Most professional teams rope off or tell everyone to not step on their logo in the locker room. The same thing that happened to TO when he decided to slam the ball down and dance on the star in Dallas...

The old arena was far from a dump. It was what college hockey was back then and I imagine if they spent a little money on renovating it, it would still be a pretty nice venue to watch games. I remember going to games at that arena and just walking up to the arena got me excited. The way the visiting teams bus/players came in, the way the students waited in line to get in and the fact that some rich snob didn't yell at the students for standing. Now don't get me wrong, the new REA is very very nice but to say the old REA was a dump is just completely false.

AHL team could not last. #1 reason is proximity to a major NHL team. #2 reason is proximity to a major airport where said teams head personal/players can fly in and out of at a quick pace.

Why is it easy for people on a message board to find information about who is on each organization, who votes, where money is coming and going but our LOCAL media doesn't even bother to do a little research? I would say our local media outlets have become very lazy in their reporting.

The Engelstad foundation still runs the arena In an old article written by Michael Benedict Ralph stated that any profit made by the REA would be donated back to UND. Now I am going to assume that the REA runs off of a profit otherwise they wouldn't be operating it. My question is, where is all the profit money going....back to the Engelstad Foundation...

Don't forget most of the money brought into the foundation is wired back to Vegas so their other donations to UNLV can be made. We do all the work up here in North Dakota only for other places to benefit. As an alumni that does not sit well with me

Yes, finesse style type of hockey has become the forefront over the last few years but to be a good team you still need to some some physical intimidation to be that much more successful. Not saying every Dman or forth liner needs to be physical but having a few is still great.

I'm sorry but I'll take Prpich, Pattyn or Hextall over the likes of Simonson, Janatuinen, Olson, Bowan, Yon any day of the week.

We all know where UND recruits their players but it would be interesting to see how much they spend on recruiting.
