2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
siouxkid12 replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
I don't think it was handled bad, Hennen's post made it worse if anything. -
Commie has a legit axe to grind with Babcock and will never let it go. What surprises me is how the NHL has different rules/standards for coaches and players. Babcock has been a bully his whole adult career and the NHL looks the other way but Mitchell Miller can't play in the NHL because of something he did as an adolescent.

The good ol boys club/D2 days are long over with and people/fans need to understand that if UND wants to be considered a top school in sports, it can't allow average results. Just because you "bleed green' for majority of your career, doesn't mean you get a free pass anymore. -

How would you like them to handle it? -

He is probably going to go out his way, which I am okay with. I wish him the best in his health but let's not give TH a free pass here. He has missed a lot of games and when he does call games, it is pretty bad (obviously not the same guy). As hard as it is to acknowledge, his run of calling hockey games is coming to an end. -
it 100% is.

Nothing about Parise's career screams "Hall of Fame". At least with Tkachuk you have some argument (I still don't think so though) on being a HOF player, as 500 goals and 1000 points are no easy feat. The Hall of Fame is for players like Alex Ovechenkin, Jaromir Jagr, Gordy Howe, Wayne Gretzky, etc. and to water it down with players like Parise is just an embarrassment to those players, IMO.
-
HAHAHA...Parise is not a hall of fame player.
-
Could I see him sticking around, sure. Will he stick around, probably not.
-
Probably got sick and tired of all the Gavin McKenna hype.
-
I believe if you want on ice specs you can bring it to them and they send out a mass order to EPS.
-
Were we the #1 overall seed that year?
-
Let's just let our guys' play do the talking.
-
I agree that if we are at our best, we will win.
-
IMO the scariest team in this whole tournament is Duluth.
-
I am guessing that A. You were in a frat and paid for your friends or B. A college athlete stole your girlfriend. Either way, basing someone's "attitude" because of an off campus fight means nothing.
-
I am pretty sure it was due to Berry being canned. It was well known that Berry was a huge part of his development and the reason he came to UND.
-
That's not even a decent comparison. You know how many people get in fights with "frat bros"? They are the most entitled people on campus.
-
I don't think he had an attitude problem while here at UND. He could've been coddled under Berry and when a new coach doesn't do that, you get a negative outcome.
-
Yup, doesn't sound positive at all.
-
Let's worry about filling our arena for our own conference tournament first

Sounds like a lot of trouble brewing in BU over Sasha Boisvert antics. Sounds like he is expected to sign with the Hawks once BU's season is over. Blackhawks Expected To Sign Sacha Boisvert After College Season Ends – Pro Hockey Rumors

If UND is #1 overall, they will go where the #16 team is and that might very well be Holy Cross (which is hosting a regional).

The Frozen Faceoff always had this issue when it was in St. Paul. The league tried to replicate the WCHA Final Five for so long that I think fans have been turned off by it. My personal belief is that UND fans are banking on going to Sioux Falls and would rather spend their money on that and/or the Frozen Four in Vegas (which UND is the host).

That's not being dramatic, that's being realistic. Berry had gotten really lazy in coaching/discipline the last few years and it showed. There were a lot more player contemplating leaving if Berry stayed on as coach. Had he stayed on, we would've been getting bottom of the barrel players because the allure of playing for UND was lost.
