And I'm sure in looking back at it years later, Jeff is thankful to have had the opportunity to play in two NCAA championship games vs one and sitting at home after not having even made the tournament his senior season.

No. But I have no problem with programs like UMass doing so. They're trying to BUILD tradition...something that North Dakota, Michigan, Minnesota, Boston U, etc. already have.

I don’t know about you, but I’d prefer to enjoy watching a 30-6-3 season and an NCAA first round loss vs watching an 18-17-2 season where the team doesn’t even make it out of the first round of its conference tournament. But, I suppose there are those among us who would rather be the Florida Panthers than the Stanley Cup Finals loser, right?

I remember Jeff Panzer skating off the ice with the National Runner-Up trophy in 2001. Yea, what a cringeworthy moment of absolute embarrassment, losing the national championship game in OT. Incredible achievement for UMass, a traditional doormat. Their program has nothing to be ashamed of for how they played this season.

I’m quite familiar with Auburn Hills and its proximity to Oakland U. This was all a pie-in-the-sky dream, no matter how much you thought it was bound to happen.
