That's due to the new rules being instituted regarding whining, crying, flopping, and faking injuries, right?
-
Say it ain't so, Joe, say it ain't so...

So let me get this straight...Leonardo DiCaprio took time away from his 482 foot $678 million yacht that he is partying on for a few weeks during the World Cup to come to the US to lecture everyone else about the damage being done to oceans...ummmmm ok.

I think LeBron will opt out of his contract and...uh...nevermind.
-
Well, considering that I started it, you should have expected some thick tongue-in-cheek humor... Hockey stat sheet: Goals, assists, penalty minutes. Soccer stat sheet: Goals (if necessary), assists (I think), flops.

This thread makes me feel like I am Ghana throw up in my mouth a little bit...

Nightly show on NHL Network saying "no way" the Kings bring back Mitchell AND Greene both. Consensus among the hosts was that Mitchell will return but that Greene will have no problem being picked up by another team. Also, cue Mark Rosen with his "scoop" that the Wild will try to sign Gaborik and Mitchell AND Vanek. I've never seen a hometown media with such a love of former local college boys or former players that need to come back. I swear, Rosie would think the Twins have a legitimate shot at the World Series this season if they could only sign Jack Morris, Al Newman, and Gary Gaetti.

When did Giovanni's Pizza close?

Right on...Ditto for Yale last year...and their opponent in the title game, Quinnipiac.

I'm so glad that 1980's Miracle on Ice wasn't the Miracle on the Soccer Field instead...

Yea that foot to the face had to hurt. Ouch!

USA 1 - nill!

JR: Um...Chicago Blackhawks, man. I didn't get to do that. It's pretty unbelievable. Mike Milbury: Well I didn't get to do it either, and I'm not gonna cry. HILARIOUS!

Those guys were good. Bosh is to the Heat what Bill Wennington, Will Perdue, or Luc Longley were to Jordan's Bulls. OK, that's probably too harsh as well...
-
...as opposed to the fans getting to watch Jeremy Roenick cry like a baby on national TV again should the Blackhawks win the cup again?

Rest in peace, Mr Padre.

Not hard to see why Edmonton is so awful these days - trading Stoll and Greene to LA for Lubomir Visnovsky. Great pick-ups for the Kings...
-
I don't know about "erasing" the previous year, but my guess is Pittsburgh and company (and you also, for that matter) quickly forgot about 2008's Stanley Cup Finals loss the second the horn sounded after game 7 of the 2009 Finals...
-
That's probably a bit harsh because Bosh has had some good moments with the Heat...
-
Bosh is Shawn Bradley with a 15 foot jump shot. Nevermind younger players abusing Wade...he got torched by Manu and Tony Parker too! Hard to be too tough on Miami though - Magic Johnson lost 3 NBA finals (83, 84, 86), Larry Bird lost 2 (85, 87), and Dr J lost 3 (77, 80, 82). The great ones all lost sometime - save for MJ and the rigged 1990's NBA's darling Chicago Bulls.
-
Anyone else think that Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade Wade should give some of this year's salary BACK to the Heat? What a sad finals performance out of those two.

It's never too early to start a hockey thread... It's already been an interesting off-season with the firing of Dan Bylsma...I'm sure it's only going to get more interesting before next season's first puck drops. My six fearless predictions: The Red Wings make a big splash in free agent signings and become a force again in the east. The Penguins third jersey becomes so popular that Mario is forced to make Pittsburgh gold its full-time color and scrap Vegas gold altogether. The Florida Panthers announce that the team will move to Seattle for the 2015-2016 season. The NHL reverts back to white jerseys at home. Joe Thornton is traded by San Jose. Marian Gaborik does the smart thing and stays in LA - and the Kings become the first team since the Red Wings in 97 and 98 to repeat as Stanley Cup champions.

If it wasn't for Roloson's injury in the 2006 finals, Greene might be a 3-time Stanley Cup winner...

So much for the Tigers running away with this thing...Verlander is throwing BP fastballs from the mound these days. This could be the year of the (gasp!) Royals!
