With new plans for an outlet mall and other retail and industrial businesses on the table, it seems that the event center/ arena is just another step in the "destination city" classification that Bemidji is leaning toward... and having success with.

Since there aren't any coaches around for tonight's show... maybe some of our "sudo-reporters" can entertain us again? Oh yeah... I respectfully request an interview with "Perky Sparko."

So a white person who has a 2.8 cumulative GPA has the same chance of getting into medical school as a Native American through INMED with the same GPA? Through specialized programs based on RACE, Native Americans are afforded more opportunities (aka assistance) than their white counterpart. These are facts, not misrepresentations and trivializations.

I hate the Minnesota rule! Aaaaaaargh! Other than that, great venue, great crowds, great atmosphere, great fun.

It may be a stretch, and it may be a bit of a brazen statement. That said, I don't think pro17's that far off base. I can think of a couple players last weekend that could have helped the team with some self motivation. Does this mean they're spoiled? Not necessarily, but to think that all players are getting equal opportunities at all times is in itself "a stretch"... despite what we'd all like to think.

Seeing the increased ticket threads in the Hockey forum, I thought I'd suggest a designated forum for people looking for seats or to sell their tickets.

Agreed... I would love to see this team at its best. As good as we've looked this year, I don't think we've seen how good they really are.

It isn't so much that they're offended, but many company internet policies (including mine) have a certain "taste" code that they follow. (for lack of a better term) If the company administrator sees something which in his opinion is in "bad taste", he can put a block on the site, regardless of the full content. Up to this point, I'm free to browse during working hours, and I think the avatar rule helps my situation as well as others'. (yes... I too enjoy giant full-motion bouncing exposed breasts, but I'm happy to give them up for continued Sioux coverage)

I didn't make it to Friday's game, but on Saturday I thought Stafford looked not so good. Lots of giveaway passes and skating like he was out of gas. Or am I nuts?

I finally got through at 12:40 on Friday afternoon, and they kindly informed me I was 40 minutes late. [strares blankly unto office wall with jaw open, then doubles over in pain from sudden sickness/] To whomever got my seats in Row E of 107, I'd be happy to trade my Row H seats in 109... best available at 10:15 Sat morning.
