My thanks as well. Many of you have invested an incredible amount of time on this subject for our benefit. It is certainly appreciated!

"A"... "I"... whatever. I'm still crochety. (nice catch, BTW)

But they also know that the old ND Scandanavians like me hold grudges. Grudges that last generations. Count me among the "grudgelings."

This was mentioned in the Illinois Tennis thread (thanks to PhillySioux) , but I thought it was worthy of its own. Finally... our lawmakers are working on something worthwhile. Speaker of the House Co-sponsored by Tim Johnson, R-Ill; Allen Boyd, D-Fla.; Dan Boren, D-Okla.; and Jerry Costello, D-Ill. Where's Earl?

I understand your point in all of this, but tend to agree with ScottM. I'm a licensed professional, and live in Thompson, ND... a typical small town guy. I actually believe that I am regionally the best in my field. However, I must acknowledge that there are many people with more experience than I have in specific areas. Some of my projects are specialized, and in the best interest of my clients I'll refer them to these specialized individuals. All three parties are better off in the long run. Scott's original post has nothing to do with how long his commute is from work, nor what his bankroll looks like at the end of the day. IMO, it says we've got one shot. We are taking the NCAA to court. This is a big deal. We can't afford to f**k it up. We need the best there is in this specialized area. If the best there is charges only 100K... fine. If the best there is happens to be located in the back room of the post office in Zap, ND... fine. Tell me he/ she's the best and I'll contribute. We can't settle for anything less than the best.

I'm eager to help out, but I agree 100%.

I saw this poll in the "open forum" on a site dedicated to North Dakota outdoors. Some good stuff, some bad stuff, and some indifferent. An interesting look at what others are thinking and saying... Nodak Outdoors Poll

Did your cheerios, by chance, taste like urine this morning?

What about keeping the name even if we are subject to restrictions? It would be worth it, at least for me, to not host playoff games so we could keep our name and tradition. Am I the only one who won't consider changing the name?

Yep... I think so too. Good thing these guys can play hockey.

About blaming Parise for the loss... Last night I was thinking, "What a bunch of soft goals... Parise sucks and he cost us the game."Then I was thinking, "Man... where was our defense? They looked like crap and cost us the game."Then I was thinking, "Why couldn't we score on that guy? The shots were right there... can't anybody on this team complete a friggin pass? Our crappy offense cost us the game." Then I was thinking, "What on earth is Hakstol thinking? He should've pulled Jordan after the first. Why isn't he pressing right now? Why is he pressing right now? That damn Hakstol cost us the game." And today, after sleeping on it and working a bit (and calming down a lot) all I can think is, "What a great run for this young team that almost didn't make the final five. If these guys hang around, next year is going to be awesome." So in a nutshell, I've come to two unarguable conclusions: 1. I love and care greatly for Fighting Sioux sports. 2. No accountability makes it very easy for us to be fans... and I'm cool with that. Thanks hockey team and coaches for another great year.

Since I couldn't make it to the game... I'm reading to my son's kindergarten class today before the opening faceoff. (Now I love my kids and everything... but I'm doing it for hockey karma)

Thank you, PCM! The sudo-shows are awesome!

Including, but not limited to hairstyle.

Agreed. Making this year's freshman true contenders for a national championship is remarkable... even more remarkable than what he accomplished last year. I hope the voters see the same things we do. As far as the other WCHA names: I like what Motzko did this year for SCSU... probably the only WCHA contention with Hak for the SP. Eaves has a veteran team and a great netminder. With all due respect, I don't think the coaching got them their great season. I'll eat my hat if Lucia gets it. Anyone have any insight on the non-conference coaches?

The arena was built/ commissioned to provide a source of economic growth to the GF community, as a result of the '97 flood event; and because Ralph loved Sioux hockey. We all know his passion for the Sioux nickname, but we also know his passion for Sioux hockey. To say that he'd single-handedly break down and destroy one of the biggest assets of the hockey program at UND is assinine. While Ralph was a determined and sometimes gritty business man, he was also a good man. To selfishly "implode" the arena because of a nickname goes against everything I've come to know about him. If the rumors are proven to be true, I'll stand corrected. But until then, I won't believe this garbage.

Even though I'm doing the ticket/ hotel/ travel desperation searching right now, I say it's completely fair. If I was able to pony up a huge financial committment for a suite, I'd probably feel a little entitlement for FF tickets from the alumni association too. Yes, I'll be alittle miffed if they go unused, but that's the way goes sometimes.

Although yesterday with Henessey, it seemed he was looking forward to playing with his brother next year. I guess it's another case of hurry up and wait.

Well done!

The Southgate has always been a nice spot to catch the Final Five... in fact it's Friday afternoon tradition with some of my co-workers.

Oh my GOD! Please be careful...

Ummm... has N.J. Petry ever been to a hockey game before? WTF?

But you have purchased your regional tickets, right?
