Well, not everyone's favorite team is talented enough to choke away a 3-0 series lead AND a 3-0 game 7 lead AT HOME, are they?

Greetings from The UAE, brought my Sioux jersey with!

My comments were in jest, gfNDfan. No one knows self-deprecating humor better than me, so take a chill pill and relax. If you interpreted my comments as this particular poster did, Jeremy_und2004, then I sincerely apologize to you personally. Of course it's cool to see a Sioux jersey on the other side of the globe (I'm familiar with the area, gfNDfan) and your pics are "cool" as well - even in the middle of the blazing hot desert. -

I'm fairly certain he did not - and also 100% certain that he never wore that style jersey. We might have a double foul on our hands here. -

JERSEY FOUL! -
I'll interpret your response for everyone: blah blah blah...Red Wings...blah blah blah...paint drying...blah blah blah...

It's too bad Boston gagged and spit up a loss in game 6 last summer...alas, we'll never know what would have happened in Chicago in game 7.
-
Really? I didn't know they were working on another project.
-
It would appear that siouxsweet was correct...NY played a great first two games but look demoralized after the first goal of last night's game.
-
I sure wish this was a full-time color switch and not just an "alternate" jersey. Good news...but still a bummer...
-
If you haven't already seen the series "Band of Brothers," I highly recommend it. "The Pacific" is equally amazing.

Great post...my dad was in the Navy as well, albeit the Vietnam era. The proper expression is "anchors aweigh," though. My dad corrected my spelling of the navy fight song years ago.

They would have lost game 7 in Chicago anyways...

Apples to oranges, cberkas. How many teams were in the league in the 1950's and 1960's (until 1967)? Six. Exactly six. Finish in the top four and win 8 games = Stanley Cup. And since the draft (I use that term loosely as there was no draft) was "territorial" in those days, Montreal and Toronto were able to keep local talent within 50 miles of their cities to themselves. Had Detroit or New York had the same talent pool to choose from in those days, they'd have 20+ Stanley Cups too.

Let's not go completely off the wagon, Goon...
-
I dunno about that...the flop by Rick Nash that was called sure gave the Rangers a golden opportunity to win the game...
-
I was a Union fan for the entire tournament based on how their team acted and played on the ice, not because of my hatred of Minnesota.
-
Actually 3 overtimes. Great series thus far...NY needs nothing short of two wins at MSG...
-
I agree 100%. I was curious as to fs4l's assessment...blowing a 3-2 Stanley Cup series lead with game 7 at home in 2009 followed by early-round playoff exits since then...

Would you fire Mike Babcock of the Red Wings today?

The true heroes never brag about war, for they know the horror of it. The sight of the 93 year old former soldier landing a second time in Normandy on June 6, 2014, was an inspiring one. So, too, was the man who found and touched the headstone of the soldier who died at his side on that beach 70 years ago. He has carried immense guilt with him for all that time - he wept as he touched the headstone of what he felt should have been HIS grave. Dwight Eisenhower had penned his own resignation letter for President Roosevelt in case the operation was a wretched failure. It was a different time... God bless those who served in that mission and WWII as a whole. No doubt, you saved the world from destruction and evil.

As one of the four teams to win the Stanley Cup in the past five years, no doubt Pittsburgh needed to fire Bylsma. Same should go for Boston, Chicago, and LA (if they lose this season's title). Under-performance cannot and should not be tolerated.

A 3-2 thriller in OT in game #1...can't wait to watch Saturday's game!

No comments here yet? The last 30 seconds of the 3rd period was unbelievable.

Fabulous...the World League of American Basketball.
