That statement can be said about the other side too.

That's one thing I don't get, is the REA afraid a lot of people will quit buying tickets if they put a Hawk on the ice or on the building? There is more than enough that will take their place. Over 11,000 people are going to watch the Fighting Hawks with their logo on the building, on the helmets and being sold at their shop on Potato Bowl Day and I bet only 1/4th or less will be screaming Go Sioux or wearing Sioux gear. So a logo/name is not going to slow down what winning has done to the Alerus.

That's pretty much how the Fighting Sioux Forever, anti Hawk crowd acts when they see that little bird somewhere in their presicous cathedral of the REA. They !@#$ themselves when the jerseys came out, think what happens when UND takes control of the building. They will torch the place if they see a Hawk on the side of the REA.

I would love them to lower the prices of the sections from the end zone to the 10 yard lines. It might be a way to fill those seats.

Only in Fargo will the logo appear, as the Fighting Sioux forever crowd (including the REA) can celebrate their denial of the new logo/name, it's pretty bad on the REA's Facebook page. Lots of logo bashing on there even though the next banner raised will have the Hawks logo on it no matter how much they bitch and moan.

They can do that cause it's on the Rez. Just like indian nicknames it's perfectly fine on the Rez but off the Rez "people shouldn't be mascots" can be heard.

This is football, most of those that said that were hockey only fans.

UND's version of the terrible towels. Its a nice way to get the fans more involved, better than that is to be loud on first through 4th down.

We don't need people from Bisonville running around taking pictures with 3 year olds.

What's wrong with mascots? Its in high schools, colleges, pro sports. Its a way for little kids whom may not understand the games to have a good time, meet a new buddy and get their picture taken. My kids love Hawkeye, the FM Redhawks mascot, they run down and get his autograph and picture taken, and they are far from being a "vegan pussy" like you say they will turn into. Just because you don't like the name and logo doesn't mean everyone else can't enjoy it without being name called. So throw away the cereal someone crapped in, and enjoy your day. Go Fighting Hawks!!

After the program collapsed just 4 seasons ago, Bubba has done a lot in a short amount of time.

I talked to a guy from the Gametime experience committee last night and he says Potato Bowl and Homecoming will be near sellouts, how awesome is that. Bubba has built something special.

Give it another decade and the REA will probably think about it.

REA? Hockey only fans? Sioux Forever crowd?

How about people selling food/drinks coming down the aisles to the crowd like at a baseball game. Less people wondering around the concourse in line for popcorn, and missing the action. Also a question for all: how much control does UND have when dealing with GameDay stuff in a building owned by the city?

Do you know how much UND gets for those games? Is it as much as an FBS football game?
