  1. Certainly the endorsing Chippewa, Ute, and Seminole Tribes have lost their roots... or maybe they just don't have the chip on their shoulder that our wonderful Sioux Nation does. (Oops... I forgot. You're not Sioux, that's a bad word.)
  2. Well, I watched both last night. Intro goes to the Bison show... it was well done. Everything else, especially commentary goes to the Sioux show. Note to the WDAY producers. Bohl is bald. Dim the lights on his closeups... the glare was hurting my eyes last night.
  3. I agree... awesome start; and without the usual sacrificial lambs. I'm interested to see how our NCC competition will be. For the most part, the rest of our league has been doing really well aginst their non-conference opponents up to this point.
  4. From This Article it seems that Ralph said it on opening night. But considering the source...............
  5. Exactimundo.
  6. I'll agree with you here, in that most smokers are used to "stepping outdoors" anyway. I'll also agree that a smoke free environment is more pleasurable for a nice dinner or social gathering. Where I differ is in a governmental agency controlling the operations of a private business. The business owner will always have the best insight on making his/ her establishment profitable. With the smoking ban, they are, IMO, being denied their right as propietors to determine what is best for their business. Maybe no smoking will be the best thing for them... but I firmly believe it should be their choice.
  7. Again, while it may not be a popular opinion, I have to say that people aren't being forced to work there. If the employer can't get anyone to work for him, he'd have to change how he operates his business. Again, a case where overwhelming demand would be the cause and effect; all without outside intervention. Not trying to be pig-headed or argumentative, just stating my personal opinion.
  8. Personally, if smoking bothers people that much, don't go in the establishment; then you are forcing the owner to change to get your business. I think that if the demand was really there, it would take care of itself without government meddling. There's lots of talk about non-smokers' rights, but we have to remember something... It isn't our right to enter a privately owned business, it is a privelege extended by the owner. It's not ours, it's theirs. What's next, mandating whom business owners shouldn't and should hire? Oh... wait a minute......
  9. Thanks!
  10. Do you still have the link for the "woofing" site? That was hilarious!
  11. So this is an open meeting, or are you a Sioux Tribal leader? UND administrations perhaps?
  12. I think we're going... I'm going to do some ticket research later today/tonight. I'll post anything I find out.
  13. I believe Utah's appeal was received at the same time as UND's... not for sure.
  14. Brats on the grill, wings in the fryer, beer in the cooler. It's good to be a football fan!
  15. I'm not sure which way it will go, but I do like our officials' attitude: Herald
  16. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and those in your region. Please stay safe... and yes, I did take a moment to rejoice in my blessings. I guess sometimes we all need a little reminder. Thank you for that.
  17. Brad BOMbardiiiiiiiir!
  18. Maybe it's Siouxrock all grown up?
  19. The possible Spirit lake Tribe reversal is not good, but I haven't really let this bother me too much. After all, the NCAA CANNOT make UND change the name. They can only have us cover up logos, wear different jerseys and the like. It stinks, but I can put up with it... maybe even donate an extra c-note for playoff jerseys. No matter what, UND will remain the home of the Fighting Sioux, end of story. If the NCAA doesn't grant an exemption, I can't wait for UND to sue their a$$es.
  20. How in the he** did I not find that?! Thanks PCM.
  21. On that topic, I was scouring the net for a comprehensive list of American Indian programs at UND. I found bits and pieces, but does anyone have an actual list? More for my own curiosity than anything. One of the letters from the "bridges" site lists 21 programs, but I don't think all of them are AI unique.
